Process for the production of a real pebble dye. In the Swiss patent no. 149709 a process for the production of real vat dyes is described, characterized in that Pyrazolarttbron-2-carboxylic acid halides and their N - alkyl or. N-aralkyl derivatives with such linkable oyklisahen diketones which contain at least one free amino group,
condensed.
The remarkable observation has now been made that the same or analogous products can also be obtained if 1-haloanthrachionecarboxylic acid halides are used with the amino derivatives used as starting products in Swiss Patent No. 149709 condenses and the condensation products obtained are reacted with hydrazine. Noticeably, the ring closure to the pyrazole-anthrone derivative occurs immediately without any intermediate formation of an intermediate being observed.
The process is carried out in such a way that the chloranthraquinotrcarboxylic acid chloride condensation products are best heated in a suitable solvent, such as pyridine, or in an aqueous suspension under pressure with hydrazine hydrate or with hydrazine sulfate with the addition of the necessary amount of alkali.
If the products made from 1-chloroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid halide are used, the same dyes are obtained as are described in Swiss Patent No. 149709. If, on the other hand, one proceeds from isomeric 1-haloanthraquinone carboxylic acid halides, such as, for example, from 1-chloroarrthraquinone-4-carboxylic acid chloride, the present process can also be applied to these, and one also arrives at real vat dyes.
The present patent now relates to a process for the production of a true vat dye, characterized in that 1-chloroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid-a-anthraquinonamide is condensed with hydrazine. The dye obtained in this way is identical to that described in Swiss Patent No. 149709.
Example 1: 10 kg of 1-chloroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid-a-anthraquinonamide are refluxed in 100 kg of anhydrous pyridine and 3 kg of hydrazine hydrate are added dropwise. After a short boil, the resulting dye is sucked off and washed with fuel. The raw dye can be further purified by treating it with suitable agents, for example by boiling it with sodium chloride solution.
Example 2 10 kö 1-chloroanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid-a-anthraquinonamide are heated in the form of a fine paste in 250 kg of water with 5 kg of iydrazine sulfate and the necessary amount of alkali to 130 for 4 hours in the autoclave. The dye separates out in the form of yellow-brown flakes.
