Locking device to achieve a one-sided rotary movement of the drill in push drills and rotary hammers. The invention relates to a locking device for achieving a one-sided rotary movement of the drill in impact drills and rotary hammers, in which the pawls of the locking mechanism are pressed into the locking position by compressed air pistons. The aim of the invention is to design these devices in such a way that the pawls do not strike the teeth of the ratchet unnecessarily early, so that the ratchet parts do not wear out unnecessarily quickly.
According to the inven tion, this is achieved in that a pressure which temporarily acts in accordance with the movement of the impact piston acts on the compressed air piston in the sense of engaging the locking mechanism. The devices in which a pressure temporarily acting in accordance with the movement of the percussion piston acts on the compressed air piston, which is continuously loaded on the other side, in the sense of disengaging the locking mechanism, do not have this advantage because with them the pawls are already pressed into the locking position when against the end of the stroke,
in which the lock does not work, the pressure acting in the sense of releasing the lock drops.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbi game of the subject invention is shown. It shows: Fig. 1 a longitudinal section through a hammer drill, Fig. 2 the locking device on a larger scale, Fig. 3 an associated cross section. On the piston rod a of the hammer drill, the ratchet wheel b is arranged, which engages with the protruding lugs c in the twist grooves d of the piston rod a. The ratchet wheel b is connected in a suitable manner, which cannot be seen in the drawing, to the sleeve f , which receives the drill at g.
The pawls h engage in the teeth i of the ratchet wheel and can ben Ir through the Kol. be pressed. The cylinders of the pistons 7c are connected through the channels 1 to the side na of the working cylinder that is under pressure when the piston moves back.
During the stroke, the pistons k are not acted upon, so that the pawls easily disengage and remain disengaged if the ratchet wheel with the sleeve f and the drill follows the movement given to them through the twist grooves of the piston rod during this movement phase. When the percussion piston moves back, however, the piston k is acted upon. They press the pawls lt into the teeth of the ratchet wheel, thereby preventing it from rotating. The piston must rotate during this movement phase.
