Description

  

  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Quecksilbersalzes der komplexen     Bismutylweinsäure.       Es wurde gefunden, dass eine komplexe       Wismutverbindung    der Weinsäure     mitQueck-          silbersalzen    zu einer Verbindung zusammen  tritt, die als Quecksilbersalz der komplexen       Bismutylweinsäure    anzusehen ist. Die Dar  stellung der neuen Verbindung kann in der  Weise geschehen, dass die komplexe     Bismutyl-          weinsäure    in Form ihrer     Alkalisalze,    wie  z. B. das     bismutylweinsaure    Kalium (Zeit  schrift für anorganische Chemie 48, 208  (1906), mit Salzen des Quecksilbers umge  setzt werden.

    



  Das Präparat soll bei der Behandlung der  Syphilis Verwendung finden. Der Gehalt  des Präparates an Wismut und Quecksilber  schwankt je nach der Menge der angewand  ten Komponenten; seine Giftigkeit ist ge  ringer als die der     wismutfreien    Verbindun  gen mit gleichem Gehalt an     Quecksilber,     anderseits ist im Tierversuch die therapeu  tische Wirkung des Wismuts durch die       Quecksilberkomponente    verstärkt.    <I>.

   Beispiel:</I>  10     gr        bismutylweinsaures    Natrium wer  den in 500 ccm Wasser gelöst und in eine  schwach     mit    Salpetersäure angesäuerte Lö  sung von 6,5     gr        Merkuronitrat    in 150 ccm  Wasser eingegossen. Es fällt ein     weisser,     gallertiger Niederschlag, der nach dem Aus  waschen und Trocknen ein schweres, weisses  Pulver mit einem Gehalt von etwa 40  Wismut und     34%    Quecksilber bildet.

It has been found that a complex bismuth compound of tartaric acid combines with mercury salts to form a compound which is to be regarded as the mercury salt of the complex bismuthyltartaric acid. The presentation of the new compound can be done in such a way that the complex bismuthyltartaric acid in the form of its alkali salts, such as. B. the bismutyltartaric acid potassium (journal for inorganic chemistry 48, 208 (1906), with salts of mercury is implemented.

    



  The preparation is said to be used in the treatment of syphilis. The bismuth and mercury content of the preparation varies depending on the amount of components used; its toxicity is lower than that of the bismuth-free compounds with the same mercury content; on the other hand, the therapeutic effect of bismuth is enhanced by the mercury component in animal experiments. <I>.

   Example: </I> 10 g bismutyltartaric acid sodium are dissolved in 500 ccm water and poured into a solution of 6.5 g mercury nitrate in 150 ccm water that is weakly acidified with nitric acid. A white, gelatinous precipitate falls which, after washing and drying, forms a heavy, white powder with a content of about 40 bismuth and 34% mercury.

Claims

PATENT CLAIM; Process for the preparation of a mercury salt of the complex bismuthyltartaric acid, consisting in combining solutions of the complex bismuthyltartaric acid in the form of its alkali metal salts with mercury salts; the product described in the example is precipitated as a white precipitate which, after washing and drying, forms a heavy, white powder. The bismuth content of the preparation varies depending on the amount of the components used.

Its toxicity is lower than that of the knowledge-free compound with the same mercury content; on the other hand, the therapeutic effect of bismuth in animal experiments is enhanced by the mercury component.
