Pour permettre l'accès aux Protective cap for container and container provided with such a hat The present invention relates to a protective cap for a container as well as a container provided with such a cap.
The invention more particularly relates to a protective cap for fluid container, particularly for pressurized gas bottle, comprising a casing body and a ring forming a mounting interface of the body of rollover on the container.
Protection against shocks and various attacks of faucets or regulator valves equipping the pressurized fluid bottles is realized in General by an accessory named hat that can be opened or closed (see NF E29-640 standard). The general characteristics and performance of these caps are described for example in standard NF EN 962.
A closed cap offers complete protection of the faucet when in place but must be removed to give access to said tap. So, the hat closed no longer protects the valve when the bottle is in use.
Open hats are relatively simple when designed for protect classic faucets. In general, hats are more sophisticated for valves with integrated expansion valves (RDI) due to their clearances allowing access to the controls and the visibility of manometers (see for example the document FR 2 774 452 A1). The hat design must take into account several sometimes contradictory constraints. So, for ensure its protective role while allowing access to the tap and ensuring good ergonomics of use (for the transport of the bottle as for the filling or racking the fluid), the hat must be the most encompassing possible. In addition, to allow the inspection and maintenance of the valve on hat must be very open and / or removable. A removable hat is interesting for maintenance of the valve but also for the maintenance of the cap itself.
same (painting, cleaning, repair or replacement operations).
However, the installation and removal of the hat must be relatively simple and the attachment must be sufficiently reliable to prevent loosening or loss of hat during handling and transport. To allow access to
2 controls and visibility of manometers or other components, the hat must be positioned precisely in height as angularly relative to the tap.
Finally, the hat must accommodate the type of binding available on the bottle that it equips (like for example a collar according to the standard NF
EN 962). However, there are different types of fastening for the hats of protection: smooth collars, threaded collars with different diameters (especially 78 mm and 80 mm). The collars usually have a diameter outside the space envelope of most faucets classics.
This allows to mount the cap on a tap already mounted on the container.
However, a large number of faucets, and in particular regulator taps (RDI), have a space envelope greater than the outside diameter of the collars.
This has the consequence that it must either provide a removable cap can be assembled on the bottle without disassembling the valve, or the tap after the hat. In the latter case, this prohibits the dismantling of the hat without the prior disassembly of the faucet. It should be noted that fitting of the tap is a delicate operation, particularly because of need to respect a tightening torque relative to the bottle. The dismantling of the faucet can lead in turn to damage the faucet, for example by wear of the conical thread of the flange or the marking of the surfaces in contact with the tightening and loosening tool.
US 4,880,134 discloses a smooth protective cap that attaches on its container by means of a threaded adapter ring. This solution However, it is not suitable for taps where the space envelope does not fit in the diameter of the adapter ring.
According to other known solutions, the cap can be made in two parts coming to pinch a smooth collar. This solution is not suitable however threaded flanges and is only suitable for one profile of collar (diameter and height).
An object of the present invention is to overcome all or part of the disadvantages of the prior art noted above.
2a According to one aspect of the invention there is provided a method of a container of fluid, comprising a valve (2) and a protective cap, the cap comprising a body of casing (5, 6) and a ring (3) separate from the casing body (5, 6), the ring forming a physical entity distinct from the rollover body and container forming a interface of mounting intended to be interposed between a container and the casing body (5, 6), the ring (3) is split, that is to say presents a single opening (13) on its circumference intended for placing or removing a container, the opening (13) of the ring (3) being provided to form, during a set-up or a withdrawal of the ring, a passage for a portion or section of a container or member mounted on a container such valve, characterized in that the casing body (5, 6) comprises at least one less two parts adapted to be secured so as to grip the ring (3) on the container.
To this end, the protective cap is also in line with the definition generically given in the preamble above, is essentially characterized in what the ring is split, ie presents a unique opening on its circumference provided for its establishment or withdrawal with respect to a container, the opening the ring being designed to form, during a setting square or removal of the ring, a passage for a portion or section of a container or a member mounted on a container such as a tap.
