Le réflecteur représenté comporte une bague 1, à laquelle est suspendu, par quatre branches de fixation 2, le réflecteur 3 en forme de tronc de paraboloïde.
La bague 1 se place directement sur le culot de la lampe à incandescence 4, pour vue d'un épaulement 5, isolé du culot 7 pro prement dit par une virole 6. Le réflecteur repose donc sur l'ampoule et est assujetti sur l'épaulement 5 par simple glissement de sa bague 1. Lorsque l'épaulement n'est pas attenant au culot, il peut être construit directement en matière isolante, en suppri mant la virole 6.
Dans la forme d'exécution représentée, la bague 1, les quatre branches de fixation 2 et le réflecteur 3 sont en métal inoxydable, la surface intérieure étant miroitante pour augmenter l'effet lumineux. Les parties 1, 2 et 3 sont en une seule pièce. Les parties découpées 8 entre la bague 1, les branches de fixation 2 et le bord supérieur du réflec teur 3 servent à laisser passer la lumière de la lampe vers le plafond, pour éclairer l'espace au-dessus de la lampe. Ces parties 8 servent en même temps pour le dégagement de la chaleur produite par le filament incan descent de la lampe, évitant ainsi l'altération de la partie miroitante du réflecteur tournée du côté de la lampe.
Le réflecteur décrit peut être aussi exé cuté en plusieurs pièces, à condition d'amé nager les dégagements nécessaires pour la lumière et la chaleur. Il peut également être fabriqué en verre ou en toute autre matière synthétique et peut avoir toute autre forme, telle que par exemple celle d'un tronc de cône, d'une calotte sphérique, etc. Il peut être convexe ou concave ou former un corps de rotation à génératrice quelconque, courbe ou brisée. Au lieu d'avoir quatre branches reliant la bague au réflecteur, on pourrait n'en avoir que deux.

The reflector shown comprises a ring 1, from which is suspended, by four fixing branches 2, the reflector 3 in the form of a paraboloid trunk.
The ring 1 is placed directly on the base of the incandescent lamp 4, for a view of a shoulder 5, isolated from the base 7 itself by a ferrule 6. The reflector therefore rests on the bulb and is secured to the shoulder 5 by simply sliding its ring 1. When the shoulder is not adjoining the base, it can be constructed directly from an insulating material, by removing the ferrule 6.
In the embodiment shown, the ring 1, the four fixing branches 2 and the reflector 3 are made of stainless metal, the inner surface being shimmering to increase the light effect. Parts 1, 2 and 3 are in one piece. The cut-out parts 8 between the ring 1, the fixing branches 2 and the upper edge of the reflector 3 serve to let the light of the lamp pass towards the ceiling, to illuminate the space above the lamp. These parts 8 serve at the same time for the release of the heat produced by the incandescent filament of the lamp, thus avoiding the alteration of the shimmering part of the reflector facing the side of the lamp.
The reflector described can also be made in several parts, provided that the necessary clearances are provided for light and heat. It can also be made of glass or any other synthetic material and can have any other shape, such as for example that of a truncated cone, a spherical cap, etc. It can be convex or concave or form a rotating body with any generator, curved or broken. Instead of having four branches connecting the ring to the reflector, we could only have two.
