Les fi-. 1 à 12 des dessins annexés mon trent, à titre d'exemple, des formes d'exé cution de l'objet de l'invention; La fig. 1 est une coupe verticale trans versale de la portière avant de la. carrosserie suivant la. ligne A-B de la fig. 2; Les fig. 2, 8 et 4 sont respectivement une coupe verticale, une coupe horizontale et une coupe verticale partielle suivant les lignes C-D, E-17, G-H de la fig. 1; La fig. 5 est une coupe verticale de la portière arrière, dans un plan correspondant à. celui de la fig. 2;
La fig. 6 est une coupe partielle, à une plus grande échelle, suivant la ligne I-J de la fig: 5; La fig. 7 est une vue schématique d'une forme d'exécution de l'invention, que Les fig. 8, 9 et 10 montrent respective ment en élévations -de face et de profil et en coupe suivant la ligne K-L de la fig. 9;
Guiding device for glazed vehicle frames. The present invention relates to a device for guiding glazed vehicle frames, said device comprising guide arms of which at least one is articulated by a pivot to the glazed frame and another to the body, one of the arms being provided with A support member, the whole arranged so that the glazed frame rests on the guide arms by an articulation pivot and by the support member, and is maintained parallel to its. starting position in all travel positions.
This device is applicable to series body vehicles and, in particular to convertible coachwork of motor vehicles, with a view to guiding the windows, or more generally the window frames, when they are lifted into their position. on duty. As there is always a certain clearance between a glazed frame and the walls of the. between which it is guided, the necessity of guiding the chassis so that it is placed in a strictly determined position at the top of its stroke has been recognized, since it is essential that it rests against the body in order to to avoid vibrations during the. market.
The fi-. 1 to 12 of the accompanying drawings show, by way of example, embodiments of the object of the invention; Fig. 1 is a transverse vertical section of the front door of the. body according to the. line A-B of fig. 2; Figs. 2, 8 and 4 are respectively a vertical section, a horizontal section and a partial vertical section along the lines C-D, E-17, G-H of FIG. 1; Fig. 5 is a vertical section of the rear door, in a plane corresponding to. that of FIG. 2;
Fig. 6 is a partial section, on a larger scale, along the line I-J of FIG: 5; Fig. 7 is a schematic view of an embodiment of the invention, which FIGS. 8, 9 and 10 show respectively in front elevations and in profile and in section along the line K-L of FIG. 9;
Figs. 11 and 12 are two vertical sections taken respectively along lines -11-11Y (fig. 12) and O-P (fig. 11) and showing another embodiment of the invention.
In fig. 1. to 4, 1 designates the frame of the front door, 2 the excavation provided therein and 3 the glazed frame which is fixed in known manner on two brackets 4 guided vertically by the walls of the excavation. At a fixed point 5 located at the bottom of the excavation are articulated two guide arms 6 forming an articulated parallelogram with two crossed guide arms 7 which, in turn, form a parallelogram with two auxiliary guide arms 8 articulated at 9 <i , a tab 10 fixed to, a horizontal bar 11 fixed to the brackets 4. The guide arms 7 extend to under the bar 11 and apply against the latter rollers 12 freely mounted on their pivots so as to be able to roll against the bar. bar 1.1.
The attachments 5 and 9 are located in the same vertical plane which is the plane of symmetry of the guide arms 6, 7 and 8.
It can be seen that when the frame 3 is raised or lowered, the parallelograms formed by the guide arms 6, 7 and 7, 8 are deformed while maintaining the rollers 12 always applied with equal pressure against the bar 11. That -Here and, consequently, the glazed frame are firmly supported by the rollers on either side of the attachment 9 so that they always remain parallel to the diagonal joining the pivots 13, 13 of the parallelogram formed by the guide arm 6, 7. No tilting of the chassis 3 can occur, even if the latter is dis symmetrical as in the example considered, so that the chassis will always come to rest exactly against the bodywork.
The operation of the glazed frame can be controlled by any suitable means. We have. shown in fig. 1 and 2 a ring 14 which serves as a handle for raising or lowering the frame. A spring 15 tensioned between the pivots 13 partially balances the weight of the frame and facilitates the lifting of the latter.
To fix the glazed frame in its service position, action is preferably taken on the vertical parts of the brackets 4 by means of cams 16 wedged on an axis 17 which can rotate in bearings 18 under the action of a handle 19. This axis and its bearings are housed in a recess 20 made in the inner wall 21 of the. excavation as indicated by the fie, -. 1. Between the cams 16 and the vertical parts of the brackets 4 are interposed blocks 22 pierced with short grooves 23 traversed by the screws 24 which attach them to the uprights of the frame 1 so as to leave these blocks the freedom of movement necessary for wedge or release the brackets 4 depending on the position of the cams 16.