Furthermore, embodiments of the invention may comprise one or more of the following characteristics:
the ring has an elasticity to allow enlargement and / or a temporary narrowing of the opening during an installation and / or a withdrawal, - The end of the ring located substantially diametrically opposed to the opening has a weakened and / or deformed area relatively at rest of the ring, the ring has an inner surface intended to be mounted on a outer surface of a container and an outer surface intended for cooperate with a surface of a cowling body for mounting the latter on the container, the inner surface of the ring being smooth or having landforms such as a tapping to cooperate with a combined surface of a container, the outer surface of the ring comprises a fastening profile or positioning for cooperating with a complementary profile of a surface the cowl body, the outer surface of the ring comprises at least one hollow and / or one relief, the casing body comprises at least two parts capable of being secured, the casing body comprises at least two parts capable of being secured to grip the ring on a container, the ring is dimensioned so as to present a game relative to the external dimensions of the collar, the ring forms an open ring,
Bien entendu, tout autre moyen de fixation des deux demi-chapeau 4 the at least two parts of the casing body comprise means fastening type flanges and screws, the at least two parts of the casing body comprise openings provided for visibility and / or access to organs located in interior hat, the at least two parts of the casing body form a cage, metal preference, the ring comprises metal and / or a metal alloy and / or a material plastic type.
According to an advantageous feature, the casing body can be fixed on the collar by means of an interface comprising a split ring whose inner surface is threaded to cooperate with the thread of the collar.
The outer profile of the ring is a surface of revolution that cooperates with a complementary profile located in the inner surface of the hat or body of cowling.
The slot of the split ring is of a width dimensioned such that said ring can be put in place while the valve or the regulator valve integrated (RDI) is already installed on the bottle. Preferably, the collar is threaded and the split ring threaded. It is thus possible to screw the ring on the flange to position it at the height ideal for positioning relative hat and tap or RDI.
To facilitate the installation and removal of the hat, it can be split in at least two parts that are first assembled without particular tightening sure the ring. This allows to angularly position the hat relative to tap. It is then necessary to tighten the assembly of the different parts of the hat or body of cowl, to concomitantly block the hat on the split ring and the split ring on the collar of the bottle. The ring split can be machined with a slight clearance compared to the collar which simplified its machining and setting up. This game can be caught when tightening the body of cowling. To increase the clamping effect between the split ring and the collar, the inertia of the split ring can be reduced locally by example in the area diametrically opposite to its slot. For this purpose, it is possible of to practice a notch and / or a piercing that the skilled person will know how to dispose for reconcile its elastic efficiency and ease of obtaining.
To adapt to different types of bottles, the same hat can be fit on split rings of different shapes or internal sizes. A
even split ring can also receive different hats. This can allow to renew rollover bodies without changing the split ring interface mounting.
The hat can be used with smooth collars the adoption of split rings adapted accordingly. In this variant, the finesse and precision of the height positioning of the ring on the collar are slightly less compared to the solution in which the split ring is threaded and screwed onto a threaded collar. Differences in height can however, be corrected either by the use of different split rings if the differences are generic either by the use of split shims like the ring and introduced under the latter to obtain the desired height dimension.
Another solution may be to use split rings presenting an outer profile off-center with respect to the thickness. That is, the part in protruding or hollowed out of the outer surface of the ring is closer to one of the flanks (upper or lower) of the ring than on the other side (lower or upper) of the ring.
Thus, by mounting the ring with the raised flank up, the hat is will find mounted in relatively high position. Conversely, by mounting the flank with raised relief, the hat is mounted in position relatively low. To facilitate the choice of the split ring and its orientation, a template carrying different notches can be achieved easily. Alternatively, means automatic metrology will guide the operator.
For bottles with a smooth flange and locking ring (from circlip type) such as that described in US 3776412, the blocking in translation of the split ring can be secured by a circlip similar to the one used with the rotating cap. Clamping the casing body fixing then the angular position and annihilating the game between the hat and the bottle.
Other peculiarities and advantages will appear on reading the description below, with reference to the figures in which:
FIG. 1 represents a perspective view of the upper part a pressurized gas cylinder with integral regulator valve and without protective cap, FIGS. 2 to 6 represent perspective views illustrating a succession of mounting steps, on the container of Figure 1, of a hat of protection according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 7 represents a perspective and enlarged view of the container of FIG. 1 equipped with a protective cap mounted and conforming to an example of embodiment of the invention.
FIG. 1 represents a bottle 1 of gas under pressure equipped with a valve 2 with built-in regulator comprising, conventionally, means of control and manometers.
A succession of steps of the assembly of an exemplary embodiment of a protective cap according to the invention will now be described with reference to the Figures 2 to 7.
