Rone with pneumatic tires. The subject of the invention is a wheel with pneumatic ban dage.
This wheel is characterized in that it comprises a casing with round rods of circular cross section without change of curvature at the location where it bears in the rim of the wheel, this rim being shaped to receive said casing and having a wide median part, of shallow depth, and the edges of which are, seen in section, of generally oblique direction, the parts of the casing located near the rods coming to hook in this median part, which is extended by a low curvature convex part and, sectional view, generally oblique direction,
on which the outer surface of the casing gradually rests as it crashes under the action of a load.
Said wheel may comprise a rim in one piece and of such a profile that it is very easy to execute.
In addition, this rim is particularly resistant. The envelope with round rods employed may be with or without a bead tip.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, various embodiments of the invention. Fig. 1 is a cross section of a rim with the casing mounted. FIGS. 2 to 6 represent various sections that the rim of the wheel can have. As can be seen in FIG. 1, the casing A of the tire does not undergo any change in curvature at the point where it bears on the rim. This envelope .A. is round rods and has a circular cross section.
The solid lines represent the section of the envelope on an unloaded wheel and we see that the mu line, the middle line of the section of this envelope, affects the shape of a perfect circle. The envelope normally hooks into a groove a b, of the rim, followed by a part of convex curvature b c.
Part b c is constructed in this way. that the tangent at point b coincides with that of the cross section of the outer surface of the tire on the unloaded wheel and that the tangent at c merges with the tangent of the cross section of the outer surface of the tire on the wheel fully loaded. This section is represented by the dashed line op.
Depending on the intermediate loads supported by the wheel, the tangent to the outer surface of the tire will merge with that of the corresponding point of the surface l) c, the outer surface of the tire and the surface bc being always tangent at the point where they leave each other, which avoids any risk of cut or wear of the envelope at this point.
The part of the rim on which the bead rests has no straight line perpendicular to the x y axis, in the region bordering on the point cc. The tangent to the section of the rim surface in the vicinity. of a small being either normal to the axis e y, or inclined with respect to this axis.
If it is normal to the .t axis; y , point a is simply a section inflection point, and the section does not have a straight league in region a.
If, on the contrary, the tangent in ca is oblique to x: -y, the section can include a portion of a straight line in the neighborhood of a.
As for zone a. b, it has no vertical part, therefore, the tangent -tu point b is always oblique with respect to to a> y.
In addition, we see that: The throat d is shallow and very wide. The vertical distance h. said point a. at point e (height of the attachment and bearing area of the envelope) is very low.
These two arrangements facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the tire.
Fig. 1 shows a rim B, formed by a strip of metal of equal thickness. In fig. 2 the ends C of the rim have been given a certain bulge forming a bead.
In fig. 3 is shown a rim whose ends D increase in thickness of a regular tea maker from a certain point E, these ends thus having a shape similar to that of a club.
Figs. 4 and 5 are two deini-sections of rims whose edges are folded in H and Ii.
Finally, in fig. 6 there is shown a reinforced rim in its middle L-shaped part. It is understood that the rim can be constructed, in addition to the aforementioned embodiments, in any suitable manner, such as, for example, by stamping, molding, ete. . as well as be made in one piece with the rest of the wheel or in several pieces. Likewise, the reinforced parts of the rim can be distributed in any way absolutely and even be asymmetrical with respect to the median plane of the wheel.
The median line of the section of the thickness of the envelope constitutes a circle by fact, which was not the case in the envelopes used until now, which presented a more or less considerable inflection at the place where they were fixed in the rim.
