Combined reducing and safety valve. If apparatus or containers that may only be exposed to a limited maximum pressure are connected to a pressure network in which the pressure exceeds this maximum pressure, the connection is made by means of a reducing valve. The apparatus or container must then also be provided with a safety valve in the event that
that if the reducing valve functions incorrectly or as a result of internal processes in the apparatus or container, the maximum permissible pressure is exceeded in this. This is often done in such a way that a safety valve is switched on between the reducing valve and the apparatus or the container, but this increases the length of the valve to a disruptive extent.
The valve according to the present invention encloses both a reducing valve and a safety valve in a housing. When using it, the special connection of a safety valve is unnecessary, which saves material and labor, and the installation length of this double valve does not need to be greater than that of a simple reducing valve.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention in longitudinal section. In this example, the valve housing consists of two parts which are connected to each other by the screw a. The inlet connection b merges into a channel opening into the interior of the housing, the opening of which is closed by the valve c . The spindle of the valve c is fork-shaped, engages over the channel protruding inward from the connecting piece b and is connected to the diaphragm which closes the valve housing at the top and onto which from the outside the compression spring g acts. The tension of the spring - can be regulated with the screw pin i.
If a medium flows in at b at a certain pressure, the valve c remains under the action of the spring g </ I> ge opens until a certain pressure is reached inside the housing, which is never higher than that prevailing on the inflow side of valve c, but which due to its action on the membrane f and the Valve c from inside, the pressure from outside on valve c and the pressure of the spring g are able to keep the balance. By changing the tension of the spring, the pressure to be achieved in the housing can be changed. At the outlet in, which is connected to the apparatus or container to be fed, the medium can only flow out at a lower pressure than it flows in at b .
So that this reduced pressure cannot be exceeded, for example when the reducing valve closes poorly due to impurities that build up on the valve seat, or when the Ap- connected in is ready when valve c is closed or containers, for example through thermal influence, a higher pressure arises, another drain branch branches off from the valve housing, whose opening in the housing through the valve _p is completed.
This valve p is connected to the membrane r, which closes the housing at the bottom and is under the influence of a spring t, the tension of which can be regulated by the screw pin u, in such a way that when a determined, the permissible excess pressure head inside the housing the valve p is opened against the action of the spring t. If this occurs, the medium flows off through it, the pressure inside the housing drops until it has reached the permissible level again and the valve p is closed again by the spring t.
