  Verfahren zur Darstellung     eines        Gemisches    von     4.Chlor-        und        6-Chlor-5-methylisatin.       Gegenstand dieses Zusatzpatentes ist ein  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Gemisches  von     4-Chlor-    und     6-Chlor-5-methylisatin,    da  durch     gekennzeichnet,    dass man     N-p-Toluol-          sulfo-2-chlor-4-toluidid-natrium    mit     Oxalyl-          chlorid    umsetzt,

   das entstandene     Oxamin-          säurechlorid    durch saure Kondensationsmit  tel in das Gemisch von     N-p-toluolsulfo-4-          chlor-5-methylisatin    und     N-p-Toluolsulfo-6-          chlor-5-methylisatin    überführt und dieses  zum Gemisch von     4-Chlor-5-methylisatin    und       6-Chlor-5-methylisatin    verseift.

         4-Chlor-5-methylisatin        6-Chlor-5-methylisatin     Die Verbindungen sollen zur Herstellung  von     Farbstoffen    und pharmazeutischen Pro  dukten Verwendung finden,         Beispiel:

       In eine Mischung von 200 Volumenteilen  Schwefelkohlenstoff und 14     Gewichsteilen          Oxalylehlorid    werden bei 0 bis 5  32 Ge  wichtsteilen     p-Toluolsulfo-2-chlor-4-toluidid-          natrium    eingetragen und kurze Zeit zum     ge-          linden    Sieden     erhitzt.    In die wieder mit Eis  gekühlte Lösung werden 27 Gewichtsteile       Aluminimumehlorid        eingerührt,    allmählich  zum Sieden     erwärmt    und gekocht, bis  die     Chlorwasserstoffentwicklung    zu Ende  ist.

   Durch     Zemsetzung    des Reaktions  produktes mit Eis und     konzentrierter    Salz  säure erhält man .ein intensiv gelbes Gemisch  von     N-p-Toluolsulfo-5-methyl-4-    und     6-          chlorisatin.    Zur Reinigung des Gemisches       kristallisiert    man aus Eisessig um. Der  Schmelzpunkt des Gemisches     liegt    dann un  scharf bei 180 bis     190 .     



  Zwecks     Verseifung    löst man das gut ge  waschene, getrocknete und fein     gepulverte     Rohprodukt in 75 Volumenteilen konzentrier  ter Schwefelsäure und giesst nach etwa 1 Tag  in 600 Volumenteilen Wasser. Das ausfal-      Lende Gemisch von     5-Methyl-4-    und     6-chlori-          satin    wird abgesaugt, gewaschen in kochen  der verdünnter     Sodalösung    gelöst, von einer       geringen    Menge ungelösten, farblosen Kör  pers abgesaugt und das Filtrat in heisse ver  dünnte Salzsäure eingerührt. Das so gerei  nigte Gemisch ist analysenrein. Durch Kri  stallisieren aus Alkohol bildet es rote, feine  Nadeln.
