Die Reaktion wird zweck mässig in Gegenwart von Verdünnungsmit teln, wie Nitrobenzol,
gegebenenfalls in Ge- --enwart von säurebindenden Mitteln, durch geführt. Der neue Farbstoff bildet ein rötlichbraunes, kristallinisches Pulver, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit violetter Farbe löst und Wolle aus der Hy- drosulfitküpe in vollen echten rotbraunen Nuancen färbt.
