Loom with several lats, with automatic shuttle change device. The present invention relates to a weaving loom with several lats (shuttles), in particular with four lats, provided with a device for automatically changing the shuttles requiring neither the stopping of the loom, nor any electrical device.
According to the invention, this loom, comprising a weft feeler, selection plates triggering a selection movement of shuttle boxes, and a magazine for the different series of replacement shuttles, is characterized in that, on triggering by the weft feeler is associated with a triggering, by said plates, of the box selection movement,
the triggering by the feeler constituting only a pre-recording which is only concluded when the start- triggering of the movement of the boxes takes place by means of a mechanism interposed between the tester and.
the triggering device causing the shuttles to fall from the spare shuttle magazine, a mechanism consisting of a key cylinder, turning and oscillating, and a set of levers with pawls acting on each other to trigger the triggering of this mechanism and its rearming, after triggering, the movement transmissions being provided by sheathed cables.
The attached schematic drawing represents, to. by way of example, an embodiment of the trade forming the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is a front elevational view thereof. Fig. 2, 3 and 4 are side elevational views in .different positions.
The embodiment shown is a loom with four lats, that is to say comprising four kinds of wefts. A barrel 27 is mounted to rotate about an axis 100 on a support frame 29. This barrel. is integral with an arm 33 which is connected by a rod 101. to the control of the movement of the boxes of the profession, that is to say to the control of the change of various kinds of weft, this control 102 moving from top to bottom and from bottom to top and thus causing, by the aforementioned transmission organs 33 and 101, a partial rotational movement of the barrel 27 around its axis 1.00, sometimes in one direction, sometimes in the cavity .
On the periphery of this barrel are fixed four keys 32 offset angularly and in depth relative to the plane of the drawing.
These keys are therefore located along a helical path on the barrel 27.
The frame 29 which supports this barrel is suspended from a fixed shaft 31 around which it can oscillate by causing the concomitant movement of said barrel 27. This frame 29 is biased by a spring. 103 against a fixed but adjustable stop 104 which determines its rest position. t1 this frame is attached to a cable 11 which makes it possible to cause it to pivot around the shaft 31. Levers 37 are freely suspended from a fixed shaft 44. These levers are numbered. four, the loom represented being with four lakes, and only one of these levers is: visible sui, figs. 2 to 4.
These levers are called recording levers. They each include a notch 46 and an extension 45 in the form of a stick bypassing the barrel 27 and each coming to be located opposite one of the keys 32 carried by said barrel 27.
Levers 38, also four in number, and placed respectively facing the levers 37, are themselves also freely suspended around a fixed shaft 55. These levers 38 are called cache levers. They each have a crescent-shaped part 105 and a tail 106 normally. retained in the notch 46 of the corresponding lever 37.
On the same shaft 55 is still freely articulated another series of four levers 39 called control levers. Each of these levers 39 corresponds to one of the aforementioned levers 38 and comprises, located below the lever 38, a support extension 56. These levers 39 also comprise, beyond their articulation around the shaft 55 , a counterweight 107 which ensures the unbalancing thereof and rests said levers, when they are at rest, on a fixed support rule 108.
Under these levers 39 runs a chain consisting of selection plates 35, which chain is actuated in the usual way by the box movement of the loom. These plates occupy the entire width shown: by the side-by-side coupling of the four levers 39 and they comprise, in suitable locations, bosses 36.
Levers 43, interposed between the levers 38, are freely articulated around im axis 1: i.Ye 49. These levers are called release levers. These levers each include a sector-shaped part provided with a notch 48, this notch being located closer to the shaft 49 than is the periphery of the crescent-shaped part 105 of the levers 38. In d 'In other words, the notches 48 of the levers 43 are located at a lower level with respect to the crescents 105 of the levers 38.
These levers 43 each have an extension 109 to. the end of which is. attached a cable, respectively 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Around the same shaft 49 is articulated, behind the levers 43, another lever 52. This lever is. provided, on one side, with a bar 53 which occupies the entire width occupied by the extensions 109 of the levers 43 and, on the other side, with an extension 110 also provided , of a bar 54 occupying the entire width occupied by the tails 106 of the four levers 38, but at a lower level with respect to the support extensions 56 of the levers 39. This lever 52 is called the general release lever. A cable 12 is coupled to the upper part of this lever 52.
Finally, on the same shaft 49 is still articulated a frame 41 carrying, freely articulated around a shaft 50 carried by said frame, four pawls 42. Each of these pawls is located astride the part 105 uri lever 38 and on the notch 48 of the corresponding lever 43 which is adjacent. This frame 41 is secured to a finger 51 bearing on a cam 28 driven by a continuous rotational movement about its axis 111 by a chain 34, itself driven by the crankshaft quin of the loom.
The device described above is fixed on it, on the sides of the frame of the loom (fig. 1 ;. Its fixing is ensured by supports 4 and by a rod 5.
On the other side of the loom is a ma gasin 2 shuttles which, said done. that the trade weaves with four different kinds of weft, has four lanes in which the spare shuttles are placed.
On the same side as magazine 2 is placed a weft feeler 3.
Cables 6; 7, 8 and 9 respectively attached to the ends 109 of the levers 43 are sheathed and gather in Him tube 1 3 to cross the loom over its entire width. This tube is. supported by brackets 14.
