Dans cette figure, ona supposé enlevé le bâti supplémentaire supportant les arbres et axes -divers; ri ig. 2 est une vue en plan de la partie du dispositif située au-dessus de la ligne X-X kn de la fig. 1; Fig. 3 est une vue en plan de la partie du dispositif située au-dessous de cette ligne X_X; Fig. 4 est une -vue -de face en élévation de la partie arrike, du dispositif, cette vue étant une coupe suivant la ligne -verticale Y-Y de la fig. 1;
Un troisième plateau11 est monté fou en bout de l'arbre1 et sur son moyeu est cla vetée une vis sans fin 12 avec laquelle vient en prise une roue hélicoïdale 14 fixéeà l'ex trémité supérieure d'un arbre vertical15 dont l'extrémité comporte une vis sans fin16 en prise avec;
On remarquera que la solidarisation de l'arbre1 avec, la poulie de frein9, le pignon 10 et les plateaux 2, 4 reliés par leur moyeu commun3, est obtenue par la forte tension du ressort8. En effet, sur l'arbre1 (fig. 4) est fixé solidairement, par une vis -de pres sion, un manchon6 dont J'emplacement est déterminé pour constituer, d'une part, le sup port cylindrique du moyeu3 et, d'autre part, un espace annulaire autour de l'arbre1. Cet espace annulaire est destinéà recevoir un ressort hélicoïdal8 de très forte puissance prenant appui fixe contre le manchon6 et agissant par sa tension sur le plateau 2 en vue -de le repousser;
Ce balancier est composé de -deux branches 34,35 situées dans un même plan horizontal mais dans deux plans vertica-ux différents, comme le montre bien la vue en plan fig. 3. Ces branches sont rendues solidaires par le calage, de leurs moyeuxM sur un arbre37 tournant par ses bouts dans les, bâtis32-, 33. Lia branche, #3.5 est voisine du bâti33 et se dirige vers l'avant du métier pour se terminer près de la. poitrinière;
Un levier89, callé sur un arbre fixe91, est en contact permanent avec la came en c#ur 20 par un galet porté par son extrémité. Sur le même arbre91 sont calés: Une bielle 90 à laquelle est articulée une tringle92 at tachée, d'autre part, au bras93 d'une équerre 95, articulée en 94 sur le battant115 du mé tier;
Le mécanisme est disposé -de telle ma nière qu'à l'état -de repos, l'extrémité infé- ri#eure du balancier133 bute contre la paroi 0, U Ca che du magasin sous l'action d'un ressort 139 aoïssant sur la branche supérieure de ce C balancier;
Ce mouvement -de bascule du balancier 34, 35 détermine les effets successifs suivants dans un temps très court: D'abord freinage de la poulie9 et arrêt de l'arbre de chasse 22, ensuite embrayage de la poulie5, par l'intermédiaire du plateau 4, avec le plateau11 et conséquemment mise en marche de l'arbre18 portant les cames19, 20 -dont un tour de rotation assure l'exécution de tous les mouvements effectuant les opéra tions nécessaires qui sont: expulsion de la na vette dont la canette est dégarnie de trame;
En vue -d'assurer la, projection de la na vette épuisée, suivant un mouvement de trans lation latérale toujours parallèle au grand axe du battant, on montera le taquet habituel de la butée. de la navette sur la branche d'une équerre dont l'autre branche sera, rappelée par un ressort pour que le taquet soit en position constante de contact, avec le sabre;
Automatic shuttle change device for to looms to one or more lats. The object of the invention is an automatic shuttle ehanging device for the to looms with one or more lats.
We know that the inescapable improvements brought to the mechanical trades to tis have made it possible to accelerate more and more the speed-of-course and to thus increase the production, which logically brought about the elimination of the use of the hand of the worker to operate the change-of the net when it is stripped of weft and the replacement of this human operation by an appropriate mechanism carrying out automatically and at the opportune moment the bobbin change in the shuttle itself. There exist many devices achieving this result.
There are also devices which fear aiming to automatically substitute a new shuttle containing a can filled with weft, to the. shuttle whose can is exhausted. This last means offers certain advantages over those carrying out the bobbin change, but it has been carried out, practically so far only on the to. single shuttle looms .
The device according to the invention is characterized by the combination of a device for selecting the shuttles which correspond respectively to the various boxes to shuttles, and -a shift mechanism. shuttle change put into action when a tested can is stripped of weft, said selector device being wedged by a feeler device of the cans, in order to present a free passage to, a gold eurlanchement gane of said shuttle-change mechanism,
which causes on board the disengaging and stopping of the loom, then the change of the to loose bobbin shuttle and finally the release and engagement of the loom.
One embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, to by way of example, by the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 is a side elevational view of the entire device, at the, rest position, which is arranged on the side > -of the trade opposite to that where the to shuttle boxes are located.
In this figure, it is assumed that we have removed the additional frame supporting the various shafts and axes; ri ig. 2 is a plan view of the part of the device located above the line X-X kn of FIG.  1;  Fig.  3  is a plan view of the part of the device located below this X_X line; Fig. 4 is a front-view in elevation of the rear part of the device, this view being a section taken along the vertical line Y-Y of FIG. 1;
Fig. to is a front view of the rear shuttle magazine .; Fig. 6 is a sectional side view of this store, along line VI-VI -de la, fig. 5; Fig. 7, 8 and 9 show the detail of the selector device, respectively: from profile in section, face and plan; Fig. 10 and 11 are profile views corresponding to two main phases of operation.
In this form of execution, the device is supposed to be attached to a mechanical loom of known type, to -two boxes to. shuttles, but the loom is not drawn, since its essential orcanes are not modified to receive the device according to the invention.
We only show the end of the leaf which has a known feeler device of weft of the cans and which receives ovens of expulsion of the shuttle to, to replace, thus that the square which closes the front part of the leaf when it is in operation and which uncovers the housing of the shuttle for the time necessary, on the one hand, for the expulsion of the exhausted bobbin shuttle, # on the other hand, to the introduction of a new shuttle containing an o-arnie can of Zn weft.
All the components constituting the 'automatic shuttle change device are placed on the lateral side of the loom which is opposite the side comprising the boxes to, na vettes and the mechanism for changing these boxes. These components are housed between the left frame 32 of the loom and an additional frame 33 placed parallel to, -distance desired and which supports the - all of said organs.
A modification to, the usual control of the looms is required by the device presented; it consists in replacing the usual single clutch for driving the loom by a double clutch which can be of any known system and, for example, of the type to </ B > caps shown in the drawing. This -double clutch, mounted at the end of the main shaft 1, comprises two plates 2, 4 in oppo sition -and secured by a single hub -? # 3. </ B> Plate 2 is mounted crazy on Parbre 1 and it includes the pulley 5 on which the driving belt passes.
The plate 4 is f or on a sleeve 6 integral with the shaft 1 and campo-r- ing a stop, to balls against which rests a strong à coil 8 spring whose action is exerted on the plate 2 in sight < B> of push it constantly in -direction -of the brake pulley 9 and the spur gear 10 integral with each other and the tree 1.
A third plate  11  is mounted idle at the end of the shaft  1  and on its hub is keyed a worm 12 with which a fixed helical wheel 14 engages  at  the upper end of a vertical shaft  15  the end of which has an endless screw  16  engaged with;
a helical wheel 17 keyed at the end # of a shaft 18 cantilevered in an ad hoc bearing secured to the additional bit M. < / B> On this shaft 18 are suitably wedged -two cams, one of which, 19, com- has a large boss and is notched at 19a; Fault cam, 2.0. is to profile in heart.
The tree 22 located below the main tree 1 is the usual tree known as "hunting" of the trade, which makes one turn for two turns of the tree 1 by means of the usual graining 10, 21. At the end of this shaft 22, we key a -disc 23 comprising a notch. shaft 18 carrying the cams 19, 20 is arranged as an extension of the shaft 22, ZD but with an interval.
It can therefore be seen that if no action is exerted on the hub 3, the spring 8 acts with all its power on the plate 2 and engages it with 9 and with 10 which are, therefore, makes-Lis integral with the shaft 1; the result is the drive of the shaft < B> 1 and consequently of the trade, while the plate Il is dismantled and consequently the entire shuttle-changing mechanism.
It will be noted that the securing of the shaft  1  with the brake pulley  9,  the pinion  10  and the plates 2, 4 connected by their common hub  3,  is obtained by the strong tension of the spring  8.  In fact, on the shaft  1  (fig. 4) is fixed integrally, by a pressure screw, a sleeve  6  whose location is determined to constitute, on the one hand, the cylindrical support of the hub  3  and , on the other hand, an annular space around the shaft  1.  This annular space is intended  to  receive a helical spring  8  of very strong power bearing fixed against the sleeve  6  and acting by its tension on the plate 2 in order to push it back;
at the same time, this 2) plate engages with the brake pulley which is also pushed back with the solid 10 pinion of 9 by its hub.
It is consequently the tension of the spring 8 acting on the plate 2 which secures Part 1 with 2, 5, 9 and < B> 10. When a chette '25 oven pulls the hub 3 towards the plate IL the spring 8 compresses, plate 4 engages the Il plate while the plate '_) # 5 disengages from 9, 10 who are then mad on the 'tree 1, while 2, 3, 4 are always solid ' daires - said tree 1 and - lead the plateau it.
