Description

Process for the preparation of bismuth salts of mercured, organic, compounds containing an acid residue. It has been found to be too therapeutic important compounds containing mercury and bismuth at the same time can, if one uses organic mercury compounds that contain an acid residue, brings together in the form of their alkali salts with bismuth salts. The new connections are characterized by a powerful effect on syphilis and are less toxic, than should be expected from their mercured compound content. Examples. i. 10 g of mercuric acid are dissolved in 100 cc of water with the addition of sodium hydroxide solution dissolved and treated with a solution of 9.5 g of bismuth chloride in 10 cc of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 50 cc of water are combined. A white, voluminous precipitate forms, the after drying, contains 33.9 percent mercury and 36 percent bismuth.

2. 7,7 g o-Oxyquecksilberbenzoesäure (Berichte der Deutsch. Chem. Chem. Ges. 35, p. 2870 [19o2]) are dissolved in 25 cc of double normal sodium hydroxide solution with the addition of 700 cc of water and treated with 6.3 g of bismuth chloride, which is contained in 10 ccm of concentrated hydrochloric acid and 2o ccm of water are added. A white, flaky precipitate is formed which, after drying, contains 38 percent mercury and 33 percent bismuth.

3. 3,5 g Oxyqueclcsilberanthranilsäureanhydrid (Berichte der Deutsch. Chem. Ges. Chem. Ges. [7 [191q.], P. 1937) are dissolved in 12 cc of double normal sodium hydroxide solution and 800 cc of water and mixed with 3.15 g of bismuth chloride, dissolved in 5 cc concentrated hydrochloric acid and 2o ccm of water. The salt deposited as a white precipitate contains 28 percent mercury and 38 percent bismuth after drying.

q.. .4 g Oxyquecksilberessigsäureanhydrid (Berichte der Deutsch. Chem. Man erhält so das oxymercuriessigsaure Wismut als weißen Niederschlag.q ... 4 g of oxymercury acetic anhydride (Reports of Deutsch. Chem. Ges. 41 [19o8], p. 2o9o) are brought into solution with 15 ccm of water and the necessary amount of double normal sodium hydroxide solution (about 12 ccm) and with q. g bismuth nitrate dissolved in as little dilute nitric acid as possible. The oxymercuric acid bismuth is thus obtained as a white precipitate.

Das oxymercuriphenoxyessigsaure Wismut fällt als weißer Niederschlag aus.5. 3.5 g of oxymercuriphenoxyacetic acid (Patent 261229, Frederick 1 ä nder XI, 1105) are dissolved in 15 cc of water with the addition of 1 cc of double normal sodium hydroxide solution and mixed with a solution of 2.5 g of bismuth nitrate in as little dilute nitric acid as possible. The bismuth oxymercuriphenoxyacetic acid precipitates out as a white precipitate.

A solution of 8.8 g of sodium oxymercurisulfosalic acid (patent specification 2i6267, F r i e d l ä n d e r IX, 1070) in 20o cc water are mixed with 3.2 g bismuth nitrate dissolved in a little dilute nitric acid, added, the bismuth salt of oxyrnercurisulfosalicylic acid as a white precipitate separates out.
