Device on compressed air brakes to influence the filling of the brake line in order to adapt the release process to the length of the train. The invention (inventor: Dr. Ernst Moller, Berlin / Karlshorst) relates to a device on compressed air brakes for influencing the filling of the brake line and serves to adapt the course of the release process to the length of the train.
It is based on the knowledge that the inlet valve of the pressure regulator, which is located on every driver's valve of a compressed air brake and through which the brake line is fed when the driver's valve is in the driving position, opens the wider and the slower it closes, ever longer the train is.
According to the invention, an additional piston acting on the pressure regulator in the sense of opening the feed valve located in it, which is pressurized when the driver valve is in the driving position, and a filling valve are provided, the control piston of which is acted upon at the same time as the additional piston of the pressure regulator, but again ent is loaded as soon as the brake line pressure approaches its maximum value. One tries to control the filling of the brake line by the movement of the pressure regulator in order to have a guarantee for the correct timing of the process.
In the driving position of the driver's valve, the additional piston of the pressure regulator and the filling valve are expediently under the influence of a supply container filled with pressure when the driver's valve is in the filling position and vented by the pressure regulator when the brake line pressure approaches its maximum value. You can also provide a controlled by the pressure regulator before direction that monitors the application and venting of the additional piston of the pressure regulator and the control piston of the filling valve. In the drawing, two Ausfüh approximately examples of the device according to the invention are illustrated.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in which the filling of the brake line is influenced by means of a pressure regulator which feeds with a pressure which, when there is a flow, is above the pressure level set by the pressure regulator spring and which adjusts to this pressure as the flow decreases; Fig. 2 shows a device in which the filling of the brake line takes place through a large cross-section until, after a period of time depending on the length of the train, only a small cross-section is available for filling the line.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the main air reservoir is denoted by 1, the guide valve illustrated in the known schematic representation by 2, the line pressure regulator by 3, the cross-section readjusting or brake line filling valve by 4, and the brake line by 5. 6 is a relatively small storage container.
At the driver valve 2 is the main air tank 1 at H, the storage tank 6 at Sp, the pressure regulator chamber above valve 16 at D via line 1,8, the brake line 5 at L via line 8, at A the outlet and at K via line lla the pressure regulator space below the piston 12 is ruled out. The driver valve 2 shows three positions, namely the filling position Fü, the driving position Fa and the braking position Br.
The process of filling the brake line 5 takes place as follows: When the driver's valve 2 is in the filling position Fi's, the main air reservoir 1 is directly connected to the brake line 5 via the slide valve 7 in the driver's valve 2 and the line 8. The storage container 6 is also connected to the main air tank 1. The valve 16 in the pressure regulator 3, which in a known manner only when the brake is completely released,
That is to say, when the brake line 5 is closed when fully charged, the line is in an open position during the filling process, corresponding to the reduced brake line pressure. If the driver's valve 2 is now moved to the driving position Fa, the main air tank 1 is connected to the line 18, that is to say to the line pressure regulator 3, via the slide valve 9 in the driver's valve 2. Compressed air reaches the space below the piston 12 and furthermore into the space to the left of the piston 26 from the storage container 6 via the slide valve 11 in the driver's valve 2 and the line 11a.
The pressure of the container 6 therefore acts on the piston 12, which, in conjunction with the spring 14, presses the piston 18 upwards, so that the valve 16 is additionally loaded and is accordingly opened somewhat wider than before. The valve 15 is closed by its loading spring. The valve in the filling valve 4 is geöff net. The brake line 5 is now filled from the main air reservoir 1 via the slide valve 9 in the driver's valve 2, Lei device 1.8, the open valve 16 in the pressure regulator 3, line 19 and nozzle 10 and also via the open filler valve 4.
As a result of the action of the piston 12, the pressure regulator 3 feeds the brake line 5 with a pressure that is so much greater than the pressure set by the tension of the spring 14, such as the product of the area of the piston 12 and the equalization pressure between tween the storage container 6 and the space to the left of the piston 26 this results. To the extent that, depending on the length of the train, the filling of the brake line 5 increases, the flow in the pressure regulator 3 decreases.
With the decrease in flow, however, the pressure on the top of the piston 13 increases; the tension of the spring 14 is increasingly sand the valve 16 more and more closed. When the pressure in the brake line 5 approaches its maximum value, i.e. the flow in the pressure regulator, which is dependent on the length of the brake line, almost ceases, the piston 12 pushes open the valve 15 during its downward movement, so that the storage container 6 and the spaces connected to it are closed Empty gradually through the nozzle 17.
This relieves the load on the piston 2, 6, the loading spring of which closes the filling valve 4, so that from now on the brake line 5 is only filled via the nozzle 10.
The device described therefore makes the use of a special flow valve superfluous.
The device according to FIG. 1 can also be modified in such a way that the filling of the storage container 6 does not take place directly from the main air container 1 when the driver valve 2 is in the filling position Fii, but with compressed air which is controlled by the pressure regulator 3 from the height of the main container. reduced pressure, so the main tank pressure is independent, which is advantageous with respect to occasional pressure fluctuations in the main tank 1.
In the embodiment of the device according to FIG. 1, the filling of the brake line 5 is influenced by the tension of the spring 14 of the pressure regulator 3 and by the constant pressure exerted on the piston 12.
This embodiment is not ideally flow-dependent in so far as during the duration of the action of the constant pressure on the piston 12, the flow can rise to a higher value, for example, without the pressure regulator 3 being readjusted accordingly, i.e. the valve 16 is opened further with increasing flow, but still feeds with a pressure resulting from the forces of the pressure regulator spring 14 and the piston 12 loaded with constant pressure.
In contrast, the embodiment according to FIG. 2 has the advantage of the flow dependency vollkom menen, that is, the pressure with which the pressure regulator 3 fills the brake line 5, increases and decreases with increasing and decreasing flow. This is achieved in that a pressure regulator-like valve device 20 is connected to the pressure regulator 3 and has two valves 23 and 24, a piston 27 provided with a central bore and a spring 8 supported on the valve 16. As a result, the movements of the piston 13 in the pressure regulator 3 that occur during the change in flow are transmitted to the valve device 20.
The storage container 6 and the line 11a of the embodiment according to FIG. 1 are omitted here. The space below the piston 12: is connected to the space in which the valve 23 is located, and a line 2.2 leads from the valve space 24 to the line 19.
In the braking position Br of the Führerven valve 2i in which the brake line 5 is vented, the pressure above the piston 13 is reduced. The spring 14 loading the piston 13 therefore lifts it. The small piston 27 is also moved upwards; it first closes valve 2.3 and opens valve 24 as it moves further upwards.
If the driver's valve 2 is now moved to the driving position Fa for the purpose of releasing the brake, then compressed air from the main air tank 1 via line 1: 8, the open valve 16 in the pressure regulator 3, line 22 and the open valve 24 under the piston 12 and in front of the piston 2,6. The filling valve 4 is therefore opened, the piston 12 is applied in the pressure regulator and the piston 13 is additionally loaded.
The pressure regulator 3 now feeds the brake line 5 via the filling valve 4. As soon as the pressure in the brake line 5 approaches its maximum value, the piston is moved 1: 3 down exactly as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. The valve 1,6 closes more and more, the valve 24 being closed first and then the valve 23 being opened.
The compressed air which has acted on the pistons 12 and 26 flows through the open valve 23 and the nozzle 25 into the open; the 'piston 26 of the filling valve 4 returns to its position shown and the filling valve 4 is closed. The brake line 5 is now only fed with compressed air from normal pressure regulator pressure via the nozzle 10.
