Burner for liquid fuel. The present invention relates to a burner for liquid fuel, comprising a fuel inlet pipe, the end of which is surrounded concentrically by a pressurized air inlet pipe, the end of which widens out. .
It is characterized in that this flared part contains a tubular part with relatively thin walls, one end of which is of larger dimensions than the other, the smaller one surrounding the end of the fuel pipe and the arrangement being such that 'there is, on the one hand, between the fuel pipe and the tubular part, a free annular space sufficient for the passage of the air necessary for the initiation of the flame in the interior of this part and, on the other hand, between this part and the flared part of the air duct, another annular space sufficient to allow the external cooling by the air passing through it, of the tubular part in which the flame is formed, this air then surrounding the flame and helping to complete the combustion.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Referring to this drawing, 10 is a pressurized air inlet bulb, the outlet end 11 of which is flared. In this flared part concentrically opens a fuel supply pipe 12, the end of which is surrounded by a tubular part 13. This part 13 has at one of its ends a larger opening than at the other. and the smaller one surrounds the end of the fuel line 12. The part 13 is made, for example, of sheet metal and its walls, which are relatively thin, have a curved line in longitudinal section.
The arrangement of parts 11, 12 and 13 is such that there is, between the fuel line 12 of part 13, an annular space 15 sufficient to allow the passage of the air necessary for priming. flame 14 inside this room. There is also a free space 16 between part 13 and part 11 of the pressurized air duct. The section of the annular space 15 is dimensioned so as to allow a sufficient quantity of air to pass so that, mixed with the fuel 1? coming out of the pipe 12, it allows the ignition of the flame 14 at 18.
As can be seen, this flame is not in contact with the end of the pipe 12, which in practice has an opening of relatively small dimensions, which thus prevents the fouling of this opening.
On the other hand, the section of the space 16 is such that the quantity of air passing around 13 is sufficient to cause the cooling of these walls, which allows' to make them relatively thin, in material such as prison.
The burner which is the object of the present invention is of an excessively simple and inexpensive construction and its operation is also very simple, since the air sent into the free annular spaces 15 and 16 comes from the same pipe and therefore it is not necessary to use different pressures from each other in each of these parts.