Referring now to FIG. 2, a split ring 3 is shown in a position allowing its implementation by translation around the flange 4 of the bottle 1 (arrow T). More specifically, the ring 3 can to be inserted or threaded around the tap and / or at the top of the flange 4 of the bottle 1 via a translation of the ring 3 in a direction substantially perpendicular to the vertical axis of the bottle 1. That is to say that the ring 3 can be placed around the base of the tap 2 or at the level of the part Superior of the flange 4 in a direction substantially transverse to the axis bottle 1.
The inner surface 23 of the ring 3 is threaded to cooperate with a conjugate thread formed on the flange 4. The outer surface 33 of the ring 3 has a peripheral rib intended to cooperate with a throat conjugate formed on an inner surface of a cowl body intended for be mounted on the ring 3 (see below).
The width of the slot 13 of the ring 3 is dimensioned to allow the passage of the valve through the slot 13 towards the inside of the ring 3.
When the split ring 3 is placed above the collar 4 of the bottle 1, the axes of the bottle 1 and the ring 3 are substantially merged. In this position, the ring 3 can be screwed on the flange 4 by rotation (arrow R figure 3).
The dimensions of the ring 3 can be determined with a set sufficient to make the screwing ring 3 easy. Indeed, in the end assembly of the hat, the ring 3, which has a certain elasticity because of its slot 13, will be tight on the collar 4 and the game will be caught.
Figures 4 and 5 illustrate the positioning of the two half-hats 5, 6 which will be tightened on the ring 3 split by two screws 7. The half-hats 5, 6 have for this purpose in their lower part a half-flange 8 whose area interior is of complementary shape to the outer surface 33 of the ring (a groove in this embodiment). The screws 7 are provided for cooperate with threaded bores formed through the flanges 8 of the half 5, 6. Of course, any other means of fixing the two halves hat
5, 6 forming the cowling body can be provided, such as for example pins, elastic clips, cam fasteners as the wheels of bicycle, pegs like scaffolding, clips, type collars wiring clip, pop rivets. The choice of fixing system will be guided in particular by the ease or difficulty of disassembly referred to, the fixation can accumulate a tamper-proof function.
In this way, once the two half-hats 5, 6 tight around the 3 ring mounted on the flange 4, the assembled cap is attached to the Ring 3 which is itself blocked on the collar 4.
Figure 6 illustrates possible complementary parts for the assembly of the hat: a pommel 9 handling comprising in its lower part a threaded length 19, a washer 10 and a flange 11 to crenellated tapped at its center. The threaded length 19 of the knob 9 can so be screwed into the flange 11 crenellated after the introduction of the flange 11 under a portion (rods forming a grid) constituting the upper part of half hats 5, 6.
Alternatively, the knob may be free to rotate to facilitate the rolling from the bottle.
Thus, as can be seen in FIG. 7, the crenellated flange 11 links together the upper parts of the two half-hats 5, 6 cooperating with the washer and pommel 9. This gives a good rigidity to the entire hat. Of preferably, the tightening of the knob 9 screwed into the crenellated flange 11 is secured by one of the conventional means and known to those skilled in the art among the washers elastic members (for example of the NFE 25215 Grower type, NFE fan 27626, ..) thread locks, a locknut, a nylon ring nut (DIN 985, Nylfix) etc ...
Of course, the mechanical connection between the upper parts of the two half-caps 5, 6 is not limited to the example described above. So, by for example, the upper parts of the half-hats 5, 6 can be fixed by any other equivalent means, for example by hooking systems complementary worn by the half-hats 5, 6.
In the same way, the structure of the hat is not limited to the example of embodiment above in which it is formed of a metal cage with possible reinforcements 15, 16 (Figure 4). Thus, the rollover body forming the hat may have any form and structure of protection, and include any other material or combination of material and in particular plastic.
For example, the rollover body may comprise a single portion wrapped partially open and comes to cooperate with a flange of fixation. That is to say, compared to the embodiment of the figures 2-7, one of the two half-hats has a more enveloping shape and the other half cap is replaced only by a mounting piece (half-flange by example) which does not participate or little in the protection of the tap.
It is therefore easy to understand that while being of simple structure and little expensive, the invention has many advantages over the solutions known. Thus, the hat object of the invention allows both:
- to best encompass faucets or valves with built-in regulators - to leave access to the controls and the visibility of the components to be seen - easy assembly, positioning and disassembly disassembly of the faucet, - an adaptation to a large number of different bottles while retaining a relatively standard structure, Of course, the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments described above. Thus, for example, the embodiments are not limited not to a protective cap attached by means of a ring but may apply to any other type of mounting interface of a rollover body on a container.
