Description
Hydrating key. The object of the present invention is a hydrating key, comprising a rod, one end of which is axially drilled with a square hole, and the other end of which is provided with an operating arm. This key is charac terized in that the rod has, near the arm, another square hole whose axis is perpendicular to those of the rod, and of the arm.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
In the key shown, 1 is a rod, the end 2 of which has a square hole 3, arranged along the longitudinal axis of the rod. The latter is used to control the terminal valves, A (fig. 2) used during fires, and the earth valves B (fig. 3) which regulate the water supply to a district. This rod 1 is provided with an operating arm 4. 5 is a second square hole formed in the rod, near the arm, and whose axis is perpendicular to those of the. rod and arm.
This hole is intended to cooperate with the square C (fig. 2) of the square plugs of the terminal valves, the axis of which is generally directed slightly downwards, which makes the use of the square 3 difficult. The operating arm 4 has its end 6 cut in the shape of an ax, which will be used in winter to break the ice, formed around the earth valve covers, D (fig. 3).
The other end 7, of the operating arm 4, is slightly conical and provided with two fins 8, diametrically opposed and intended to be introduced into the hole E of the earth valve cover to allow its removal (fig. 3). ). Of course, the invention is not limited to what is represented in the drawing. In particular, we could make the key smaller, without the ax 6 and the fins 8.
