Device for splitting the backbone of slaughtered animals. The invention relates to a device for splitting the backbone of animals for slaughter (that is, of slaughtered animals). A slaughtered animal is usually pulled up by means of a winch or pulley system, then. the entrails are removed and finally the slaughtered animal is cut in half by splitting the spine; Up to now this has been done by means of a hand ax or hand saw.
The present invention now aims that a slaughter animal no longer has to be laboriously separated by means of a hand saw or a hand ax after being pulled up, but that this can be done faster, cleaner and almost effortlessly by means of a motorized circular saw.
The device is characterized by the fact that an electric motor with gearbox and a circular saw blade with a protective hood are arranged in a housing in such a way that the circular saw blade can be inserted into the abdominal cavity of a slaughtered animal that has been raised to close the backbone columns. The slaughter animal is pulled up as before.
Advantageously, between the ropes of the winch, which are required for pulling up, a rail is attached to the ceiling, on which the sawing device is suspended and arranged to be movable in the longitudinal direction by means of a trolley.
On the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment from the subject of the invention is shown.
Fig. 1 is a side view of the entire device, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the motor, transmission and saw blade.
On a trolley 11. which is slidable along a rail 12, a support rail 10 designed as a rack is rotatably suspended. The rack 10 ent long is a carriage 14 by means of a toothed rack engaging gear 16 movable, which the latter with a hand crank 13 can be set in rotation. On the slide 14 is the housing 2 of an electric motor 1, which communicates its rotation by means of a coupling 8 of a worm shaft 4,
which passes through a hollow arm 9 extending from the housing 2 and is provided with a screw 5. The latter transmits the rotation through the gears 18 and the chain 19 to the shaft 17 of the saw blade 6. A protective hood 7 extends over approximately the fourth part of the surface of the saw blade. At an extension of the protective hood 7, the guide roller 8 is arranged on. By means of the handle 15, the device can be fixed at any height of the rack.
With the help of the catwalk 11, the circular saw 6 is introduced into the abdominal cavity of the slaughtered animal and then by means of the carriage 14 and the rack 10 in height adjusted so that the circular saw 6 is above the crossbones of the slaughtered animal. Motor 1 is now switched on.
After switching on the motor, the motor with the circular saw, caused by the weight of the device, moves down the backbone of the slaughtered animal and simultaneously splits (saws) the backbone and thus the slaughtered animal in two halves. The guide roller, which is thinner in the middle, prevents the circular saw from sliding sideways from the backbone and at the same time prevents the slaughtered animal from pulling too much against the circular saw.
