Description

WATER DRAINAGE DEVICE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] This invention relates to water drainage devices and more particularly to water drainage devices for sanitary facilities such as floor-level shower areas.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] The invention relates to a water drainage device for a sanitary facility, such as a floor-level shower area. Such water drainage devices within the prior art include a water outlet device such as described within DE 20 2010 007 534 Ul by the applicant. The base part constitutes a smooth element, projecting in the direction of a channel cover, with a slightly conical pin, which is arranged on the water outlet member. A disadvantage of the known water drain device is that the foot after removal of the gutter cover on the water drain element remains, making the cleaning process more difficult.
[003] Furthermore, with reference to DE 10 2004 049 944 Al, there is disclosed a height-adjustable water flow device comprising a plurality of holding means with threaded bolts and a sleeve. The threaded sleeve is mounted on the bottom of the drain pan. The upwardly projecting threaded sleeves may prove to be disadvantageous for the same reason above in respect of cleaning.
[004] It is accordingly an object of the invention to provide a new water outlet device with an improved access for cleaning and inspection. The water outlet device allows easy removal and insertion of the channel cover together with the height adjusting device with a handle for tools.
[005] Other aspects and features of the present invention will become apparent to those ordinarily skilled in the art upon review of the following description of specific embodiments of the invention in conjunction with the accompanying figures.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0029] The present invention is directed to water drainage devices and more particularly to water drainage devices for sanitary facilities such as floor-level shower areas.
[0030] The ensuing description provides exemplary embodiment(s) only, and is not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the disclosure. Rather, the ensuing description of the exemplary embodiment(s) will provide those skilled in the art with an enabling description for implementing an exemplary embodiment. It being understood that various changes may be made in the function and arrangement of elements without departing from the spirit and scope as set forth in the appended claims.
[0031] The invention relates to water drainage devices and more particularly to water drainage devices for sanitary facilities such as floor-level shower areas. This object is achieved by a water drainage device of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1, in that:
- The head part has a groove to be compatible with the cover, which has bearing member remote from the foot to which is it connected, which is non-positively or positively connected with the channel cover;
- The water discharge element comprises at least one recess, on which the foot rests loosely; and - The entire height adjustment device with the trough cover together from the gutter-shaped water drain element is removable and can be used in the water drain element.
[0032] The gutter cover is flat and strip form, such as a section of a flat iron, or can be profiled. When profiled gutter cover is employed it is preferably a C-section.
However, the use of other types of profiles, such as an H- or U-shaped profile, is also possible.
[0033] The support element may be a portion of a C- or U-shaped profile, which fits inside the gutter cover. This creates a positive connection of the channel cover with the bearing element, which can be realized by simple terminals. Pinched for example, between the U-legs of the support element and the channel cover. The clamping effect can be supported that the U- leg of the overlay element which have a greater elasticity than that of the channel cover and deform under stress.
[0034] The supporting element can engage in a snap connection with the channel cover by at least one locking projection that engages into a corresponding recess of the counter element.

Preferably, the locking projections on the U-legs of the support element, and cutouts are arranged on the U-legs of the gutter cover.
[0035] In a variant embodiment, the support member may include at least locally be glued to the channel cover. It is also possible to integrate the support member in the tray cover material, when the two parts are made in one piece of material, for example of thermoplastic material.
[0036] An essential feature of the invention is therefore a detachable accommodation of the foot in the depression of the trough-shaped water drain element to grant a sufficient positional stability of the channel cover. To achieve the object, a positive connection of the base part is provided with the recess.
[0037] The positive connection of the foot with the depression in the present case of two mutually coaxial cylindrical surfaces, such as an inserted into a blind bolt hole, exist. Here, a firm fit in all directions of the cylinder axis plane perpendicular. The cylindrical surfaces may be modulated or trained with conical, with one another of the contacting surfaces combined.
The form-fitting requires no free play or al-most play-free contact between the two surfaces.
