Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Fig. 3 zeigt einen fertigen Heizkörper.

  Method of manufacturing electric radiators.

   Electrical heating elements are already known in which the resistance wire is embedded in a ceramic insulation compound and encased in a hollow body which, for the purpose of compressing the insulation compound, is compressed with a reduction in cross section. This cross-section reduction was achieved either by pulling the entire heating element through a drawing die or by pressing or rolling grooves into the hollow body using pressure directed from the outside inwards.

   The shape of the outer hollow body remains unchanged in the case of the radiator which is manufactured according to the present method. The compression of the loosely poured insulation compound is brought about by an outward pressure. In order to generate this pressure, one or more cores are expediently driven into or pulled through the insulation compound.

   In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. Fig. 1 shows the radiator before the pressure treatment, the insulation compound b loosely surrounding the heating conductor c in the hollow body a. Fig. 2 shows how. a core d is inserted into the insulation mass while compressing it. Fig. 3 shows a finished radiator. The previously loose insulation compound has become so firm due to the extraordinarily high pull-through pressure that no further internal reinforcement is necessary; However, if a special purpose should make such a requirement, it can be attached easily.

    . PATENT CLAIMS '
1. A method for producing electrical heating elements with resistors embedded in ceramic insulation material, characterized in that the loose insulation material which is introduced into a hollow body and surrounding the heating conductor is compressed by applying pressure from the inside to the outside.
