Description

       Les fig. 1 à 6 de la planche unique jointe montrent; à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exé cution de l'objet de l'invention.

  La     fig.    1 représente la pièce métallique  principale, en coupe     longitudinale;     La     fig.    2 est une coupe     longitudinale    au  travers .d'une     douille;     La     fig.    3 est une vue     d'une        douille;     La     fig.    4 est une     coupe        d'une        douille    par  un     plan        perpendiculaire    à son axe;

      La fig. 5 montre en coupe un des évide ments de la pièce principale avec l'extrémité du câble qu'il est destiné à recevoir et la douille y relative; La fig. 6 .est, à plus grande échelle, une ,coupe perpendiculaire à l'axe, selon la ligne A-B de la fig. 5.

  Junction device for overhead cable lines. The object of the present invention is a junction device for overhead cables comprising a main metal part, a.le provided with two truncated recesses with parallel axes and two metal sockets:

  removable longitudinally split, cylindrical on the inside and frustoconical on the outside, the outer surfaces of the bushings adapting exactly to the inner ones of the recesses of the main part.

  The object of the invention is to produce a solid junction, - without welds and inexpensive - while offering only a very low contact resistance.

       Figs. 1 to 6 of the attached single plank show; by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.

  Fig. 1 shows the main metal part, in longitudinal section; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through .d'une bush; Fig. 3 is a view of a socket; Fig. 4 is a section of a bush through a plane perpendicular to its axis;

      Fig. 5 shows in section one of the recesses of the main part with the end of the cable which it is intended to receive and the relevant socket; Fig. 6. Is, on a larger scale, a section perpendicular to the axis, along line A-B of FIG. 5.

  The main metal part is represented at 1 and has two recesses with frustoconical surfaces 2 and 2 '. A removable metal sleeve is shown at 3 (fig. 2, 3 and 4).

  The inner surface 4 of each socket 3 is cylindrical, while its outer surface 5 is frustoconical and adapts exactly to the surface 2 of the recess of 1. Each socket is cut over its entire length by a longitudinal slit 6.

  The assembly of the parts and the operation of the junction device is shown in figs. 5 and 6. Each of the two ends of the .cables 7 to be joined by means of the device described is introduced .in the recess with a frustoconical face 2-; it is then provided, immediately. Below its outer layer 8, of the bush 3. A traction exerted on the cable thus prepared compresses it.

    outer layer 8 against the surface 2 at the same time as the sleeve 3, thanks to the elasticity conferred on it by the longitudinal slot 6, is compressed, on the one hand, against the same outer layer 8, and, on the other hand, against the inner layer 9 of the cable.

  A very favorable contact is thus made between the surface 2 and the two layers 8 and 9 of the cable by means of the sleeve 3, given the symmetry of the device described between the two cables joined by its intermediary. As any traction exerted on the cable can only have the effect of increasing the pressures exerted on surfaces 2, 5 and 4, such actions do not cause a decrease in the strength of the joint, nor an increase in the resistance. opposed to the flow of current.
