Process for the production of a new nitrogenous basic product. It has been found that valuable basic acylamine-like bodies can be produced if compounds which contain at least two acylating groups are used for reaction with an aliphatic polyamine. Such bodies may be mentioned: cyanuric acid, oxalic acid, oxalyl chloride, terephtaloylebloid, benzene or naphthalene disulphochloride and others.
Since the products in question must still contain basic groups in order to be effective, only those amounts of the acylating substances mentioned may be used which are not sufficient for a complete acylation of the polyamine.
The present patent now relates to a process for the preparation of a new, nitrogen-containing, basic product, characterized in that a polyethylene diamine mixture which boils from 90 to over 3501 C at 15 mm is mixed with oxalyl chloride in insufficient amounts for complete acylation implements.
The new basic nitrogen-containing product obtained in this way is a water-soluble viscous oil and forms a yellowish chlorine hydrate which is also readily soluble in water. The new product forms insoluble lacquers with water-insoluble dyes, so that it can be used as an aftertreatment agent to improve the water-fastness of dyeings that are produced with substantive dyes on material containing cellulose. It is also intended to serve as an intermediate product for the manufacture of other dyeing auxiliary products.
<I> Example: </I> In a solution of 99.2 parts of a polyethylene diamine mixture that boils from <B> 900 </B> to over <B> 350 '</B> C at 15 mm, about 125 Parts of trichlorethylene are allowed to run in a solution of 19 parts of oxalyl chloride in about 120 parts of trichlorethylene slowly with stirring at 20 to 300, and the temperature is gradually increased to 60 to 700. After the distilling off Trichlorethylene he keeps the new condensation product as a hydrochloric acid salt in the form of a yellowish syrup,
which can be converted into the free base by adding soda solution.
