Bei Anwendung von Wasser als Lösungsmittel ist ein gewisser Überschuss an4-Dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl- 1-phenyl-5-pyrazolon von Vorteil, um die ver hältnismässig schwer lösliche Isopropylpro- penylbarbitursäiire besser in Lösung zu hal ten;
Process for the preparation of a compound from isopropylpropenylbarbituric acid and 4-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone. The present invention relates to the preparation of a compound from 1 mol. Isopropylpropenylbarbituric acid and 1 mol. 4-dimethylamino-2.
3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone. This connection cannot be obtained by slowly allowing aqueous solutions of the two starting materials to evaporate in the open air. However, it is possible to obtain them by preparing a solution saturated with the reaction product from the components and then allowing it to cool, whereby the reaction product is eliminated.
The solution, which is saturated in the heat of the reaction product, can be obtained from a dilute solution by evaporation as far as possible, expediently until the beginning of the separation of fine oil droplets; But it can also be obtained by dissolving the components in a small amount of a solvent in the heat from the start.
If water is used as a solvent, a certain excess of 4-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone is advantageous to keep the relatively poorly soluble isopropylpropenylbarbituric acid in solution;
one leaves the excess of 4-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl -1-phenyl - 5 - pyrazolone, after evaporation, isopropylpropenylbarbituric acid is first deposited. The mother liquor is then with further evaporation. Addition connection.
At 4-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl-l-phenyl-5-pyrazolone can be saved by using the mother liquor, which is obtained in the preparation of the addition compound, as a solvent for dissolving further amounts of starting materials, which is expediently as much in the heat a mixture of isopropyl-propenylbarbituric acid and 4-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone dissolves in the mother liquor in a molecular ratio of 1: 1 than is crystallized in the form of the addition compound.
When it cools down, the compound is precipitated again, in almost the same amount that is dissolved in the form of the components: -orden. This process can be repeated a number of times, and if the pulp in each case turns too yellow, it can be decolorized by shaking it with some animal charcoal at normal temperature.
Example -1, Ü -r I-dimethylamino-2. 3-dimethyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone and 1.8 g isopropylpropenylbarbituric acid are dissolved in 200 cm "of water and concentrated on the water bath until oil droplets begin to separate out. It is filtered hot and allowed to cool.
The new compound which separates out melts at 95 to 9 7 and represents the molecular compound of the two components in a ratio of 1: 1. It is soluble in alcohol, ether and benzene.
