Gegenstand des vorliegenden Zusatzpaten  tes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines       Carbocyaninfarbstoffes,    welches dadurch ge  kennzeichnet ist, dass man     1.3.3-Tricnethyl-          5-methoxyindolin-2-methyleci-m-aldehyd    mit       Tetrahydrochinolin    in Gegenwart eines Kon  densationsmittels, welches Salzsäure zu liefern  vermag, kondensiert.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  23     Gewichtsteile    1 . 3 . 3 -     Trimethyl    - 5     -          methoxyindolin-2-methylen-co-aldehyd    werden  mit 13,3 Gewichtsteilen     Tetrahydrochinolin     in 100 Gewichtsteilen Benzol gelöst und durch       Zutropfen    von 6 Gewichtsteilen     Phosphoroxy-          chlorid    bei etwa 15-20   C bis zur     Farb-          stoffbildung    kondensiert.

   Man erhält einen       Farbstoff,    der aus Wasser in goldglänzen  den     Nädelchen    kristallisiert und tannierte  Baumwolle in leuchtend gelben     Tönen    von  ausgezeichneter Lichtechtheit färbt.

Der so erhältliche Farbstoff kristallisiert aus Wasser in goldglänzenden Nädelchen und färbt tannierte Baumwolle in leuchtend gelben.
