Oil burner with steam ejector burner. The object of the present invention is an oil hearth with a pan ejector burner, characterized in that it has a hollow firebox, forming a dome and a superheater, directly adjacent to a tubular boiler serving as a guide. flame.
In the appended drawing, showing by way of example an embodiment of the object of the invention: FIG. 1 is a longitudinal vertical section, and FIG. 2 a transverse section along the line D --- II -of FIG. 1.
Referring to the drawing, the hearth comprises a tubular boiler 1 with internal ribs, mounted on the extension of a hollow firebox 2 which is connected to the boiler by passages 3 and which forms a dome and steam superheater. . At the bottom of the firebox and in its center is arranged a horizontal nozzle 5, intended to be supplied with superheated steam directly from the firebox. A manometer 8 is fitted to a pipe 7.
Plugs 9 and 10 are provided both on the boiler and on the firebox. The steam nozzle is controlled by a poiutëau valve 11 with lever 12.
An oil nozzle 13, together with the steam nozzle, forms a scary ejector burner.
The oil nozzle 13 is disposed under the steam nozzle 5 in a vertical pipe 14 which passes through the bottom. @de> the firebox. It is supported by a spring 15 on a helical surface 16 formed in a pierced udder 17 guided in a packing of braids 18.
The lower helical part 19 of this piston is supported by a threaded rod 20 which, thanks to a hold 21 provided in a closing nut 22 of the pipe 14 and engaged in a groove U. of said rod, can only move axially for the adjustment -of the initial position of the part 19 by means of the hand nut 24.
Wise 25 steps taken. two sides of the rod 20 admit the oil coming from the float vessel 26 to the nozzle: The level -of this float is provided lower than the orifice of the nozzle, but higher than a burner-igniter V, 7 arranged below the firebox 2. This burner-igniter may have any suitable shape. It is supplied by a pipe 28 controlled by a valve 29.
At the upper part of the piston 17 is fixed - a rod 30 which passes through the tubular 14 through an opening 31, leaving said rod 30 the necessary play in horizontal and vertical directions to lower and raise the orifice of the nozzle by means of of the helical surface 16. By this rod, an automatic control dependent on the heat communicated by the hearth to a boiler to be heated can be obtained through the hub of a system -of levers- and rods combined- with a thermostat.
The complete arrangement of such an adjustment is well known and is not shown.
To ensure complete combustion of the mixture of the oil volatilized by the steam jet, the firebox 2 has a mixing chamber, 32, soot-chamber. ignition 33 and a complete combustion chamber 34. The latter is located inside the boiler. The mixing chamber is partially separated from the ignition chamber by a toroid 35.
The ignition chamber is located above the burner-igniter -27. The flame of this burner is admitted into said chamber through passages 36 provided in the hollow wall, on both sides -a boiler 37 which has come from cast iron with the box fire (fig. 2), A pipe 38 is used for the -drain @of the firebox.
Setting. when the described fireplace is operating is as follows: Open the two taps 2.9 and 39 and admit the oil to the igniter 27. Water is introduced into the boiler through the nozzle 4. until that the firebox contains a certain quantity. -The, valve 11 is held closed.
We light the igniter burner and wait until the manometer $ 'indicates a sufficient vapor pressure which, formed in the boiler '37, will have expelled the water from the upper part of the fire. The valve 11 is then opened and the nozzle 13 is raised by hand by the rod 30 until the oil comes out; attracted by the vacuum formed by the steam jet.
Once started, boiler 1 will be heated directly by the flame. The burner-igniter is extinguished as soon as the fireplace is operating properly.
