Le circuit de l'excitation en dérivation d est alimenté d'une façon permanente entre 0 et 125 volts, c'est-à-dire à une tension cons tante, et comprend des bobines de champ en série avec le rhéostat de champ r, qui peut être mis en court-circuit par les balais 10, 11, appuyant sur les secteurs d'un tambour coaxial C' avec le tambour C. Ce,dernier tam bour est destiné à être mis en mouvement par le mécanisme, tandis que le tambour C' est relié par un embrayage à dents N au tambour C;
Les avantages qui résultent @de cette dis position sont. .les suivants: a.) On réduit les pointes -de courant, puis que la. fermeture des circuits principaux, après chaque commutation, est précédée d'un état de surexcitation du moteur, au démarrage, et -de désexcitation, au freinage; b) On diminue l'intensité du courant qu'on veut interrompre, laquelle est affaiblie non seulement par l'introduction automatique (lu rhéostat R, mais encore par ledit jeu (les excitations;
Control device for direct current traction motors. The object of the invention is a control device for ide traction motors with cor-tinu current.
It is known that, by using a line voltage divider dynamotor with one or more traction motors with compensating or compound excitation so that, on starting, the motors operate under a series of progressively increasing voltages, one obtains the starting of a train without the use of rheostats and that, under the same conditions, the vehicle can be braked until it comes to a complete stop by making the motors operate under the same series of voltages, but gradually decreasing.
We also know that this recovery is obtained with regeneration of kinetic energy. that of the train; this recovery is completely automatic, that is to say that it does not require any particular maneuvers since the same control positions are also used for starting and braking and the driver has the possibility of produce it from any control position.
Finally, we know that, with the aim of reducing the current ide points in the motors and, consequently, the annoying shocks for the wise steps, it is necessary to insert in the motor winding a small rheostat, which remains switched on when the voltage changes from one voltage to the other and which is short-circuited by a special differential relay - as soon as the current falls below a certain limit.
The object of the present invention is to further reduce the current peaks when switching from one voltage to another, so as to make walking quite regular, both when starting and when braking.
To achieve this result, the control device for motors, direct current traction, having a compound winding and operating at a variable voltage produced by a motor-generator group serving to divide the voltage, is characterized in that it comprises a rheostat mounted in series with the bypass winding, which rheostat is arranged so that, on start-up, it is switched on when the control member of a regulator occupies an on position, and incurs -circuit,
when this member passes from one position to another, while during braking, it is switched on when the control member passes from one position to another, and in short circuit when this member is, in a walking position.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments @de the object of the invention in which there is .a. removed all parts and appliances not immediately relevant to the device and which are assumed to be intended for controlling a single motor operating, for example, under voltages of 0, 125, 250, 375, 500 volts, when starting and, conversely, 500, 375, 250, <B> 125, </B> 0 volts, when braking.
In fig. 1, the rubbers 0, 125, 375, 500, of the drum, of a regulator C are permanently placed under the voltages 0, 125, 375, 500 volts, while the other rubbers 1 and 8 of the same drum are connected to ends of the conductors of the <B> series winding (the </B> motor.
Five running positions are thus obtained: 0. The two windings short-circuited; I. The .two windings. Powered between 0 and 125 volts; II. The two windings supplied between 125 and 375 volts; III. The two windings supplied with 0 and 375 volts; IV. The two windings supplied with 0 and 500 volts.
The motor circuit consists of the armature A, the S-series excitation winding, the shunt excitation winding d, and a field rheostat R, the connection and disconnection of which is caused automatically by the differential relay I each time the regulator passes from one position to the next position.
The circuit of the branch excitation d is supplied permanently between 0 and 125 volts, that is to say at a constant voltage, and comprises field coils in series with the field rheostat r, which can be short-circuited by the brushes 10, 11, pressing on the sectors of a coaxial drum C 'with the drum C. This last drum is intended to be set in motion by the mechanism, while the drum C 'is connected by a toothed clutch N to drum C;
the driven part of this clutch, integral with the drum <B> C </B>, has a projection p pressing constantly either against the wall .x. (starting), or against the wall y (braking) - of the notch made in the driving part g, integral with the drum C. Thanks to the play existing between the projection p and the walls x and y, it is possible to occupy the sectors -du drum C '. different positions -de those of the sectors of the drum C; it is enough for that. to turn the drum C in either direction.