The hub 3, which integrally unites the clutch plates 2 and 4, comprises a groove 3a in which the arms of the clutch fork 25 engage, articulated on a fixed axis and whose lever arm 27 is articulated to a vertical control rod 28 whose lower end is attached to to < / B> the end of the branch 29 of a large horizontal pendulum oscillating freely around an axis, 31 fixed to the frame 33. The branch 30 of this balance is free at soli end, above which is located a lever 114 which,
is articulated to the 33 frame and the free end of which is shaped to form a ramp against which the usual hand -to release lever can act, not shown.
A balance -general control 34, 35 is the essential organ -of the -device in that it determines, in the manner, explained below: from a starting point, the disengagement and stopping the profession and the clutch -of the shuttle-changing mechanism when the feeler device encounters the canetbe in the bald state -of the weft; , on the other hand, the disengagement of this mechanism and the engagement of the loom as soon as the change of naveffe has taken place.
This balance is composed of -two branches 34,  35  located in the same horizontal plane but in two different vertical planes, as shown in the plan view in fig.  3.  These branches are made integral by the wedging of their  M  hubs on a  37  shaft rotating at its ends in the frames  32-, 33.  The branch, # 3.5 is next to frame  33  and goes towards the front of the loom to end near the. chest;
to. its end is articulated by a rod, vertical 38 turned upwards and passing through fixed guide rings., - e 39. < / B> This pin 38 constitutes the engagement member of the shuttle change mechanism.
The .bra, 11che, in opposition 34 is below the pulley 5 and goes towards the rear of the loom; at the end is hooked the upper end of a powerful spring to bou- d # in 42, the lower end of which is attached to a hook integral with the base -du loom (fig. 1). Said branch 34 forms a semicircle 40, facing upwards, above a cam with -two opposed jaws 47, 48 , propped up on a tree 43.
In front of the cams 19, 20 are also wedged on the shaft 43: on the one hand, a cam 4a placed below a roller 50 carried by the branch ; 29 of the upper balance which rests by this roller in a notch in a quarter-circle of this cam 45; from a-Liter leaves, a stop arm 49 whose end spout fits into the notch 19a of the cam 19 located below, below and in the same plane vertical.
Said shaft 4-3 also comprises a third cam 51 wedged so that its boss can act on the bent free end .52 of a semicircular jaw 5.3 < / B> articulated around a fima 54 axis and constituting a powerful brake for the idler 9 paulie on the a.r- bre 1. This brake 53 is constantly attracted downwards, by the action of a to. coil 56 coil attached, on the other hand, at a fixed point of the built. The power of this spring is less than that of the spring 42 acting on the general control balance 34, 35.
The na-vefte selector device is placed against the internal face of the frame 33, at a height corresponding to the level of the leaf at its striking position (fig. < B> 1, 2 and 7). This device includes a 58 slide mounted with soft friction on a horizontal plate -e 59 crossing the frame 33 to which it is fixed and that it protrudes -on each side, like the mantra in the plan view fig. 9. This plate is hollowed out with a groove 59a serving to. guide the caulisseau by an appropriate rib of the latter.
the slide is hollowed out, below, by two transverse grooves parallel to each other, but perpendicular to the rib-slide and serving as a guide to two drawers A < / B> and B called selector drawers, the length of which is greater than than the width of the cGulis,
in order to be able to go beyond the anterior edge i thereof and flush with the posterior edge (fig. 7 and 9). Two holes 58b-58c are drilled in the slide, so key lead into the grooves serving as guides.
On the other hand, the plate is drilled with a conical hole 59b. Each selector slide is also drilled with a hole a or b located at the front, from so to be closed when the position is that of rest (fig. 7-9), and to, communicate with, the respective holes < B> 58b or à8c -of the slide and à9b of the plate when one or the other selector drawer keys has come to be placed above -the, rod 38 and opposite -the lever 105 whose role is to push back the selector drawer which makes it screw to , as will be described moreover later.
The selector drawers are mounted with friction a little hard, so that they -meu return to the given position. All holes a, b, to8c and. 59b have a similar section, a little greater than the section of the rod 38, so that the latter can slide with play.
The slide, 58 is provided, on its upper face, # with a pin 60 on which acts a fork 61 -whose tail is fixed by pressure screw to, the upper end of a vertical rod 62 - the lower end of which forms a pivot 6.3 </ B> to turn into a crapau dine. 64 attached to the base.
