Unidirectional clutch device The present invention relates to a unidirectional clutch device for a clockwork movement.
Devices with similar functions are known which use a snap-in of two or more pawls rotating around a wolf tooth wheel (patent wheel) and which have the defect of causing a large recoil angle (dead angle). and considerable friction in the disengaged position.
Other devices use rollers or balls arranged on a star cam, each section of which has a flank aimed at the center and a slope, the tolerance of which must be extremely precise for normal operation of this device.
Accordingly, the known devices are characterized by too high friction, a complex construction requiring tolerances which are detrimental to production.
The invention proposes to obviate these defects, and consequently relates to a uni-directional clutch device for a clockwork movement, consisting of a disc arranged inside a cylinder and comprising a recess, and by a driving finger, characterized in that the outline of the disc has at least one circular sector cooperating with part of the inner surface of the cylinder,
which disc biased by an eccentric force exerted by the driving finger on the wall of said recess at at least two points corresponding respectively to the two directions of rotation of the driving finger and whose positions are such that the moment of the force exerted at the point considered is either greater or less than the moment of the friction force of the disc on the cylinder relative to the center of rotation of the disc.
The invention will be well understood by referring to the following description of an embodiment of the positive device according to the invention as well as to the appended drawing in which FIG. I shows, seen in plan, a clutch device mounted on a wheel of a reversing device in the disengaged position.
Fig. 2 shows a plan view of a clutch device in the engaged position identical to the device described in FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a section on 111-I11 of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 shows a sectional view of a double unidirectional clutch device mounted coaxially with an automatic winding mass.
Fig. 5 is a block diagram of the operation of the device according to the invention.
Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show an alternative embodiment with a safety device.
Reference is made to FIG. 5.
The operating principle of the device which will be described is as follows: Either a disc 4 freely adjusted inside a cylinder 5 of radius R and whose contour comprises a circular sector cooperating with the internal surface of the cylinder.
The disc 4 is biased in M by a force F, the direction of which is parallel to the axis of symmetry of the disc, this axis of symmetry passing through the center of rotation O.

applied to the disc is greater than the chord subtended by the arc cut by the angle of friction on the cylinder dre, the disc rotates. Conversely, if this lever arm is lower than said string, the disc remains stationary relative to the cylinder.
It is therefore possible, by varying the lever arm of the eccentric force
EMI0002.0029
whether or not to drive the cylinder 5 in rotation by means of the disc 4, therefore to produce a clutch device according to this principle. Reference is made to FIGS. 1 and 2.
The clutch device consists of a disc 4, the periphery of which has a circular sector cooperating with the internal cylindrical surface of a reversing wheel 5. This disc comprises a central recess having a spout 2.
Inside this central recess, a drive finger 1 is rigidly mounted on a central drive shaft and has three drive points for the disc 4.
The drive point, or beak 2, corresponds to a direction of rotation of the drive finger 1, and the drive points 3 and 6 which are located respectively on two opposite faces of the central recess of the disc 4 correspond to the 'other direction of rotation of feeder finger 1.
The driving points 3 and 6 are positioned so that the lever arm of the force exerted by the driving finger is greater than the string subtended by the arc cut by the angle of friction on the cylinder of the reverse wheel 5. In order to avoid friction in the disengaged position, the point of contact 6 moves the disc 4 away from the wall of the drum until the play is taken up between point 3 and point 6. The contact points 3 and 6 then drive the disc symmetrically.
On the contrary, the driving point 2 is positioned so that the lever arm of the force exerted by the driving finger is less than the string subtended by the arc cut by the angle of friction on the cylinder of the inverter wheel 5, that is to say so that the moment of the eccentric force exerted at 2 is less than the moment of the frictional force with respect to the center of rotation of the disc.
Said disc always assumes a rigorous position with respect to the center due to the section of the periphery corresponding to the circumference of the drum, avoiding any jamming.
Consequently, the eccentric force being exerted at point 2, there is no possible sliding between the disc and the drum and the drive takes place.
Reference is made to FIG. 3.
This figure shows a pinion 9 integral with the drive finger 1. The disc 4 is held in position by the cover 7 of the inverter wheel 5. This inverter wheel is freely mounted on the axle 8 and does not come into operation. movement only when the drive point 2 exerts pressure on the disc.
Reference is made to FIG. 4.
The kinetic energy of an oscillating mass 10 is transmitted by a drum 18, in one direction via the disc 14 driving the drive finger 13 integral with a pinion 11 free on its axis and meshing with a pinion 12. , and in the other direction by the disc 16 driving the drive finger 15 integral with the pinion 17 meshing with the wheel 19. The pinion 11 is idle on the axis of the pinion 17.
In this second case, the wheel 19 drives the pinion 12 which can rotate without being in frictional contact with the drum 18. This connection between the wheel 19 and the pinion 12 does not appear in this figure due to the development of the chopped off.
The present device has a very low disengagement friction which practically does not increase when the speed of rotation increases.
On the other hand, the fact that the present device applied to a winding mechanism comprises a single pivoting center gives it an advantage over a construction with pawls or satellites, where it is essential to respect the distances between the centers of ratchet pivoting, which requires high precision of the parts. Compared to a roller construction, where the roller slides along the wall when disengaged, the disc is separated from the cylinder.
There is no pressure against the wall due to the energy of the roller at high speed.
The inertia of the disc greater than that of a roller prevents any sticking and guarantees perfect operation.
It is also possible to use a disc in the form of a spring which operates a disengagement when the res comes out of the barrel is cocked, or during an impact such that the winding torque become too large bends the res out, which at its turn disengages the rotor. By bending, the driving contact point 2 moves outward and the moment of the applied eccentric force becomes greater than the moment of the frictional force with respect to the center of rotation of the disc. Consequently, the clutch takes place. An example of execution is shown in FIGS. 6, 7 and 8.
This execution comprises, in addition to the elements 1 to 6 of the first embodiment, a flexible arm 21 cut from the disc 4. The disc with its flexible arm behaves either when disengaging or when clutching like the disc. of fig. 1 and 2.
Fig. 8 shows the device at the moment of slipping due to too high a transmission torque. The flexible arm 21 has bent and the point of contact 2 has moved outward and the lever arm of the eccentric force becomes the lever arm H.> larger than the lever arm H, (fig. 7 ), the moment of the eccentric force applied is then greater than the moment of the frictional force with respect to the center of rotation of the disc and the disc disengages.
In a more sophisticated embodiment, good stabilization of the clutch torque can be obtained by using, in addition to the bending of the arm 21, the contact points 22 and 23 arranged in the same functional way as the contact points 6 and 3 but in the direction of clutch rotation. The finger 1, having caused the bending of the arm 21 under the pressure of too strong a transmission torque, can work first with the contact point 22 and then with the contact point 23. The disengagement of the disc s 'performs as described for the contact points 3 and 6, but under the pressure of the flexible arm 21 and in the direction of rotation of the clutch.
It follows without further that the same operation can be obtained with an execution having a rigid disc and a finger with a flexible arm. The possibility of housing this device directly in the oscillating weight makes it possible to obtain an extremely small recoil angle and a gain in surface and height.