When the drum C is moved from left to right so that it passes from position 0 to position I, from position I to position II, etc., the projection p comes to rest on the face x and the sectors of drum C 'remain oriented as shown in the drawing, so that the center line of the sectors. of drum C' is on the axis of the. median line passing between the void left by two sectors of drum C; when, on the contrary, the rotation of the drum C is carried out in the opposite direction.
the. projection comes to bear on the wall y, -d- so that the median line .des sectors of the drum C is placed in the extension of the axis of those, of the drum <B> C </B>.
The rotation of the drum C from left to. right corresponds to the. starting maneuver and fig. 1. shows that the <I> d, </I> shunt excitation less with the rheostat <I> r </I> inserted, occurs when the drum C occupies one of the positions. start 0, T, II, III, IV, but the more energetic excitement occurs when the drum C moves from one position to the other. On starting, the motor is therefore overexcited when passing from one pad to the other.
The rotation of the drum C from right to left corresponds to the braking maneuver; the sectors <B> of </B> drum C 'are, in this case, moved to the left, with respect to the. in. sitron indicated in the drawing, the quantity necessary so that they are located on the same line, therefore in the extension of the sectors of C. A. cause of play in the clutch N, the.
preliminary rotation of the drum C with respect to the drum C 'is thus equal to the. half of the angular opening existing between two successive positions of the drum: The result is that the motor is overexcited while the regulator C remains in any operating position and, de-energized when passing from one position to another , so that the motor is de-energized before the main contacts are made and the anti-compounding action exerted by the braking current takes place.
An analogous action occurs in the reverse starting operation, but then the motor is, on the contrary, overexcited before the compounding action exerted by the starting current occurs after the main circuits , have been closed.
The advantages which result from this arrangement are. .the following: a.) The current peaks are reduced, then the. closing of the main circuits, after each switching, is preceded by a state of overexcitation of the motor, on starting, and de-excitation, on braking; b) The intensity of the current which is to be interrupted is reduced, which is weakened not only by the automatic introduction (read rheostat R, but also by said clearance (the excitations;
c) On braking, there is an excitation greater than that developed, which is perfectly rational, if it is considered that, during starting, the excitation in series is added to the excitation in shunt and that, on the contrary. it shies away from it during braking.
In the .dispositif described above, a differential relay I operates, each time the regulator C is moved from one position to another, so as to control the insertion and exclusion of the inserted field rheostats. in. -the winding circuits.
The same result can be achieved by using another arrangement, in which the control of said rheostats would be directly controlled by the regulator itself, using a device similar to that which performs the control. Insertion and short-circuiting of the field rheostat from the bypass excitation, so that any delay is removed.
In the second embodiment (fig. 2) are shown schematically circuits modified according to this arrangement, assuming -that the device is limited to <B>. </B> the control of a single motor. and that only three different setting voltages are used, for example 125, 37 <5, 500 volts.
In this device, <B> the </B> main regulator C is provided with contact sectors, each of which corresponds to .two operating positions of the regulator control member. These positions are indicated in I-I ', II II', III-III ', IV-.IV'. The control drum C carries two <I> M and N </I> clutches, providing a difference: in the control of the axes of two auxiliary drums C 'and C ".
One of the clutches M serves to wedge the sectors of the drum C and those of the drum C ', which are in front of the rubbers 10 and 11, and, depending on whether the drum C is maneuvered in the direction of starting or in that of braking. in alternately switching on and short-circuiting or vice versa the field rheostat r. of the shunt winding.
The other clutch N performs an analogous action with regard to the sectors of the drum C and the sectors of the drum C ", which are presented in front of the rubbers 6 and 7 and allow, depending on whether one maneuver drum C in the direction of start-up or in that of braking, alternately switching on and short-circuiting or vice versa of the field rheostat of the series winding.
By the play of the clutch M, it causes, on starting, the switching on of the field rheostat r in positions I-I ', II II', III-III ', IV-IV' and its setting. short-circuit in the intervals of the change from position I 'to position II, from position II' to position III and from position III 'to position IV, during which the excitation circuit is interrupted.
