Description

Elastic tube for the flow of fluids, with closing device. The elastic tubes, for example of rubber, which are used for the flow of fluids such as water, gas, etc., are generally provided, for their closing or opening, with taps, which are currently very expensive.

The elastic tube according to the invention is provided with an extremely simple and inexpensive closing device. This tube is characterized in that it forms an elbow and is provided with a slide with two eyes, in each of which passes one of the branches of the elbow, the whole in such a way that, when by a relative movement of the branches and the slide, we bring it near the top of the elbow, we produce the closure of the tube.

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view thereof, the tube being open; fig. = 2 is a perspective view as well, the tube being closed (->; Fig. 3 shows the slide in detail.

(As can be seen in Fig. 1, the tube a is di.l ">.,:, 1e so as to present an elbow c. It is, moreover, provided with a metal slide 1 comprising two eyes 2 in each of which passes one of the branches of the elbow.

In the open position shown in fig. 2, the slider is moved away from the top of the elbow so that the fluid cannot flow freely therein; to close the pipe, it suffices to move the slider towards the top of the tube, as shown in fig. 2. The pipe closure is then produced at the top of the pipe, a closure strong enough to resist relatively high pressures.

The slide, shown in more detail in fig. 3, is formed by a single plate of metal, of tin, for example, of which two opposite edges have been folded inwards so as to form the two eyes 2. Obviously, the invention is not limited to this construction of the slide.

For the closure, we could well leave the slide stationary and move the tube, or one of the branches of it only, so that the elbow: approaches the slide. Only the relative movement of the two parts matters.
