Description
Liquid level indicators for liquids stored in barrels and the like, in particular wine. The measurement of wine stored in barrels is usually done by tapping the barrel or by inserting a rod through the air hole, which rod has to pierce the wine cover. Still other devices for measuring the liquid level are for wineries et-e. too complicated. Tapping the barrel does not allow an exact determination of the liquid level. Inserting a rod into the barrel is undesirable for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the wine cover has to be pushed through, which affects the quality wine; it is set in motion unnecessarily in the barrel and may also become soiled.
The present invention seeks to remedy this after parts, namely with a liquid keitsstandanzeiger, for liquids stored in barrels and the same, such as wine, beer, gasoline, etc., The indicator has a transparent liquid standpipe, to which a hose is connected at one end and which is approximately closed at the other end, while the free end of the hose has an extension for the purpose of optional connection of the same to a tap point of any liquid container.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing below, namely: FIG. 1 shows the liquid level indicator connected to a barrel, in the measuring position, FIG. 2 the same in view.
The fluid level indicator shown has a fluid standpipe 1 made of trans parentem material, for example glass, cell luloid, etc. 2 is a rubber flap that closes one end of the pipe and only has a narrow air pipe 3. At the other end of the liquid standpipe 1, a longer hose 4 is connected, which communicates with the inside of the former.
The free end of the hose 4 is equipped with an extension 5 for the optional connection of the liquid level indicator to a tap of any liquid container.
If, for example, the level of a wine stored in the barrel F is to be determined, the extension 5 of the hose 4 is slipped over the barrel path H (see FIG. 1). The transparent liquid standpipe 1 is raised to drum height. Then you lower it with the barrel open until you see wine in the former. The visible wine level corresponds exactly to the height of the wine cover in the barrel.