When braking, the opposite effect is produced, given that the clearance of the clutch M connecting the drum C to the drum C 'is equal to half of the angular opening existing between positions I-II, II -III, III-IV as well as between the positions I'-II ', II'-III', III'-IV '.
To establish: .connections between the drums C and C ", the device is capable, at start-up, of orienting the drum C" with respect to the drum C. so that the rheos tat R is inserted in the positions I, II, III, IV.
(which first appear after each switching) and short-circuited in positions I ', II' III ', IV'. On braking, the rheostat R is instead inserted in positions I ', II', III ', IV' (which occur first during this operation) and short-circuited - in positions I, TI , III, IV.
In addition, both when starting and braking, the rheostat R must be inserted during the switching of the winding circuits.
For this to be the case, it suffices that the play existing in the clutch M which connects the drum C to the drum C "corresponds to a rotation: equal to the angle between the positions I-I ', II -II ', III-III', IV-IV '.
For the sake of clarity, in the drawing are indicated by continuous lines the positions occupied, at start-up, by the drums C 'and C "with respect to the drum C, assuming that the latter is turned to right and by dotted lines, their positions,. on braking, assuming that the drum C turns to the left.
In order to ensure a constant orientation of the entire control device, it is not only necessary that the drum C is provided, like the computer, with a notch plate -said sensitivity, in which engages a roller bu toir, pressed by a spring, which follows exactly the positions of said drum, but still that similar arrangements are adopted by the drums C 'and C ". All the stops rotate. around an axis fixed on the housing of the drum C,: so that the resistance they present to the audit:
housing is greater than the friction resistance existing between the drums C - C '<I> and </I> C-C ".
Assuming that the circumference of the ring is divided into 27 parts, the drum plate C will only have the notches necessary to establish positions 0, I, I ', II, II \, III, III', IV, IV while one and the other plate: drums C 'and C "have 27 notches, so that their different positions are always defined.
In the case admitted, the play: of the clutch M: is equivalent, at each reversal of rotation of the drum C, to a displacement of three steps of the drum <B> C '</B> and of two steps only of drum C ".
With regard to: the operation of the device, it is important to note that, both when starting and when braking, each voltage is applied to: the winding by putting the rheostat R first in circuit, then in short circuit; in this way, the current peaks due to the passage from one voltage to another are reduced.
It goes without saying that: this arrangement extends to the case of two or more motors coupled in series or in parallel. Furthermore, the number of degrees of voltage to be applied to the windings of said motors may also be correct, it is then sufficient to modify the number of sectors: of the drum C and that of its adjustment positions, without affecting either the arrangement. , nor to the orientation of the drums C 'and C ", in 1.Psquels we only have to increase the number of sectors accordingly.
A portion of the rheostat R may also be controlled by a differential relay, acting before or after the regulator, under the direct influence of which the other portion is located. @If this relay: must act in the first place to short-circuit the portion of the rheostat R which depends on it, the contacts activating it must be fixed on the drum C and be put in:
circuit both in positions I, II, III, IV and in positions I ', II', III, IV '. If, on the contrary, this relay must act in the second place to short-circuit the part @du rheostat R which depends on it, said contacts will be arranged on drum C "in a manner analogous to those which short-circuit -circuits brushes 6 and 7, so that, when starting up, it only works in positions I ', <B> il', </B> III ', IV' and, when braking, only in positions I, II, III, IV.
Finally, it should be observed that a motor excited in series behaves exactly like a simple resistance. Consequently, it is even possible to completely or partially replace the rheostat R by a -motor excited in series and capable of generating a suitable counter-electromotive force, which is wedged on the same shaft which carries the motor-generator unit,
operating as a voltage di visor and supplying the fundamental voltages 12! 5 and 250 volts. This motor will be inserted into the circuit in the place occupied by the. part of rheostat B, which is thus replaced by said motor.
In this case, the power absorbed by the motor is not completely dissipated in the form of heat; on the contrary, it is regenerated and returned to the circuit through the motor-generator unit operating as a voltage divider, to which this auxiliary motor is linked mechanically since it is wedged on the same shaft.