Above the pivot is fixed, to, this rod, 62, a rod 6,5 (fig. 3 ), to which is articulated a connecting rod 66 articulated, on the other hand, to. a vertical lever 68 (fig . 1), wedged at the end of a tree 67 spanning the length of the loom.
On the end op posed of said shaft is wedged the usual square controlled by the cam of the gearbox change mechanism 70 and -whose change of position determined celuides boxes. Or conceives that the actuation -de this square deter mine. rotation of the shaft 67 by a fraction of a turn equivalent to to. the angle of displacement of the square and that the lever 68, </ B> being moved at the same angle, drives the connecting rod H which in turn causes the rotation of the pivoting rod 6-2 of the -desired fraction.
A double lever 71, 72 (fig. 1) is mounted on an articulation pin 73 fixed to the frames mq, 33, this lever is substantially vertical and located in a plane close to that of the connecting rod G6, so that its lower branch 72, comprising a slide, can be connected to </ B > the posterior exti-emit of the connecting rod 66, tan say that the upper branch 71 is articulated to a horizontal lever 74 terminated by a,
smooth curved neck 77 through which a stud 76 planted at a desired point - a lever 78 winking bone at 85 and used to transport, in the door, one of the shuttles of stores 101. and 10 # 92. A this effect, the upper end of this 78 lever has a 100 plate mounted in cantilever and formed by a thin plate having a width and a length a little greater than those of the shuttle which will fall on it from one of the magazines, as will be explained later.
The plate 10 # O shuttle receiver furnished with weft could be independent of the lever 78 and arranged to slide smoothly by its side edges in oscillating guides actuated by the lever 78 < / B> directly or indirectly by any suitable mechanical means.
The leviar 78 still has on its height studs 79 and 80 fixed in suitable places. The pin 79 is intended to be hooked by the open curved end 87 of an oblique lever 86 which is articulated ù. a big end 88 whose foot is set on the shaft 43.
The stud 80 serves to hand hold the lever 78 to one or the other of the two positions corresponding to the two magazines to shuttles 101 and 102 which are located above the chest and in extension of the oscillating lever 78 when it is to < / B> the rest position (fig. 1 and 2). A latch 106, mounted on a fixed axis, is provided with two successive notches 107, 108 intended to serve as stops for the stud 80 in the two positions that the 78 lever can occupy, given that there are two shuttle magazines.
A lever  89,  wedged on a fixed shaft  91,  is in permanent contact with the heart-shaped cam 20 by a roller carried by its end. On the same shaft  91  are wedged: A connecting rod  90 to  which is articulated a rod  92  and stained, on the other hand, on the arm < B> 93  of a bracket  95,  articulated at 94 on the leaf  115  of the profession;
a lever 90a, parallel to the connecting rod 90 and located in the same horizontal plane but located in a different vertical plane, so that the pin 5.5 < / B> planted near its end is located above the posticure point 1.16 of a lever 118 oscillating on a fixed axis 119 < / B> and whose anterior end is located below the lower end of a trin-le 1920 re-nant the lonc -du lever 78 and LI n Zn on one of the sides. This rod 120 is arran- ()
- fitted to be able to (Aisser against this lever and control by the upper end a finger 121 which is - disposed on the left side 1 of the plate 100 and in a vertical plane corresponding to the two stops 130 and 131 which hang vertically along the left side wall of each of the two to shuttles 101 and 102 (fig. 6). This finger 121 is articulated by one end at the top of the lever 78 and, at a point along its length, to rod 120 so that the other end.
either free and come below one or more of the vertical stops 130, 131, depending on whether the position of the lever 78 corresponds to the magazine 101 < / B> or ma gasin 102, as will be described later.
These shuttles magazines are joined by their opposite faces, in order to form an assembly which is fixed above the chest of the loom and on the opposite side to that of the beltes at shuttles, at a location such that the juxtaposed magazines are above, above the receiving plate 100 and, therefore, vis-à-vis I end left of the leaf and of the passage opening of the shuttle, which is closed by the 95. bracket.
Each store is divided by two partitions, one of which is transverse 129 and the other longitudinally, the 129a, in order to form, on the one hand, the à store. actual shuttles, 101 or 102, and, on the other hand, a housing suf ficient to house the control mechanism of the shuttle distribution, which is composed of the stop 1 , 30 or 131 during after a small arm 132 integral with a badancier 183 oscillating on a fixed axis and at the ends of which are articulated two connecting rods 134, 135 of unequal length.
These rods are connected respectively to rods 136 each integral with a roller 137 comprising a slot 138 </ B > very open V. These two rollers 137 are located at the ends of the magazine and at the base of the partitions 129, 129b cut to accommodate said rollers which are suitably mounted to be able to oscillate on their axis.
