Process for the preparation of an honorable dye of the anthraquinone series. It was found that anthraquinone derivatives of the following general formula:
EMI0001.0007
in which X = OH, NH2, NH-alkyl or NH-aiyl and R represents the residue of an aromatic o oxycarboxylic acid, are dyes which, when treated with chromium-releasing agents, transform into very washable, whipped and light-true chrome lacquers.
In addition, the dyeings that can be achieved with the new dyes are distinguished by good leveling.
Depending on the choice of components, color tones can be achieved that are generally between gray and green. The new compounds can be made in various ways, e.g. B. so that one fuses leucoquinizarin with, for example, aminosalicylic acid esters at about <B> 100 '</B> C and by oxidizing the melt product in a soda-alkaline solution with air, the poorly soluble sodium compounds of - 1-oxy-4-salicylaminoan -
thrachinons wins, at the same time saponification of the ester group occurs. After acidification with mineral acids, the 1-oxy-4-salicylaminoanthraquinones can be separated from the 1,4-disalicylaminoanthraquinones formed at the same time, for example by crystallization from glacial acetic acid, and then subjected to sulfonation.
In another process, the dyes can also be obtained in such a way that, for example, 1-oxy- or 1-amino-4-halo-anthraquinones which contain no sulfo groups are reacted with, for example, 3- or 5-amino salicylic acid brings and sulfated the reaction products obtained.
Instead of 1-amino-4-halogenanthraquinone, 1-methylamino-4-halogenanthraquinone, for example, can also be used with equally good results.
The same dyestuffs are obtained if, in 4-halogen-substituted 1-oxy-, 1-amino-, 1-alkylamino- or 1-arylamino-anthraquinones, which still contain sulfo groups in the anthraquinone nucleus, the halogen against the remainder of an aromatic amino- replaces o-oxycarboxylic acid, splits off the sulfo groups in the anthraquinone nucleus and sulfates the reaction products obtained.
Anthraquinone dyes that can be chromized and have a clearly defined sulfo group that are also valuable can be obtained if 1-oxy-, 1-amino-, 1-alkylamino- or 1-arylaminoanthraquinones, which are still sulfated in the anthraquinone nucleus, are obtained in 4-halogen-substituted
the halogen is exchanged for the remainder of a sulphated aromatic amino-o-oxycarboxylic acid and the sulpho group in the anthraquinone nucleus is split off.
Furthermore, the procedure can also be used so that in 4-halogen-substituted 1-oxy-, 1-amino, 1-alkylamino or 1-aryl aminoanthraquinones which contain no sulfo groups, the halogen against the remainder of a sulfated aromatic amino-o -oxycarboxylic acid exchanges, whereby one reaches in one work step to sulfated salicylaminoanthraquinones of clear constitution ge.
In the case of the specified processes, it is possible to work without using hydrophobic organic solvents.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a chromable dye of the anthraquinone series, which is characterized in that 3-amino-2-oxy-5-sulfobenzoic acid is allowed to act on 4-chloro-1-oxyanthraquinone.
<I> Example: </I> 20 parts by weight of 4-chloro-1-oxyanthraquinone and 40 parts by weight of 3-amino-2-oxy-5-sulfobenzoic acid are powdered together with 100 parts by weight of potassium acetate, 2 parts by weight of copper acetate and 1 part by weight of copper Heated in 500 parts by weight of water for 20 hours in a closed vessel at 150 under pressure. The reaction mass is then filtered off with suction and washed with sodium chloride solution.
It is then dissolved in hot water with the addition of a little acetic acid, filtered and salted out by adding sodium chloride solution. The resulting 1.-oxy-4 (2'-oxy-3'-carboxy-5'-sulfo) -phenylamino-anthraquinone is filtered off with suction and dried. It dissolves in acidified water with a reddish blue color. The dye dyes wool in blue tones, which change to a green with good fastness properties when they are chromed.
