Die bis jetzt bekannten Verfahren und Einrichtungen zur Fahrzeugbremsung mit- telst des Motors haben alle das Merkmal der Kompliziertheit und der Unvollständigkeit Der Grund hierfür liegt hauptsächlich in der Mitverwendung des Einlassnöckens zur Herbeiführung der Kompressorwirkung. Zwar hat es den Anschein der -Zweckmässig keit, den Einlassnocken, der bei Kompressor betrieb des Viertalzt=Explosionsmotors rich tig steuert;
'1 und 7 angegebenen Lage I be finden.
Fig. 2 betrifft die Zweitakt-Kompressor- leistung.
Method for braking motor vehicles with an animal-cycle explosion engine by operating it as a double-turning compressor. The present invention relates to a method for braking motor vehicles with a four-stroke explosion engine by loading the same as a double-acting compressor.
The methods and devices known up to now for braking the vehicle by means of the engine all have the characteristic of complexity and incompleteness. The reason for this lies mainly in the use of the inlet lug to bring about the compressor effect. It is true that it appears to be expedient to correctly control the inlet cam, which when the Viertalzt = explosion engine is in compressor operation;
to be used with a constant effect (opening the valve with the upper dead position of the piston and closing near the lower dead position). However, this means that a special changeover flap is switched on in the suction line in order to hermetically seal the carburettor against the air blasts that arise.
Such flaps or valves tend to get dirty when they close automatically; and as a result to disturbances; but if they are operated mechanically, it still occurs. the complication of the reversing mechanism with rebels, rods and return springs.
Furthermore, the up to now known constructions of the motor brakes are partly only suitable for separate input and output control shafts located below; partly for underlying control shafts with inlet and outlet cams, everything with vertical valves, partly for underlying control shafts and. hanging valves. However, the known constructions cannot be used for control shafts lying on the cylinders. \ These deficiencies are now to be remedied by the method according to the present invention.
The novelty of the method according to the invention is that the inlet valve is shut down and the two-stroke cycle is itself achieved by controlling the outlet valve by means of the outlet cam and a counter-cam.
Thanks to this process, not only the \ closing flap or the valve in the carburetor line can be completely eliminated, but it is generally applicable due to its simplicity, since it is completely irrelevant for the effect whether a single or two control shafts are present below or above. In addition, this Ver drive still has the advantage that when adjusting the throttle lever on the steering handwheel in an intermediate position, the compression device to better throw the engine by hand or by means of a starter without any further addition of special funds is available for this purpose.
Furthermore, the braking effect is increased by the fact that, thanks to the closure of the inlet valves, the compression chamber does not yet, as in previously known constructions, the intake line space extending to the butterfly valve is added as another harmful space.
The engine, which works as a two-stroke compressor, is controlled only by means of the exhaust cam and the counter-cam to the exhaust cam, and the control shaft is expediently first shifted and then rotated by about 90, whereby the shifting of the counter-cam takes effect. which is two-way a mirror image cam of the exhaust cam.
Thanks to the process mentioned, the engine is converted into a fully correctly controlled two-stroke compressor with bleaching-sized harmful spaces for both strokes, so also bleaching-large braking effects, so that the practically maximum braking effect is achieved.
In order to simplify the mechanism of the motor, it can also be rotated at the same time when the side shift begins. 1 and 2, the cam developments and pressure diagrams of an explosion engine when operated as a four-stroke engine and as a two-stroke compressor, and in FIGS. 3 to 9 an exemplary embodiment of a device for carrying out the method are shown.
The figure; to 5 show the inlet cam E, FIGS. 6 to 8 show the outlet pins .4 ,, both with the associated tappet rollers 2 and 2, respectively. Ö, in different working positions, namely the Fig. 3 büs 6 the Ar beitsposition of the cams E and 3, for engine operation, with tappet rollers 2 and 3 in the longitudinal direction of the camshaft in the in Füg.
'1 and 7 indicated position I be. If the two cams, E and A, are now shifted by about a fifth of the Z @ Teges b, position II (FIGS. 4 and 7) is reached.
The inlet cam E is still in full effect, the outlet cam A, too; but the counter-cam = 1_, arranged symmetrically to the exhaust standard -il, already lifts the exhaust valve by distance a. on (reducing compression), as is known to be the case with every decompression device.
After the camshaft has been completely displaced in the direction of the arrow by the path b, the inlet cam E is stopped (position III in FIG. 4) - the outlet valve is raised twice in this position III (FIG. 7), namely by the cams A, and A :; In this position, subsequent maximum rotation of the control shaft results in the highest brake whirl, while intermediate positions of the rotation result in an exactly proportional weakened braking effect.
The process when braking, i.e. the transition from four-stroke engine operation to two-stroke compressor operation, is as follows: The control shaft is first shifted and then rotated by about 90, in such a way that the displacement cams A and the counter cams A2 come to the N # 'ir-
At the same time, by moving the control shaft, if this also carries the inlet cams, the tappet rollers of the inlet cams are pushed down by the latter so that they run in their new position on a concentric collar. 'In the intermediate position, corresponding to approx. a fifth of the lateral shift, the counter cam of the exhaust cam itself acts as a decompression nosing, while in this position the intake cam still has its full function.
As soon as the entire lateral shift is reached, the two-stroke compressor operation results with a braking effect proportional to the rotation. 9 shows an illustration of the handwheel 5 of the steering with the gas lever 4, which simultaneously serves as a decompression lever and an engine brake lever, that is to say combines three functions.
From 0 to 2 is slow running of the engine, at 2 it is decompression at the same time, from 0 to 1 throttle off and from 2 to 3 engine braking distance, namely the position of the throttle lever in 1 corresponds to the engine gear with full throttle respectively. Top speed, ie 3 of the highest braking effect.
In Fig. 1 and 2, the lift curves and pressure diagrams of the various NEN work processes are shown. Fig. 1 shows the curve I for the normal engine working position, the lift curve of the inlet valve E and the outlet valve A1, the pressure curve 5 resulting for four-stroke explosion work process of the engine.
Curve II shows the lift curve for the decompression position (about a fifth lateral shift of path b, FIGS. 4 and 7); The counter-cam A increases in the compression period by the path a, and the lower, dashed pressure curve 6 results.
2 relates to the two-stroke compressor output. The cams A, and A, are in the lead angle by about. 90 (direction of arrow) and control the engine as a two-stroke compressor, which sucks in its air from the exhaust pipe and expels it again through the same.
It can be seen from the above that, according to this braking process, the engine works as an absolutely precisely controlled two-stroke compressor with harmful spaces of the same size for both strokes, ie also with a uniform braking effect with a practically achievable maximum braking power.
If a simplified device is desired for this, you can also let the rotation of the camshaft begin at the same time as the beginning of the side shift. The devices for this, as in general for the displacement and rotation of rotating shafts are ge sufficiently known, so that a description of the same was not included.