The mechanism is arranged in such a way that in the rest state the lower end of the balance  133  abuts against the wall  0, U </ B > Store cover under the action of a spring  139  aoise on the upper branch of this C balance;
it follows that the connecting rods 134, 135 -which are pulled and hold the rollers 137 at the desired position, shown in fig. 5, so that the lower shuttle can rest by its points in the indentation 138 - rollers and, on the other hand, support the stack of the shuttles above .
The bracket 95 articulated on the leaf is arranged in a known manner so that its anterior branch. closes the usual previous opening of the leaf when the shuttle change mechanism is at the rest position (fig. 1 to 4), since the spring < B> 89a acts constantly on the lever 89 so that the roller carried by it is always pressed with tension on the cam 20.
On the other hand, the leaf comprises, in the region of the square 95 and at a suitable point, a fixed longitudinal axis 99 on which two forks are independently articulated < B> 98 of vertical position each comprising a tail 97 at right angle which crosses the anterior branch of the square 95 - in a vertical smooth neck practiced to this effect and at the bottom of each of which is a lug 96. The two forks 98 are -disposed as their lower end arrives at the level of the shuttle when it is stopped by the usual shuttle blocker.
The interval between these forks -is less than the length of a shuttle, in order to be able to act on the body of the shuttle and near its visible points; to push it back to expel it out as well as it will be described later.
The element which is controlled exclusively by the- feeler when the bobbin is almost empty of weft, and which activates on in its turn the selector slide corresponding to the shuttle in operation, is constituted by two orolanes 104 and 105 integral with each other by a common axis 10.3 on which they are wedged at suitable locations by the pressure screw; this axis is horizontal and rests in -des sinets that comprise the two frames; it is located -à a level which is determined according to the position of the clapper at the time of the strike and also according to the adopted type of feeler.
In the embodiment shown, we assume the use of a feeler of normal vertical position and composed of a TC rod comprising at one point of its height a spout t of small section forming a perpendicular projection turned in the direction - from the front of the trade (fig. 1). This feeler cannot turn, but it is moved vertically, in any appropriate manner, every two strokes of the clapper,
so that its lower tip comes into contact with the C bobbin when the shuttle has been driven to the left side and has been stopped by the shuttle stopper.
The member 104 is a rod bent at right angles and oriented so that its horizontal point is in the direction of the leaf and located at a level which coincides exactly with that to which the beak t of the feeler descends when the bobbin of the shuttle only carries two or three weft turns, as indicated by the position drawn in broken lines (fig. 7). In addition, said bent rod 104 is located in the same shot as the feeler, so that the latter surely meets her at the aforementioned position.
The component 105 is a lever which hangs vertically and whose invariable position is adjusted during assembly so that the selector slide A is exactly in front of it when it is gearbox no. 1 which is in operation, position fig. 1, 2 and 7 to 11, while during operation of gearbox no 2 it is the selector drawer P) which must be in front of said lever < B> 105.
Between the vertical rods 38 and 62 is placed, at desired height, a push lever 1-10 pivoting on a fixed axis and constantly attracted in front of the rod 38 by a return spring 140 which makes it abut against a stop 141, so that in its normal position its upper end is very close to the back of the selector drawers A and B (fig. 1 and 7). This pusher is bent to form a small forked branch embracing < B> the rod 38.
On this rod 38 are fixed by pressure screws and at marked locations, two rings 111 -and 112 which are intended to act respectively on the small branch of the lever 110 and on the latch 10 # 6, as will be seen in the following description of the operation of the - device.
The fio ,. 1 represents at the rest position of the shuttle-changing device, since the clutch plate 11 is released - brayed, while the pulley 9 is on the contrary engaged with the plate 2 by the sleeve 6 integral of the shaft 1, which is consequently driven by the pulley 5 and drives the loom and also the hunting shaft 22. The loom then operates normally as long as it is not is not voluntarily disengaged for any reason whatsoever or that the cans of the two shuttles still have weft.
Voluntary stopping of the loom is effected by the worker by releasing on the hand disengaging lever which makes the lever 114 lower by a quantity set at in advance to tilt the balance 29, 30, by the exact amplitude necessary to -long to the lever 25 in order to moving the sleeve 3 by precise stroke putting it in neutral where the chain rings 2 and, 4 are both disengaged.
When the loom is engaged (fi-. 1), and the working shuttle N is filled with weft, as shown, in dotted lines (fi- . 1) and in continuous lines (fio ,. 7), the Z, Zn walk of the trade is normal and at each stroke of the leaf, the beak t of the feeler T does not reach the bent rod 104 as is clearly seen fic. 7 in continuous lines.
