      Verfahren    zur Herstellung eines Farbstoffes der     Ti-iarylmethanreihe.       Es sind bereits Verfahren zur     Darstel-          iunä    von Farbstoffen der     Triarylmethan-          reihe,        welche    die Gruppe

    worin     "alk"        Alkyl    und "R" Wasserstoff,       Alkyl,        Aralkyl    oder     Aryl    bedeuten, enthal  ten, beschrieben worden.  



  Es wurde nun gefunden,     :dass    man zu  wertvollen Farbstoffen der     Triarylmethan-          reihe    gelangt, wenn man solche Farbstoffe  dieser Reihe, die die Gruppe

    worin     "alk"    für eine substituierte     Alkyl-          bruppe    und     "R"    für Wasserstoff,     Alkyl,          Aralkyl    oder     Aryl    steht, enthalten, nach an  sich bekannten Verfahren herstellt.

   Als     Sub-          stituenten,    die in dem     Alkylrest    der Sulfon-         alkylgruppe    vorhanden sein können, seien  beispielsweise genannt:     Hydrogyl,    die     ver-          ätherte        Hydroxylgruppe        und    Halogen.  



  Die Herstellung der Farbstoffe kann in  der Weise erfolgen, dass man aromatische  Amine der     allgemeinen    Formel:

    worin     "alk"    für eine substituierte     Alkyl-          gruppe    und     "R"    für Wasserstoff,     Alkyl.          Aralkyl    oder     Aryl    steht, zu ihrem Aufbau  verwendet,

       bezw.    dass man     in    die     Amino-          gruppe    von fertig gebildeten     Triarylme-          thanfärbstoffen    nachträglich die Gruppe       alk-S03H    einführt.  



  Selbstverständlich kann man gegebenen  falls die neuen Farbstoffe dadurch herstellen,  dass man in die     Alkylgruppe    des fertig ge  bildeten Farbstoffes nachträglich     Substi-          tuenten    einführt oder vorhandene Substitu-           enten    nach an sich bekannten Verfahren  durch andere ersetzt.  



  Die so erhältlichen Farbstoffe haben die  gleichen guten Eigenschaften wie die ein  ,angs beschriebenen.  



  Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist  ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Farb  stoffes der     Triarylmethanreihe.    Es besteht  darin, dass man 2     Mol        N-n-Butyl-N-m-tolyl-          amino    - N -     ss    -     oxypropan    - y -     sulfonsäure    mit  1     Mol        Diäthylaminobenzal.dehyd    kondensiert    und die so erhältliche     Leukoverbindung    zum  Farbstoff oxydiert.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  32 Gewichtsteile     N-n-butyl-N-m-tolyl-          amino-N-ss-oxypropan-y-sulfonsaures    Natrium  werden mit 9,4 Gewichtsteilen     p-Diäthyl-          aminobenzaldehyd,    wie oben angeführt, in  schwefelsaurer Lösung zur     Leukoverbindung     kondensiert und diese wird zum Beispiel mit  Chromsäure zum Farbstoff der Konstitution:

    oxydiert. Man erhält den Farbstoff als  kupferbronzierendes Harz, welches die tie  rische Faser in sehr klaren,     rein    blauen Tö  nen färbt.

   Examples of substituents which may be present in the alkyl radical of the sulfonic alkyl group are: hydroyl, the etherified hydroxyl group and halogen.



  The dyes can be prepared in such a way that aromatic amines of the general formula:

    where "alk" stands for a substituted alkyl group and "R" stands for hydrogen, alkyl. Aralkyl or aryl, used for their structure,

       respectively that the alk-SO3H group is subsequently introduced into the amino group of fully formed triarylmethane dyes.



  Of course, if necessary, the new dyes can be prepared by subsequently introducing substituents into the alkyl group of the finished dyestuff or by replacing existing substituents with others by processes known per se.



  The dyes obtainable in this way have the same good properties as those described above.



  The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a dye of the triarylmethane series. It consists in condensing 2 moles of N-n-butyl-N-m-tolyl-amino-N-ss-oxypropane-y-sulfonic acid with 1 mole of diethylaminobenzaldehyde and oxidizing the leuco compound thus obtainable to the dye.



  <I> Example: </I> 32 parts by weight of Nn-butyl-Nm-tolyl-amino-N-ss-oxypropane-γ-sulfonic acid sodium are mixed with 9.4 parts by weight of p-diethylaminobenzaldehyde, as stated above, in a sulfuric acid solution condenses to the leuco compound and this becomes, for example with chromic acid, the color of the constitution:

    oxidized. The dye is obtained as a copper-bronzing resin which colors the tiaric fiber in very clear, pure blue tones.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Farb stoffes der Triarylmethanreihe, dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man 2 Mol N-n-Butyl-N- m-tolylamino- N - ss - oxypropan- y- sulf onsäure mit 1 Mol Diäthylaminobenzaldehyd konden siert und die so erhältliche Leukoverbindung zum Farbstoff oxydiert.