The form-fitting connection can be formed by two mutually compatible oval, kidney-shaped or polygonal surfaces. In any case, the foot and thus the whole height adjustment device including cover can be removed from the well with a handle and used again.
[0038] The head part may be integral with the base part of a screw connection, a detent connection, in particular resilient snap connection or a combined screw connection, wherein the sliding foot on the head part can be fixed to the foot part. This is particularly advantageous because the installation height of the covering over the surface of the completely formed, for example, occupied with tiles, shower floor only once, i.e. in connection with the initial installation, must be set. After the desired installation height has been set, this installation height can be fixed by the foot and the head part which are tightened by a screw against each other.
[0039] If in the following, for example for cleaning, the cover is removed, there is no danger that the set height is changed unintentionally. The cover element with fixed foot parts can be frequently assembled and dismantled without the height being changed. However, a release of the fixing is not excluded, as this may be required, for example for replacement of defective parts.
[0040] The entire height-adjusting device including channel cover can be made of metal, in particular of a stainless steel, and / or be made of plastic.
[0041] The compounds of the head part to the foot part are described in detail below. The invention is explained in more detail in conjunction with the drawings.
[0042] Terms such as "top", " top", " bottom", "bottom ", " bottom ", etc.
refer to the built-in a base plate of a square shower water drain device , as shown in the drawing.
[0043] A shown in Figure 1 a water outlet device 100 for a schematically the subscribed in Figure 12, floor-level shower area 200 consists of an elongated water drainage element 3, a form adapted to the water drain element gutter cover 4 and two height adjustment means 10.1 together. In Figure 12, four such mounting / height adjustment means are seen 10.1. The number of height adjustment devices 10.1 may vary, generally ranging from two height adjustment devices 10.1, which should preferably be placed at both ends of the cover 4, upwards. Further, Figure 1 shows a housing 56 connected and therein sealed drain port 55 for connection with a drain in Figures 12 and 14, with dashed lines indicated rectangular drain pipe 5 as in Figure 1 is indicated, the drain port 55 may optionally be circular or have polygonal, preferably square cross section.
[0044] The water drain element 3 is in a known manner in a base plate 51 (see Figure 12) is let in, the bottom panel of the base plate, for example tiles, with the turned setting the channel cover 4 in height (see Figure 14). Here, in the embodiment, a groove extending around the cover 4 around opening 9 for discharge of effluent into the water drain element 3 is provided.
Alternatively, or in addition to the opening 9 and other features, in principle, any desired perforations or openings may be provided, which are suitable for a discharge of waste water into the water drain element 3.
[0045] The water drainage element 3 shown in Figures 1, 10 and 11, has two recesses 6 to accommodate vertical adjustment of the device with detail in section A (see Figure 2) are shown. Accordingly, the recess 6 is formed in two stages and adapted to a foot part 2 of the height adjustment device 10.1 (see Figure 3). The recess 6 has an upper, flat, ring-shaped trough 52 and a lower conical recess 53 (see Figures 10 and 11, as seen from below).
[0046] As the Figure is shown in Figure 3, the foot part 2 has a barrel-shaped hollow body 54 and engagement to the trough 52 of the recess 6 via compatible circular base 13, the lowest part of the hollow body 54 is free from backlash adaptable to the lower trough 53 of the recess 6. The circular base 13 is a circumferential groove 21 for receiving a sealing element 22, shown in Figure 4, the sealing element 21 is compressed during insertion of the foot part 2 in the groove 6.
[0047] According to Figure 13 on the external thread 23 a measuring scale 25 is arranged with the help of the height position of the foot part can be adjusted against the headboard 1. The measuring scale 25 is added to a thread under refracting surface 26.
[0048] Optionally, the foot part 2 of a tapered central leg 62 projecting upwardly has a threaded bolt 63. The base is screwed with its threaded bolt 63 in a sleeve 65 of the head portion with internal threads 64. Such a simple embodiment (height adjusting device 10.7) is shown in Figure 15.
