Description
Silencers for explosion engines. The present invention is a muffler for explosion engines, which aims at a complete damping of the Auspuffgeiäus.ches.
According to the invention is in a housing made of metal with a cylindrical part in the middle and. on both sides at the closing conical constrictions a tube made of metal with a helical groove is inserted tightly and a tightly fitting sheet metal cylinder of the same length is inserted in the corrugated tube, which is closed on the inlet side by a protruding cone and on the outlet side flush with the Corrugated pipe and is open.
The subject of the invention is on .der with attached drawings in two exemplary embodiments for illustration, namely shows: I'ig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a silencer for a small engine, FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through a silencer for a larger engine, FIG. 3 shows a detail.
The muffler shown in Fig. 1 has a housing 1 made of metal with a cylindrical part in: the middle and @that on both sides. Subsequent conical constrictions. On the inlet side there is a connection nozzle 6 and on the outlet side there is a dovetail outlet nozzle 5. A corrugated tube 2 made of metal (fix. 3) with a helical groove is inserted in the housing 1 to fit tightly. A tightly fitting sheet metal cylinder 3 of the same length is inserted into this corrugated tube.
The sheet metal cylinder 3 is closed on the inlet side by a protruding cone, while it is flush and open with the weir pipe on the outlet side. In the case of silencers for greater engine powers, two corrugated tubes 2 of the same length are arranged in the housing 1 in accordance with FIG. 2, pushed into one another. A thin tube 4 of the same length is arranged between the corrugated tubes. X2 of course more corrugated pipes could be arranged one inside the other.