When the door is with a cut corner, as is the case for the rear doors of many current bodywork, one of the brackets 4 is replaced by a bracket 25 including the. position and the attachment with the frame are reversed (fi ,,,,. 5) so that the rounded plane 26 does not obstruct the descent of the mechanism.
The glazed frame 27 shown in this figure has a metal frame formed by a strip of sheet 28 re folded in the shape of a U (fib. 6) key so as to stir it. window 29 and to form, in the curvature of the U, a tubular housing in which a pin 30 integral with the square is inserted, while for the square 4 this pin is, as in Usually, in the extension of the lower part of the square, the pin 30 key the square 25 is fixed to the end of the horizontal branch thereof, the whole of the square and its pin forming a Z.
In fig. 5, the guide mechanism is equivalent to that of the, fi-. 2, but an additional parallel blade has been provided in order to reduce the width of the space in which the guide arms can be folded.
Following the. fi--. 7, we can eliminate all the guide arms located in the bottom of the excavation, if we take as a fixed point of the guide arms, no longer point 5, but the point 0 where the two guide arms 7 cross. The guide arms are thus reduced to the four guide arms indicated in strong lines on the fi-. 7 which significantly simplifies and lightens the construction. The guiding device shown in FIGS is then obtained. 8 to 10, in which the fixed point 0 is located as far as possible at mid-height of the excavation delimited by frame 1.
When the window is lowered, the attachment 9 descends vertically, the rollers 12 move along the arcs of a circle, the mechanism reverses around point 0 and the guide arms 7 and 8 assume the positions 7 ', 8 'shown in dotted lines in FIG. 8. For this movement to be possible, the guide arms 7 and 8 are mounted outside the sliding plane of the frame 3, as shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the pivot 0 being carried by one of the side walls 21, 31 of the frame 1, which can be reinforced at this location.
When the weight of the. ice is not excessive, we can further simplify the mechanism and reduce the number of guide arms to two, by removing one of the guide arms 7 and the corresponding guide arm 8. In order to make this arrangement effective from the point of view of guiding the ice, the fixed point 0 and the attachment 9 are then placed as close as possible to one of the sides of the excavation 2.
Figs. 11 and 1 \ 2 show the adaptation of this mechanism to a motor car door with a transformable body. To the pivot 0 mounted in a tab 32 fixed at mid-height of the frame 1 of the door is articulated the guide arm 7 which carries the roller 12 and at the pivot point 33 of the guide arm 7 is articulated the guide arm 8 which, on the other hand, is articulated at 9, either directly to the glazed frame 3. or as in the drawing to a bar 11 fixed to the guide angles 4 of the frame 3. So that the latter remains applied against the arms of guide, the roller 12 is engaged in a slide 34 formed in the bar 11.
The usual compensating spring, shown at 15, can be attached, on the one hand, at 35 to the upper edge 36 of the frame 1 and on the other to a suitable point 37 of the lever 7. As shown in the drawing, the distances between the pivots 0 and 33, between the pivots 9 and 33, and between the pivot 33 and the axis of the roller 1.2 are strictly equal to each other (fig. 12) and the guide arms 7, 8 as well as the pivot 0 are mounted outside the sliding plane of the frame 3 (fig. 11).
When the window 29 is lowered, by acting for example on the handle 14, the pivot 9 descends vertically, while the roller 12 and the pivot 33 respectively describe arcs of a circle a and b around the point 0 and, as well as in the previous case, the mechanism is reversed and comes to occupy the position 7 ', 9', 11 ', 12', 15 ', 33', 37 'indicated in dotted lines at the bottom of FIG. 12. We can see, using the fi. 8 to 12, that in addition to the elimination of a large number of guide arms and articulations, the raising of the fixed point makes it possible to move the support points of the chassis further apart from each other. 3 in its raised position, which is favorable for guidance.
The maximum separation is achieved by the arrangement according to FIGS. 11 and 12 which is particularly advantageous for narrow windows because it allows the pivot 9 to be mounted very close to the edge of the frame 1, while the lateral displacement of the roller 12 is reduced due to the great length of the guide arm 7 It will therefore suffice to give the slide 34 a short length.
In order to avoid vibrations, the roller 12 can be lined with rubber and mounted between two rubberized washers 38 embracing the bar 11 (fig. 11). ISc roller 12 is moreover only subject to very slight fatigue because, unlike the lifting mechanisms which make use of crossed levers and smooth necks, the mechanism described is essentially used to guide the ice, the operation of which is is preferably carried out using a member, such as the handle 14, which is completely independent of the set -de levers.
In these positions, the wear is negligible all the more so since, in its service position, the glass is wedged by a -mechanism such as that described above and shown in detail in FIGS. 2 to 4.