[0049] The head part 1 forms with the base portion 2, a screw 20, which is also seen for example in Figures 4 and 5.
[0050] The height adjustment device 10.1 in its simple embodiment is shown in Figure 3. The height adjustment device 10.1 consists of said base part 2 and a head part 1, the shaft of which has an external thread 23 for screwing into an inner thread 24 (see Figure 4) of the foot part 2 is provided. The head portion 1 to the interior 14 carries a cover 4 of the groove (see Figure 4) compatible supporting element 7, which includes two downward-pointing U-leg 17.1, 17.2.
According to Figure 4, the two U-legs 17.1, 17.2 are each provided with an outwardly locking catch projection 11.1, 11.2, which engages in a recess 12 shown in Figure 1 a U-leg 8.1, 8.2 of the channel cover 4.
[0051] The dimensions of the support element 7 are designed for a releasable snap-in or bayonet connection terminal connecting with the channel cover 4. The terminal connection keeps the entire height adjustment device 10.1 stable inside the gutter cover.
On the stability also contributes to the form-fitting inserted into the recess 6 with foot 2.
[00521 A height adjustment device shown in Figure 4 10.2 has a locking element 19, with the headboard and footboard 12 can be braced against each other. The locking element is any screw, preferably grub screw 29 with an Allen key hex drive, which can be rotated transversely to the internal thread 24 of the foot part 2 disposed within threaded bore 37.
[0053] According to Figure 6 (height adjustment device 10.4) the locking member is in the form of a threaded bushing 27, with which the height can be adjusted. The threaded sleeve can also act on the cylindrical base portion, which is screwed onto the groove in the cover 4 has a head part 1, clamped. The recess 6 of the drain element 3 is cylindrically and includes the cylindrical threaded bushing 27, which is let to a bottom 49 of the depression. By tightening an axially extending screw 28 in a spreading gel 57, the threaded bushing 27 is braced against the headboard 1. A sealing element 22 is pressed into the circumferential groove 21 of the upper collar 58 of the threaded bushing 27.
[0054] In Figure 5, a height adjustment is shown 10.3 , in which the foot part 2, a merging into a lower circular base 59 threaded sleeve 38, an elastic clamping element 39, an axially extending screw 42 and arranged transversely to the screw axis, the clamping plate 40 includes a threaded bore 41. When tightening the screw 42, a deformation of the clamping element 39 is caused, which causes the rotation of the thread.

[0055] All height adjustments 10.1 to 10.4 are formed by screw 20 and have the external thread 23 on the head part 1 and internal threads 24 on the foot part 2 [0056] According to Figure 7, the height adjustment is 10.3 inserted with their foot part 2 in the groove 6, wherein a load distributing element 18 is arranged in the form of resting on a bottom below the plug blades 50 of the recess 6. The ribbed plug engages with its sharp fins 60 in a wall 61 made of plastic which is directed perpendicular to the bottom 49 of the recess 6.
[0057] Figures 8A to 8D respectively represent one of the helical different height-adjusting device 10.5. In the height adjustment device 10.5 is a resilient snap connection 30 between the head portion 1 and the foot part 2 The head part 1 and foot part 2 feature height-staggered locking elements 31; 32 and are clamped together at right angles to the support element 7, i.e.
longitudinally axially directed spring force F . The spring force F is generated by tightening of a spring 48 which is held by means affixed to the support member 7 and the foot part 2 retainers 33. As a tension coil spring 48 is selected, the hooks of both ends of the holding devices 33.
[0058] The holding devices 33 each include a transverse pin 34 on which the coil spring is suspended, wherein the cross-bolt 34 has a length that exceeds an inside diameter of an opening 35 of the support element 7 and corresponding to an opening 36 of the foot part 2.