When the bobbin is empty of weft, as shown in broken lines in fig. 7. the feeler is at the maximum low point where the beak t abuts against the point of the driven rod 104 whose axis 103 rotates proportionally, driving the lever 105 to make it execute a same amplitude as 104. This oscillation of the lever 105 has the effect of pushing back the selector drawer by the same amount A </ B > in the example drawn.
This movement of the selector slide A is calculated so that the orifice a comes to coincide exactly with the hole 59b of the plate and with the hole 581-, of the slide < B> 58.
After this tamping, the selector slide À remains in the pushed-out position, but the components 105 and 104 return to their normal rest position in at the same time that the leaf turns backwards. A this moment, there can y have tilting of the balance 34, n - 35, of the causes the notch in disc 23 not to be below tooth 34a.
Indeed, the setting of this disc 23 on the 4th chase shaft 22 is established - so that at each turn, the perforation is at the part of the disc and that this precise instant corresponds to the immobilization of the leaf at the rear position and at, the stop, by the usual shuttle blocker, ide the shuttle which comes from its box and has traversed the open step of the. warp to deposit its weft.
As a result of this wedging, when the leaf starts again to move forward to strike and allow feeling, the disc. 23 continues its rotation - and its notch moves away of tooth 34a only to return below it after completion of the revolution during which the leaf comes back and comes to a stop, then the shuttle is returned to its box and returns to be blocked. quée again.
It is at the instant of this return of the shuttle to empty weft bobbin, that the release of the na vette occurs automatically and beforehand the disengagement and braking of the trade.
When the notch indeed arrives below the tooth 34a of the balance 34, 35, the latter can switch under the tension of the spring 42 since, on the one hand, this tooth 34a finds to get lodged -in said notch and that, -on the other hand, the point of I & rod 38 finds passage in the series of super holes posed # 59b, a and 58b of the selector device.
This rocking movement of the balance 34,  35  determines the following successive effects in a very short time: First braking of the pulley  9  and stopping of the 22, then engaging the pulley  5,  through the plate 4, with the plate  11  and consequently starting the shaft  18 < / B> carrying the cams  19,  20 - one rotation of which ensures the execution of all the movements carrying out the necessary operations which are: expulsion of the na vette from which the bobbin is empty of weft ;
extraction of a new shuttle to can full of wefts, from the store of the corresponding shuttles to the box to running shuttles; insertion of this new na vette in the leaf; disengaging the plate It and simultaneously releasing the pulley 9 and the shaft 22 and engaging the plate 2 with the pulley 9 -determining the instantaneous and normal restart of the trade.
For the explanation, we suppose that it is the box no 1 which works, consequently the tree 67, whose circular displacement is commanded by the usual mechanism boxes, is in the first position and also the lever 68, as shown in fig. 1, which position determines:
10 The desired obliqueness of the double lever 71, 72 having brought the lever 74 to the position necessary for that the end: of its slide 77 has pulled on the transport lever 78 by the pin 76 and has forced the gbujon 80 to -butt against the notch 107 -of the latch 106, hand thus holding this lever 78 to the first position, in which the front end of the 100 shelf is exactly below the 101 magazine containing the shuttles which must correspond to the box no 1.
20 The desired orientation of the fork, 61 under the effect of the connecting rod 66 acting on the connecting rod 65 which turns the pivoting rod 62 by a fraction of a turn calculated so that the movement of the slide 58 is sufficient to bring the selector slide A opposite the lever 105, as shown in continuous lines in fig. 7 to 9.
Simultaneously, the branch 34 acts on the nozzle 47 and causes this cam 47--48, as well as those 45 and 51 and on the arm 49 to describe by the common shaft 43, a fraction of a turn in the direction of the arrow (fig. 10), it follows: -on the one hand, that the branch 29 of the disengage- clutch- arm is lifted by means of its roller 50, on which the ramp of the cam 45 acts; - on the other hand, that the cam 51 aban gives its action on the nozzle 52 of the brake shoe 53 that the spring 56 , suddenly relaxed, apply to the pulley 9 which is thus braked instantly and then firmly.
The lifting of the arm 29 of the balance 29-30 ! Results in a push on the connecting rod 928 which acts on the lever 27 to tilt the fork 25 which brings back the hub 3 by compressing the spring 8 and disengaging the plate 2) with the brake pulley 9, then engaging the plate 4 with, the plate 11.
The fraction of a turn effected by the cam à nozzles 47, 48 and also transmitted to the arm 49 has the effect of making this Fencoahe iga arm escape from the cam 19 and , on the other hand, to move the connecting rod 88 which attracts the lever 86 to bring its hooked end 87 closer to the stud 79 < / B> of lever 78, as shown in fig. 10.
