Description
Method of manufacturing electric radiators. Electrical heating elements are already known in which the resistance wire is embedded in a ceramic insulation compound and covered with a hollow body which, for the purpose of compressing the insulation compound, is compressed with a reduction in cross section.
This cross-sectional reduction was achieved either by pulling the entire heating resistor through a drawing iron or by pressing it in. Achieved rolling grooves into the hollow body using a pressure directed from the outside inwards.
In the case of the radiator, which is manufactured according to the present process, the shape of the outer hollow body remains unchanged. The compression of the heat conductor, inserted into a hollow body and surrounding the loose insulation material, is brought about by a pressure directed from the inside to the outside. To generate this pressure, one or more cores are expediently driven into the insulation compound, respectively. pulled through. In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the heater in Figs. 1, 2 and 3 is shown.
Fig. 1 shows the radiator before the pressure treatment. wherein in the Hohlkör by a, the ceramic insulation compound b loosely surrounds the heating conductor c; FIG. 2 shows how a core d is inserted into the insulation mass while compressing it from the inside outwards; Fig. 3 shows a finished heating body.
The insulation compound that was previously loosened has become so firm due to the extraordinarily high tensile pressure that no further internal reinforcement is necessary, which, however, could easily be attached if a special purpose of use should make it necessary. \