[0059] In Figures 9A to 9C another different helical height adjustment portion is 10.6 shown with rectangular head and foot sections. The head part 1 and the foot part 2 have contacted one another via wedge surfaces 15.1, 15.2, in which an up or down-slide of the head portion 1 with respect to the base portion 2 results in a height adjustment being made.
To determine the head part 1 on the foot part 2 a detent 16 is provided to limit rotation and a screw 43 and two perpendicular to the U-legs 17.1, 17.2 of the support element 7 extending pivot bearings 44.1 and 44.2, each with a bearing bolt 45.1 and 45.2. A rotary bearing (44.1) being secured to two opposite side walls 66 of the head portion 1 and the other rotary bearing (44.2), as well at the opposite side walls 67 of the foot part 2.
[0060] As can be seen from Figures 9A and 9B, the wedge-shaped surfaces 15.1, 15.2 are each formed by the inclined edges of the side walls 66, 67 of the head part 1 and of the foot part 2.
[0061] The foot part 2 is arranged on the bearing pin 45.2 has a through hole 47 which is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the screw 43, so that the screw 43 can be shifted along the through hole 47. The head part is arranged on the bearing pin 1 45.1 includes a threaded bore 46 (see Figure 9D) for receiving said screw.
[0062] In this manner, the head part 1 and the base part 2 are coupled together. Rotating screw 43 results in the head part 1 being made to slide over the wedge surface 15.2 of the base part 2 and at the same time distance A is changed (see Figure 9C) between the center lines of the bearing pin 45.1 and 45.2. After tightening the screw 43, the desired distance A is set.
[0063] Finally, Figures 16 to 21 depicts a further preferred embodiment (reference number 10.8) of the screw joint 20 shown having height-adjusting means, which is produced in plastic with both head part 1 and the foot part 2. The head and / or foot part can be made of another material, for example a metal, in particular of a stainless steel.
[0064] The foot part 2 has an approximately oval plate base 70 and a central leg 70 projecting through the body 71, whereby the longer sides of the oval base plate 70 each have a straight section 72 provided. The body 71 is streamlined designed so that the waste water can flow around it along its two shaped side surfaces 73.1 and 73.2.
[0065] The supporting element 7 of the head portion 1 is circular and merges into a relatively small sleeve 75 on the external thread 23.
[0066] In the assembled state (see Figure 16), the circular supporting element 7 of the head portion 1 engages via a C-shaped intermediate piece 78, which is made in an exemplary embodiment of plastic, but may also be made also from a metal, in particular a stainless steel may be made, and fits in the interior 14 of the channel cover 4 is held. The intermediate part 78 has two lateral wing portions 79.1, 79.2 to which the support member 7 can be pushed.
[0067] The height adjustment device 10.8 includes the screw 20 with the external threads 23 on the head part 1 and the internal thread 24 on the base part 2 as can also be seen in Figure 4, and the locking element in the form of the expander cone 57, which by means of the screw 28, the foot part 2 braced against the headboard 1.
[0068] The base part 2 shown in Figure 18 has a maximum height H1, which is adapted to the maximum installation height of the water outlet device.
[0069] To adjust the foot part 2 to a minimum installation height of the water outlet device then the body 71 may be easily sawn along a direction indicated in Figure 18 by plane E
parallel to a viewing surface 69 of the channel cover 4 or to a base surface 74 of the foot plate 70 extends. After sawing off the foot part 2 takes to a smaller height dimension (height H2;
see Figure 20). To simplify the separating grooves 77 are provided on both side faces 73.1, 73.2 of the body into which the tool, in the present case, a saw may be guided.
[0070] As can be seen in Figure 21 is what has been on the water drain element 3 as well as the circular base 70 and the oval with its longitudinal axis 76 extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the channel cover 4. The oval shape of the recess 6 and 70 of the stem gives the height adjustment device is inserted into the recess 6 then embodiment 10.8 sufficient positional stability.