As a result -of the plate clutch Il with the driving pulley 5, and the release of the cam 19 from the grip of the arm 49, the shaft 18 begins to move at very low speed folded due to the ratios given to the screws and wheels 12, 14, 1-6, 17; for example the shaft 18 can turn twelve times slower than the shaft 1, so that during one revolution of the cams 19, 20, all the movements which will be described can be executed practically without jerking.
The cams 19, 20 rotating in the direction of the arrow (fig. 10), it is the boss of the heart-shaped cam 20 which comes into play throughout first by suddenly pushing back the lever 89 fixed on the shaft 91; the result is a simultaneous lowering of the two horizontal levers 90 and goa , which determine the following effects:
the lever 90 pulls on the rod 92 which causes the tilting of the bracket 95 including the. anterior part rises by -discovering the opening -from the front of the leaf (fig. 11), and by abruptly lifting by the stop 96 the tails < B> 97 forks 98 which tilt forward and throw the shuttle N out of the leaf where it falls into an appropriate receptacle.
The lever 90a acts by the pin 55 on the tail 116 to raise the lever 118 which pushes to its turn the rod 120 whose ascent determines the lifting of the doiot 121 whose free end pushes from bottom to top the stop 130 belonging to the mechanism relating to the magazine 101 to shuttles - intended for box no 1. The actuation of the stop 1'30 causes the oscillation of the balance 133 which actuates the connecting rods 134, 135 < / B> in the opposite direction and by a fraction of a turn which is sufficient to liW # - rer the first,
shuttle resting in the slot, on the one hand, and to retain the -second shuttle -and the following ones, on the other hand. As soon as the first shuttle has fallen, the spring 139 shovels the balance, which returns to its rest position, as well as the connecting rods and rollers into which the lower shuttle of the stack falls. The first shuttle N 101 released by the rollers 1.37 falls on the front of the 100 plateau intended for to take away.
The action of the. cam 19 does not begin until its large boss comes into contact with the beak of arm 49 and gradually raises said arm, which is intended to set the connecting rod in motion 88 < / B> and make it complete such a stroke that the 86 lever drives to. the shuttle shift lever 78 in turn moves it towards the leaf by an amplitude calculated so that the 100 shuttle carrier N 101, </ B> distributed automatically, reaches the leaf and enters inside as shown in fig. 11.
At this moment, the boss of the cam 20 lets the lever 89 return a little under the call of its spring 89a, which allows at the 95 square of the leaf to go down a little and -dc. constitute a stop at the. new shuttle N 101 to prevent it from leaving with the carrier 100, which can turn back, given the free space between the end -of 95 and the darkening -of the leaf.
The top of the large boss of the cam 19 having left contact with the arm 49, the latter gradually descends under the action of the return spring 88a acting on the connecting rod 88-, at the same time, the cams 45, 51 and those to, nozzles 47, 48, rotate backwards and return to their normal position of re pos (fi-. 1), as soon as the notch l9a of cam 19 has presented itself, to the cradle of arm 49 which then falls back into this instantly notches and interrupts the rotation of this cam 19 and consequently that of the shaft 18. On the other hand, the roller 50, falls back into its housing of the cam 45 and consequently the.
29 branch of the swing arm 29-30 is lowered and determines the release of the plate It and, the clutch of the brake pulley 9.
The business is therefore automatically restarted.
It is to note that the, winding of the arm 34 of the balance 34, 35, under the action of the boss of the cam < B> 19 acting on the arm 49, has the natural effect of letting the branch 35 go down and consequently the rod 38 whose tip returns below the selector drawer pushed back TO and whose. ring 112 drops the latch 106, while the ring 111 gives a sudden shock on the small forked branch of the lever 110, which s 'thus tilts in the direction of the 59 plate while holding its spring.
This inclination of the 110 lever is sufficient to make it act on the rear of the selector drawer À in order to push it back to its rest position (fig, 1 and 7 to 9) which it previously occupied. Immediately after its action, the lever 110 is suddenly pulled back by its spring.
The assembly -of the -automatic shuttle-changing device will therefore be ready again to operate as soon as the weft of one or the other -of the cans of the two shuttles will come near its end, it being understood that the shuttles work alternately at. regular or irregular intervals, depending on the weave of the fabric produced by the loom.
