  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     Carbocyaninfarbstoffes.       Gegenstand des vorliegenden Zusatzpa  tentes ist ein     Verfahren    zur Herstellung eines       Carbocyaninfarbstoffes,    welches dadurch ge  kennzeichnet ist, dass man 1. 3     .3-Trimethyl-          iridolin-2-methylen-co-aldehyd    mit     Dihydro-a-          methylindol    in Gegenwart eines Kondensa  tionsmittels, welches Salzsäure zu liefern  vermag, kondensiert.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  20,1 Gewichtsteile     1.3.3-Trimethylindo-          lin-2-methylen-w-aldehyd    werden mit 13,3  Gewichtsteilen     Dihydro-a-methylindol    in 100  Gewichtsteilen Benzol gelöst und durch Zu  tropfen von 6 Gewichtsteilen     Phosphoroxy-          chlorid    bei     15-200    C bis zur     Farbstoffbil-          dung    kondensiert. Der nach Abtreiben des  Benzols zurückbleibende Farbstoff wird in  heissem Wasser gelöst, woraus er sich beim       Abkühlen    wieder ausscheidet.

   Der so erhal  tene Farbstoff färbt     tannierte    Baumwolle in  gelben Tönen von hervorragender Klarheit  und guter Lichtechtheit.

Der so erhaltene Farbstoff färbt tannierte Baumwolle in gelben Tönen von hervorragen der Klarheit und guter Lichtechtheit.
