Indicator of development of an elastic motor organ. The present invention relates to an indicator of the development of an elastic motor member.
This indicator, applicable in particular to the watch or to any device using the energy of an elastic motor member, for example that of a spring, is characterized by an indicator member moving by successive jumps, in the aim -to show what is the state -of tension -of the elastic motor member, for example of the mainspring in the case of a watch just mentioned.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an indicator according to the invention and in which the jumping indicator member is a wheel bearing marks.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the main organs, of the indicator, the dial under which they. are located being assumed removed '; Fig. 2 is an axial section - along II-II of FIG. 1, the dial being assumed in place; Fig. '3 represents the dial seen from above.
In the indicator shown, a toothed and coaxial control wheel 1 of the indicator member 2 consisting of a star, is linked by means of a known device, on the one hand, with the winding mechanism which, during the reassembly of the elastic motor member not shown, for example the bay spring of a watch, turns this wheel 1.
in the direction of arrow 3, -on the other hand, with the movement controlled by the elastic motor member and which, during the -market, turns the wheel 1 in the opposite direction to the previous one, it is i.e. in the direction of arrow 4.
This wheel 1 is therefore continuously in motion in one direction or the other, following that one. proceeds to the reassembly of the elastic gane or that the latter develops by acting as a motor: The star 2, mounted wildly on the axis of the wheel 1, is driven by the latter by means of a pin 5 penetrating into an opening 6 @of the star, of a diameter greater than that of the pin 5.
The mechanism is completed by a jumper spring 7 fixed in $ in the same plane as the star 2 and the head 9 of which penetrates into the teeth of said star.
The star finally bears, on its upper face, a series of marks constituted in this case by the numbers .de 1 to * 7 and by a colored surface 10, for example red, these. various marks which may appear in turn in the window I1 -dial 12. This gui chet is placed relative to the spring 7, so that a mark appears therein, for example the number 7 in. fig. 1, whenever the head 9 is at the bottom of a tooth of the star.
The indicator described works as follows: Assuming the motor organ fully developed and at this time part -of the colored surface 10-visible in the window 11. the reassembly of the elastic organ drives the wheel 1 in, the direction of the arrow 3 and, consequently, also the star 2 because the pin 5 will be supported at this moment against the interior &, the opening 6 as shown in -la 'fig. 1.
The .pin will leave this support each time the edge L3 of the head .9 passing over an edge such as 14 of a tooth of the star, will cause the latter to advance abruptly at a very small angle. , given the inclination of the face 15 of each tooth.
The star can perform this small movement since the opening 6 is of: diameter greater than the pin 5 which, immediately after. and following reassembly, will again press against this opening, until the star jumps again by one tooth.
By these successive jumps, the star will show in window 11 the numbers 1, 2, 3, etc., up to 7, a number indicating that the winding is perfect.
If, for example, it is a question of what is called an eight-day watch, this figure could indicate that the winding of the barrel spring is sufficient for one week, each figure then corresponding to the necessary winding. a day's walk.
In this case., One can provide on the dial 12. an inscription such as that visible in the view from above in FIG. 3 of this dial. By this inscription "Remontée pour jours" and taking care to place the window 11 between the words "for" and "days", one is immediately informed of the order of magnitude of the re-assembly carried out. Thus, if the number 5 appears in the counter, the inscription indicates: "Ascent for 5 days".
During the development of the elastic motor member, the wheel 1 slowly returns backwards, that is to say that it moves in the direction @de, the arrow 4. Consequently, the pin 5 comes to occupy position 5 'shown in phantom and where it bears against part of the edge of -l'ouverture 6 cpposée to the previous one.
The star is then ent.rained in the direction @de arrow 4 also, which causes, by the inclination of the face 15 -tooths; the lifting of the head 9 of the spring 7, until the moment when the edge 1.3 passing over an edge 14, causes the sudden advance of the star by an amount such as a new figure, less than above, appears in the I7 counter. This jumping motion advance is made possible by the fretting of pin 5 in opening 6 and will occur whenever,
this pin having again taken support against the star and having driven it, the head 9 passes again over the end of a tooth of the star.
It should be noted that since the faces, such as 15 of the star's teeth are short and very inclined, while the faces such as 16 are long and less inclined, a small displacement of the star is sufficient. star in the direction of arrow 4 to cause the latter to jump. Thus, any number momentarily visible in the wicket It will move very little in this wicket before it suddenly disappears to make room for its neighbor.
The appearance in the window of the colored part, which occurs after all the digits 7, 6, 5, etc., up to 1 have been present, indicates that the development (the or gane. The elastic band is nearing its end and that a new winding must take place. It is obvious that by a device similar to the preceding one, one could, instead of making figures or other marks appear in a window, to make. move by jumps and in front of a scale bearing marks or graduations, an indicating organ such as a needle.
It is also obvious that in the case described, the gear ratio between the toothed wheel 1 and the elastic member whose development we want to know can not be any conch, but must be chosen so that the indications given by the star correspond well to the state of development of the elastic organ.
