Process for the preparation of a blue chlorine-containing dye of the anthracene series. It has been found that 'a valuable, blue, chlorine-containing derivative of N-dibydro-1.2 .'-)'. 1'-antlii, achinonazins can be obtained very easily if <B> 1. </B> is suspended in moderately hydrous sulfuric acid 2. 2 '.
l'-Anthrachiiionazin allows hydrochloric acid to act. The use of a 50-750 / 0 sulfuric acid is particularly advantageous. Instead of hydrochloric acid, it is also possible to use compounds of hydrochloric acid which split off hydrochloric acid under the action of the sulfuric acid used.
The chlorination product of N-dihydroantbraquinonazine is obtained in a particularly pure form if one starts from pure azine, as it is obtained, for example, by treating technical N-dibydi-oantbrachii) on-, izins in sulfuric acid solution with manganese dioxide. In this case, the preparation of the pure 1.2.2'.1'-anthrachitionazine and the conversion into the chlorine-containing N-dihydro-1.2.2'.1'-anthrachinonazine can be carried out in one operation.
The dye is an N-dihydro-1.2.2'.1'-anthraquinone azine which mainly contains <B> 1 </B> chlorine atom in the molecule, which is probably in the 3-position. He dyes cotton from a blue vat in blue tones.
<I>Example<B>1:</B> </I> <B> 5 </B> Parts of the <B. According to reports of the German Chemical Society, Volume <B> 36, </B> page 3434, available <B > 1. </B> 2. 2 '. l'-anthraquinone aziris are slurried with 100 parts of 60% strength sulfuric acid. For the suspension, parts of a saturated saline solution are slowly added dropwise at 95-100 0 35. The mixture is stirred for another two hours
at <B> 95-100 0, </B> whereby a pure blue suspension is finally obtained, diluted with water and worked up in a known manner. <I> Example </I> 2: <B> 100 </B> parts of N-dihydro-1.2.2'.1'-anthraquinonazine of the purity as specified by the commercial dye indantbrene blue RS (compare Gr . Sch (iltz, color tables <B> 1923, </B> no. <B> 837) </B>, <B> 100 </B> parts of sulfuric acid contain <B> 60 0 </B> W solved.
<B> 50 </B> parts of water are then allowed to flow in slowly and then at <B> 50-60 '0 </B> a slurry of <B> 35 </B> parts of natural manganese dioxide in <B> 175 parts sulfuric acid) <B> 66 <I> 1 </I> </B> <I> Bö. </I> The mixture is stirred for five hours at about <B> 60 'Q </B> then cools down to about <B> 301 'C </B> (ind adds <B> 800 </B> parts of oleum from <B> 23 </B>' / o SOG - (- fehalt, where the Part of the precipitated azine goes into solution.
Then <B> 800 </B> parts of a concentrated saline solution are slowly added at a temperature below <B> 30 ° C. while stirring well, then heated to about <B> 95 ° C. </B> and At this temperature, slowly lets another <B> 600 </B> parts of saline solution flow. Hold for another two hours at <B><I>95-100</I> </B> 11 <B> Q </B> until the blue color of the support does not change any further. It is then diluted with water and worked up as described in example <B> 1 </B>.
<I> Example<B>3:</B> </I> <B> 30 </B> Parts of pure <B> N - </B> Dihydro <B> - 1. </B> 2.2 '. l'-anthraquinone azine are dissolved in <B> 600 </B> parts of sulfuric acid of <B> 66 0 </B> gust, then 12 parts of manganese dioxide are entered at <B> 25 -30 0 C </B> .
After an hour, dilute with <B> 300 </B> parts of ice and add <B> 500 </B> parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid. Alan heats the mixture to the boil under reflux and stirring well until a pure blue dough has formed, which is there for about an hour. Then dilute with water and work as in example <B> 1 </B>.
