Timepiece exhaust. The subject of the invention is a timepiece escapement, especially for pocket watches, wristwatches and other small volume timepieces.
This escapement is of an intermediate type between the lever escapement and the detent escapement of which it is a combination and combines the advantages thereof, while being more robust and less expensive to manufacture than either one or the other. other of these exhausts. From the anchor escapement, it has the advantage of perfect resumption of gear, as soon as the spring is a little loaded, while the rate of its progress is roughly the same as that of the trigger escapement. the balance receives only one impulse at each double oscillation.
Finally, the escape wheel can turn in the retrograde direction (reverse), without causing disturbances in the functioning of the escapement.
The object of the invention is characterized in that it comprises an escapement wheel with pointed teeth, a fork with two pins, without sting or horns, as well as a small plate and a large plate fixed on the axis of the balance, the small plate having a peripheral notch, while the large plate has a pin cooperating with the entry of the fork and a drive pin cooperating with the escape wheel, the pins of the fork and the pins of the large plate being arranged so that the balance receives an impulse from the escape wheel, at each double oscillation, at the moment when the fork passes through its neutral point respectively not the line of the centers.
The attached drawing shows, in plan and at. As an example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
In the drawing, one distinguishes the escapement wheel 1 with pointed teeth, fixed on the axis 2, the fork 3 fixed on an axis 4, the axis 5 of the balance, the small plate 6 and the large plate !. The plates 6 and 7 are fixed to the axis 5 of the balance, one below the other. The small plate has a peripheral notch 8, while the large plate carries two pegs 9, 10, the first of which cooperates with the entrance 11 of the fork.
The head of the fork, which has neither stinger nor horns, comprises, on either side of the inlet 11, two curved surfaces 12 cooperating with the small plate 6 to prevent the overturning of the balance, the game oven being limited by support pins 13.
The peg 10 is mounted on a plug 14 fitted with greasy friction in a corresponding hole of the large plate 7. As a result, the position of the peg 10 can be adjusted with respect to the center of rotation of the balance, by rotating the plug 14.
The fork 3 comprises two arms, each of which carries a pin 15, respectively 16, cooperating with the escape wheel 1.
The operation of the escapement described is as follows: The escape wheel 1 rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow; it is stopped by the pin 15 of the fork held pressed against the support pin 13 by the pulling effect of the .dent resting on the pin 15. The balance rotating in the direction of a clockwise, the. pin 9 engages in the entry 11 of the fork and rotates the latter, so that the pin 15 moves away from the exhaust wheel and lets it escape, while the pin 16 approach it and stop it again.
While the cleaving wheel and the fork are at rest, the balance makes the additional arc of its oscillation and then comes back to return the fork to its initial position shown in solid lines. But, before the fork passes through its neutral point, respectively through the X-X axis of the centers, the pin 16 is released from the. escape wheel 1 which escapes and is stopped again by pin 15.
During this forward movement, at a relatively large angle, of the escape wheel, one of the teeth of the latter abuts against the. pin 10 (position in phantom lines) of the large plate and gives the balance an impulse. This impulse occurs ai! moment when the escape wheel and the fork are occupying the respective positions indicated by hatching, that is to say when the balance wheel passes through its equilibrium position coinciding with the neutral point of the fork and the passage of this fork by the line X -X of the centers. Therefore, the same functions are repeated in the order described above.
The pegs 9, 10 and the pins 15, 16 could be of precious stone, for example of ruby.
