Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et une installation de séparation d'une suspension C d'une suspension a, la fraction de particules Pc dans la suspension C, qui possèdent un diamètre inférieur à un diamètre de grain limite définie, étant plus grande que dans la suspension A d'un facteur d'au moins 2. La suspension A (110) est introduite dans un récipient (100) s'étendant de bas en haut et une suspension B (118) est retirée du récipient sous la forme d'un premier courant partiel, dont la fraction de particules avec un diamètre supérieur au diamètre de grain limite défini est augmentée par rapport à une suspension A. Du fait que la suspension C est retirée du récipient dans un second courant partiel (112, 113) au-dessus du premier courant partiel (118), en ce que la vitesse d'écoulement de la suspension C est supérieure à la vitesse de sédimentation des particules Pc contenues à l'intérieur de celui-ci, une séparation efficace peut être obtenue.
