Description

Automatic float valve. The present invention relates to an automatic float valve.

The attached drawing shows one embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example.

Fig. 1 is a section showing the position of the various members when the valve is fully open, and FIG. 2 is a similar section with the organs in the position corresponding to the closed valve.

. In a water tank 1, for example the tank of a -chasse apparatus indicated in the drawing by a fragment of wall, is -adapted an automatic tap 2 by means of a nut 3 tightened on the thread of its tubing posterior 4, which for this purpose crosses the -pa king of the reservoir.

In the bore of the pipe 4 is fixed the conduit 5 for supplying emz under pressure, which opens into the body of the valve and which is closed by a valve 6, in the form of a horizontal piston housed in a pipe 7, coming of cast iron with the body of the valve and oriented in the extension of the horizontal axis of the pipe 4, The closing operation of the valve 6 is controlled automatically by a float whose rod 8 oscillates on a fixed journal 9 on the tubing 7.

The end 10 of the float rod, a. the shape of a fork in which engages the upper end of a control lever 11 which pivots on a journal 12 fixed under the pipe 7. This lever is curved in the shape of a cro, chét and presents the turned side towards the valve 6, a roller 13, rolling on the journal 14 fixed to the lever and -constantly in contact with said valve.

The upper end of the lever II which is engaged in the fork 10, has along the line of contact with the rod of the float a cam composed of a lower concave part 15 and of a rectilinear upper part 16, on which a roller 17 moves, the journal 18 of which is fixed to the two branches 10 of the fork; towards their birth.

The operation of the valve is as follows. When the float is at the bottom of the tank and the rod 8 in the position shown in fig. 1, the roller 17 is based on the. concave part 15, of the: cam, leaving enough clearance for the valve 6 to be discharged by the pressure of the water arriving in the pipe 5 and discharging into the reservoir 1 through the outlet pipe 19.

A as the water level rises in tank 1, the float is raised and, its rod 8 with fork 10 oscillates around the trunnion 9, so that his 17 pebble goes up on the -ea.me, first on his. curved part 7 5 and then on the rectilinear part 16. The movement of the roller 17 along the cam has the effect of gradually approaching:

le le vier It. of the valve body, dc @ so that lc- lo-alet 13, constantly in contact with the valve 6, pushes the latter into the interior of the pipe 7 to. which it closes in an all-out way. seals the mouth of the pipe 5 ending in the valve.

The advantage of the valve described lies in the use of rollers, both for 1a. valve only for controlling this maneuver by the cam lever.

The gradual obturation thus obtained is more regular, that is to say without sc: coussee and more effective, that is to say without seizing of the members in contact or friction.
