Man ver wandte daher insbesondere zum Verfahren der Deutschen Reichspatente Nr. 391091 und Nr. 392:077 nur die entsprechenden Diazo- salzlösungen, die stets frisch bereitet werden müssen und die bei der schweren Diazotier- barkeit der betreffenden Aminoazokörper für den Färber unbequem und schwierig herstellbar sind;. Die vorliegenden festen Di- azoazoverbindungen sind neue Körper;
sie sind den bisher bekannten, in entsprechend gleicher Form abgeschiedenen Diazoverbin- dungen von andern Aminoazokörpern, wel che die typischen Oxalkylgruppen nicht be sitzen, zum Beispiel den im Deutschen Reichspatent Nr. 89437 genannten, in der Gesamtheit ihrer technisch wertvollen Eigen schaften überlegen;
Process for producing a solid diazoazo compound. It has been found that the Monodia.zo-- compounds, which from such p-amino azo bodies. are available that do not contain sulfo or carboxyl groups, but an alkyloxy, aralkyl oxy or aryloxy group in the o-position to the amino group,
can be separated from their aqueous solutions in solid form and then have a good shelf life with good solubility. It was not previously known that the diazo compounds of the stated constitution can be deposited in the solid state and that they have a shelf life which is sufficient for practical use in dyeing, shipping and trade.
Therefore, in particular for the process of the German Imperial Patents No. 391091 and No. 392: 077, only the corresponding diazo salt solutions were used, which must always be freshly prepared and which are inconvenient and difficult to produce for the dyer due to the difficulty in diazotizing the aminoazo bodies in question are;. The solid diazoazo compounds present are new bodies;
They are superior to the previously known diazo compounds of other aminoazo bodies which have been deposited in the same form and which do not have the typical oxyalkyl groups, for example those mentioned in the German Imperial Patent No. 89437, in all of their technically valuable properties;
They can be used to produce azo dyes on the fiber and make it possible to supply the dyer with diazoa.zo compounds, which provide particularly valuable disazo dyes, in a directly usable form, which is essential for the production of ice colors, which of the group which belong to the secondary disazo dyes is of great importance.
The starting material used for the present process p-Aminoa.zo- bodies can be obtained by the action of diazo compounds on o-aminophenol ethers, aminocresol ethers, amino hydroquinone ethers, 1,2-aminonaphthol ethers and their derivatives, which are capable of forming p-aminoazo compounds , where sulfo or carboxyl groups should not be present in either of the two components.
The diazo compounds can be separated off by evaporation at low temperature or by precipitation, for example as a mineral or arysulphonic acid salt or as a metal double salt.
The durability and the practical value of the new diazoazo compounds do not depend primarily on the form in which they are deposited, but on the constitution of the underlying aminoazo bodies, which are characterized by the presence of an alkyloxy,
Aralkyloxy or aryloxy group in o-position to the diacotable amino group.
The present patent relates to a process for the preparation of a solid diazoazo compound, which is characterized in that paranitrobenzene - azo- 3 - amino - 4-methoxy -1-methylbenzene is converted into a solid from a solution of the diazo compound of the aminoazo body paranitrobenzene - azo- 3 - amino - 4-methoxy -1-methylbenzene by adding an alkali metal sulfate Diazonium sulfate of the formula:
EMI0002.0037
separates. The solid diazoazo compound thus obtained is a brown powder which dissolves in water with a brownish color.
Example .T To a diazonium chloride solution prepared from 286 parts of the p-amino azo body paranitrobenzene-azo-3-amino-4-methoxy-1-methylbenzoi, 250 parts of sulfuric acid of 78% and sodium sulfate are added given for complete separation. The then deposited di-a.zonium sulfate is filtered off at a low temperature, mixed with partially dewatered aluminum sulfate while still moist and dried.
Example 2: A diazotization mass prepared from 286 parts of paranitrobenzene-azo-3-amino-4-methoxy-1-methyibenzene, 70 parts of sodium nitrite and 2860 parts of 95% sulfuric acid is made to approx. Poured 10,000 parts of ice water with the addition of about 1,6001 parts of anhydrous sodium sulfate. The diazonium sulfate which separates out is filtered off and carefully dried.
