Description
Coupling device on trailers, in particular for automobiles. The coupling devices for trailers are attached to the towing vehicles, such as trucks and passenger cars, at different heights from the ground. So that the trailer can be properly coupled, either the coupling element of the towing vehicle must be adjustable in the vertical direction or the coupling element of the trailer. Most automobiles today have fixed coupling elements, so it is appropriate to make the coupling element on the trailer adjustable in the vertical direction.
The present invention relates to a coupling device with an adjustable coupling member on trailers, in particular for automobiles.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is Darge provides. 1 shows a side view of the coupling device, FIG. 2 shows a plan view, and FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the damping device. In Fig. 1, the bearing 2 of the coupling shaft 4 is screwed tight with the screws 3 in the chassis 1 of the trailer. The front end of the coupling shaft 4 has an upper eye 5 and a lower eye 6. The upper eye 5 (it could also be the lower eye 6) has a toothing 7 of the usual type on both end faces.
The two connected to this eye Len ker 8 also each have an eye with a toothing 9 that coincides with the toothing 7 at the rear end. The two links 8 are pressed by the screw 10 from both sides against the eye 5, so that the teeth mesh with one another.
The front eyes 11 of the handlebars 8 be sitting smooth end faces and are pressed by the screw 12 onto the smooth end faces of the eye 13 of the coupling eye 14.
Most coupling devices on automobiles have a socket pin through which the connection between the towing vehicle and the trailer is established. The present coupling device is therefore provided with an eye 14 with a bore 32. But there are also coupling devices on automobiles with a spherical Fas solution in which a ball piece of the coupling device of the trailer is fixed. The coupling member can thus be any other organ than an eyelet.
The lower eye 15 of the eyelet 14 and the lower eye 6 of the coupling shaft 4 be sitting smooth faces. The two lower links 16 are respectively one screw 17 and 18 to the eye 15 of the eyelet 14. to the eye 6 of the coupling shaft 4 ge pressed. The handlebars 8 and 16 are of the same length. Furthermore, the eyes 13 and 15 and 5 and 6 are equidistant from each other, so that the handlebars form a parallelogram and the eyelet 14 on the shaft is parallel ge when it is moved from position I to dotted position II = This Parallel guidance also remains for an upward adjustment of the eyelet.
To adjust the eyelet 14, it is necessary that the screws 10, 12, 17 and 18 are loosened. The screws 17 and 18 can also be replaced by riveted bolts. In the desired position of the eyelet 14, the screw 10 is first tightened so that the toothings 7 and 9 come into engagement and then the remaining screws 12, 17 and 18 are rotated.
At the rear of the coupling shaft 4 a nut 19 is screwed, which respectively the tensile force when pulling the trailer from the front on the bearing 2. Chassis 1 transmits. At the end of the coupling shaft 4 opens into a fork 20 in which a bolt 21 is inserted. In this fork 20, the upper arm of the two-armed lever 22 is suspended with a slot 25 that is open at the top. The two-armed lever 22 is designed in the middle as a round flange 26 which has recesses 27 on both sides. In these wells 27 a friction disc 28 is inserted on both sides. The entire lever 22 is mounted on both supports 24 by the horizontal bolt 23. The spring 29, which is tensioned with the nut 30, is placed on the bolt 23. The spring 29 presses the two supports 24 against the two friction disks 28 and these against the flange 26 of the lever 22.
This will BEZW the movement of the coupling shaft. the eyelet is dampened in the longitudinal axis. In the hole 31, the linkage of the trailer brake is attached.