When it will be the shuttle of box no 2 which will have to work, the bait mechanism will act to raise box no 2 to height, from the leaf and consequently the shaft 67 will rotate driving the lever 68 which will tilt the double lever 71, 72, which will take the position indicated by the axes longi tudinals -drawn in broken lines fig. 1 In this position, said lever 71-72 will have pushed lever 74 forward of the loom,
so that the anterior end of the slide 77 moves away sufficiently from the pin 80 of the lever 78 to allow the subsequent movement of said lever in before -from the loom to the effect that the part of the spreader plate 100 on which the lower shuttle of the magazine 102 must fall is placed below said magazine. . On the other hand, the connecting rod 66 will be pulled by the lever 68 and will do.
execute with. the pivoting rod aunt 6-2 a determined fraction of a turn which will cause the shift of the fork 61 and consequently the sliding of the slide 58 in the direction of the frame M. and of a quantity equivalent to:
at the distance # from axis to axis of the selector drawers A, B, - such that the selector drawer B will take exactly the place that the selector drawer A previously occupied vis-à-vis the lever 105. It can therefore be understood that when the bobbin , from the shuttle to to box no. 2 will be stripped of the weft, the operations described above for the na vette of the. box no. 1 will reproduce identically, with the only differences that the sink 105 will push the selector drawer B whose hole b will be.
crossed by the, rod 38 and then, after lifting the latch 106 by the ring 119-, the lever 78 will be called by its jurisdiction 7 and will take. its second position, which will be adjusted pax la, the stop of the stud 80 centers the front end of the slide 77. After the shuttle change and la-, fallen, from the latch 106, the stud 79 will come. stop against the 10.8 notch and the 78 lever will remain in its second position.
When another gearbox change occurs, ie gearbox no 1 will come back in function, the various components will take the position shown in fig. 1, and so on to. each box change.
In the event that the device is applied to - my loom comprising a number of boxes greater than than two or four boxes, for example, the slide 58 </ B > would have four selector drawers and there would y have four na vettes stores; the 10.6 latch would be extended to include four notches; the slide 77 would also be longer and the lever 86 also.
All the other orl.anes remain stable and the operation too, except that the double lever 71, 72 and also the swivel rod 62 will take four different positions corresponding to those of the four bolts, so that it is always the appropriate selector drawer to. the box in function which is in front of the lever 105 </ B > and also that the carrier plate 100 is placed below the store containing the shuttles which soili intended for the box in operation.
It was explained that the shuttle change operation is not done as soon as D the feeling is done., But only after the shuttle â </ B > bobbin -depleted of weft is returned to its box and returned to the side -of the feeler. It follows that in the event that this shuttle would remain at that time in, its, box, the replacement of this exhausted shuttle by a new full shuttle would only be done later and when the box containing said exhausted shuttle returns to function,
and also when this shuttle ar riveted to the end -of the wing opposite to, side of the boxes. Assuming that the. exhausted shuttle belongs to box # 2 and whether box # 4 # comes into operation, moving # the slide 58 will put selector drawer # 4 in front of the lever 105, while the selector drawer no.2 will be moved away from it, but given that this last one was pushed back during the feeling, it will remain in this state pushed back and when the gearbox no. 2 will work to again.
said selector drawer no. 2 will come opposite the 105 lever and, immediately there. shuttle stopped by the shuttle blocker, the balance 34, 35 will tilt since the tip of the rod 38 will have a clear path and will be able to cross the selector spool no 2, thus triggering the shuttle change operation.
The same case could happen for all the shuttles, the change would always take place automatically and exclusively when the. Exhausted shuttle would take the first out of its box to be stopped on the side of the wing opposite to that of the baites.
The shuttle change device, described and shown comprises a sliding drawer selector device comprising a hole for the passage of the pin, c #D release. 38, but it must be understood that the same result would be obtained by the use of either a rotating disc or a rotating cylinder, which would be drilled with an equal number of holes the number of to shuttles boxes -of the loom to receive the shuttle change device.
This disc or this cylinder being also controlled by the box change mechanism and by the intermediary of appropriate mechanical members which would transmit to one or to < / B> the other of these selection devices an angular movement whose amplitude would be regulated according to the number of boxes, to present to the tip of the rod engagement 38, the corresponding hole to the. box in function.
In order to ensure the projection of the exhausted na vette, following a lateral movement movement always parallel to the major axis of the leaf, the usual stopper will be mounted. of the shuttle on the branch of a square, the other branch of which will be biased by a spring so that the cleat is in a constant position of contact with the sword;
this last branch will be prolonged, until exceeding the fringe of fraction 92-- of Forgane 95, on which the rod will be fixed, at a suitable point. a stop ring intended to press on the branch: from the square to the cleat when the Forgane 95 is lifted, to the effect that the cleat moves back a little and leaves the shuttle completely free.
