Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 132920. Verfahren zur Darstellung eines bromhaltigen Nüpenfarbstoffes. Im Hauptpatent wurde gezeigt, dass man einen neuen und wertvollen orange färbenden Küpenfarbstoff erhält, wenn man ms-Anthra- dianthron mit einem Chlorierungsmittel be handelt.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man eben falls einen neuen und wertvollen, orange farbenden Küpenfarbstoff erhält, wenn man ins-Anthradianthron mit einem Bromierungs- mittel behandelt. Die Einführung des Broms kann sowohl durch Behandlung mit Brom als auch mit bromentwickelnden Stoffen erfolgen. Vorteilhaft arbeitet man in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren. Als solche kommen zum Beispiel Jod, Eisen, Schwefel in Frage; man kann auch in Gegenwart von Verdünnungs mitteln arbeiten.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 10 Teile m-Anthradianthron werden in 250-300 Teilen Nitrobenzol nach Zugabe von 0,5 Teilen Eisen bei 160 unter Rühren mit etwa 15 Teilen Brom versetzt. Man rührt 6 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur und saugt nach dem Erkalten ab. Der erhaltene Farb stoff, der Analyse nach ein Dibromderivat, löst sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure violett, küpt blauviolett und liefert auf Baumwolle orange Färbungen.

The introduction of bromine can take place both by treatment with bromine and with bromine-developing substances. It is advantageous to work in the presence of catalysts. For example, iodine, iron, sulfur come into consideration as such; you can also work in the presence of diluents.
<I> Example: </I> 10 parts of m-anthradianthrone in 250-300 parts of nitrobenzene are mixed with about 15 parts of bromine after adding 0.5 part of iron at 160 ° C. while stirring. The mixture is stirred for 6 hours at this temperature and filtered off with suction after cooling. The dye obtained, which is analyzed according to a dibromo derivative, dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid violet, küpt blue-violet and gives orange colorations on cotton.