These cables 6, 7, 8 and 9 pass through a plate 15 fixed to the frame of the store 2 and they are respectively connected to the bodies of the four lanes of the store controlling the release of a full shuttle with a view to its setting. service, as according to the provisions described in Swiss patents NT '37; 1800 of December 9, 1946 and N 276381 (January 4, 1949.
These cables, when they leave, pass through tensioners 16 (FIG. 2).
As for the cable 11 attached to the frame 29 carrying the barrel 27, and the cable 12 attached to the lever end 52, they also pass through the tube 13 to span the loom in the direction of its width, but they are. diverted into a bypass 19 and lead to the feeler 3 which, at the. usual way, control it. amount of weft remaining on the shuttle in service each time this shuttle comes in front of it.
In fig. 1, 17 shows the feeler lever which is actuated by said feeler each time the amount of weft remaining on the shuttle in service is about to be used up. This lever 17 is connected by a rod 25 to a lever 21 oscillating around a shaft 23 carried in a bearing arranged at the base of the profession. The end of the cable 11 is attached to this lever 21.
18. represents a lever which, when actuated, causes the engagement of the various members putting the double box of the bat both in position to receive a full shuttle and to evacuate the empty shuttle which was in service.
This lever 18 is. connected by a rod 26 to a lever 22 mounted on the shaft 23. This lever is, in turn, connected to the cable 12.
It should be noted that the lever 21 is mounted idle on the shaft 23, while the lever 22 is wedged on said. tree.
On this same tree is a lever 24 commanding. transport from the store to the open box of the full shuttle leaf which has been released from the store.
Before describing the general operation of the loom represented, it should be remembered that its automatic shuttle change device is connected, on the one hand, to the gearbox change system of the loom which causes reciprocating movements of the loom. rises and falls of a member 102 in the direction of the arrows 120, as well as the path. of the chain of plates 35, and, on the other hand, to the crankshaft of the loom which causes the rotation of the cam 28.
As a result: The barrel 27 is permanently animated with a movement of partial rotation a..alternatively clockwise and counterclockwise. Following the direction of the arrows 121. \ The chain of plates 35 moves in a continuous movement in the direction of arrow 122.
The frame 41 is animated, also permanently, with a permanent movement of alternating oscillation in the direction of the arrow 123 around the shaft 49 by causing, in these changes, the pawls 42 mounted on the said frame.
These three movements, however, have no effect on the normal running of the loom if the shuttle has not revealed that its weft thread has been exhausted sufficient to require its replacement.
In fact, the pawls 42 are kept raised by the crescent-shaped parts 105 of the levers 38 and out of reach of the notches 48 of the levers 43 above which they move without being able to dive therein.
When the feeler 3 operates, a boat being on the verge of being exhausted, said feeler, successively by means of the lever 17, the rod 25, the lever 21 and the cable 11 pulls on the oscillating frame 29 and the moves in the direction of arrow 124. At the moment of the action of the feeler, the movement of the housing has placed the barrel 27 in position such that the key 32 corresponding to the box in operation is in front of the end in butt shape 45 of the corresponding recording lever 37.
The frame 29 and the barrel 27 being pulled by the cable 11 and moved in the direction of the arrow 124, the aforementioned key of the barrel causes the tilting to the left of the recording lever 37 about its axis 44; said lever then drops, driven by its own weight, the lever-cover 38, the extremity 106 of which has been disengaged, called notch 46. This lever 38 pivoting around the axis 55 falls until it comes into contact the support extension 56, with which the corresponding lever 39 is fitted.
This is the position shown in fig. 3, position in which the pivoting of the lever-cover 38 has been insufficient for its part 105 to discover the notch 48 of the release lever 43.
If, subsequently (FIG. 4), this lever 39 is lifted by a boss 36 of a selection plate 35, it is required to pivot about its axis 55; the support extension 56 having lowered allows the lever-cover 38 to fall itself by an equal amount, by voting around its axis 55. This pivoting is then such that the notch 48 with which the control lever is fitted. corresponding trigger 43 is completely uncovered; by part 1.05 of the lever-cover 38.
The corresponding pawl 42 carried by the frame 41 then engages with said notch 48 during the tilting movement of said frame to the right. By tilting to the right, the frame 41 then switches in the same direction, by sound. pawl 42, the release lever 43. This exerts, by its extension 109, a traction on its cable (6, 7, 8 or 9), which causes, on the other side of the loom, the release , from store 2, a shuttle of the same type as the one to be changed.
During this movement, the extension 103 of the trigger lever 43 also exerted a thrust on the bar 53 of the lever 52 and caused the latter. The latter, by means of its cable 12, then triggers the control system. descent of the shuttle by engaging the entire mechanism itself: said changeover by lever 22 which, on the one hand, controls lever 18 and, on the other hand, by shaft 23, lever 24.
It should also be noted that the general release lever 52 allows the rearming of the lever 37, that is to say the return of the various levers to the position shown in FIG. 2. Said lever 52 acts, in fact, for this, by the transverse rod 54, with which its extension 110 is provided. After each operation, everything is therefore automatically put back in place, so that the automatic change device of shuttles is immediately ready for new operation.
If, when the feeler has registered the exhaustion of a determined shuttle, the corre sponding lever 39 is not lifted by a selector plate 35 bos sage 35, nothing happens, the lever-cover 38 concealing again the notch 48 of the release lever 43 (fig. 3). The tested shuttle was therefore simply recorded; it is necessary to wait for the return of the box of the registered color and the presence of the first boss 36.
