Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of protection against fire. It relates more particularly to a protective fabric intended for form the outer layer of a fire protection garment by example of a firefighter's clothing.
The safety of men is a primary criterion in evolution technical aspect of our society. In the field of fire, we seek particular that those involved in the fight against fires are protected as much as possible to avoid or at least to limit serious accidents. This is how textile producers developed specific fire protection materials, namely thermostable or thermoreactive fibers, fabrics made from said fibers and garments made from such fabrics.
As regards the fibers commonly used in the manufacture of protective clothing against fire, fiber is particularly known named aramids, whether para-aramids or meta-aramids, by example, the Kermel fiber which belongs to the chemical family of imide polyamides, for example Nomex fiber which is a polymétaphénilèneisophtalamide.
The fibers marketed under the Kevlar, Twaron and Technora 0 names.
It should be emphasized that a firefighter's clothing must, in addition to its fire properties, meet the same requirements aesthetic than any other clothing, especially having a visual appearance exterior which is acceptable or at least reproducible of a garment to the other.
However, there are on the market materials that would be particularly interesting for producing external fabrics for fire protection clothing, with regard to their mechanical resistance and their thermal resistance, but which pose a major risk of defect from an aesthetic point of view. For example, these are type wires
Without wishing to provide a scientific explanation for this phenomenon, it is possible to think that these variations are due to treatments that involved in the manufacture of such son.
Therefore, for the realization of a protective fabric intended for form the outer layer of a fire protection garment, one uses para-aramid-type yarns that do not exhibit such defect, for example the yarns marketed under the names Kevlar @, Twaron and Technora. However, these threads present another disadvantage that they are sensitive to ultraviolet light, and that, when dyed, they present colors of bad solidity to the light. That's why, these para-aramid threads are growing often used in fabrics of the double fabric type, while making so that said wires are arranged on the inner face of the layer outer part of the garment, that is to say the face that is not directly exposed to light and ultraviolet light. This implementation presents a major disadvantage of having to increase the mass per unit area of fabric if a relatively high proportion of type yarns is chosen para-aramid, for example tissues of at least 300 g / m 2 if on the order of 50% of para-aramid type yarns. On the other hand, if we wants to maintain a more conventional surface mass, for example of 220 g / m2, the proportion of para-aramid type, for example 10% para-aramid son.
The object of the present invention is to propose a fabric of protection capable of forming the outer layer of a protective garment against fire, which overcomes the disadvantages mentioned above.
This is a protective fabric, having a mass per unit area less than 300 g / m 2, preferably between 180 and 260 g / m 2 which consists of at least two types of fire-resistant yarns, namely a first type of meta-aramid type yarn, a second type of type yarn high-modulus para-aramid with variations in their length
Par contre, dans le cadre de la trame, le contraste de coloris ne concerne que la largeur du tissu, généralement entre 1,50 m et 1,60 m 3 hue and possibly, in chain, a third type of para-aramid does not present these variations of hue, but sensitive to ultraviolet; this fabric comprises from 15 to 50% of son of the second type and possibly of the third type and his armor is determined so that on the outer side of the fabric, the warp threads of the second and possibly of the third type are almost completely masked.
Thus, according to the particular provision of the present invention, it is possible to obtain a conventional mass-protection fabric and which has a large proportion of para-aramid threads, in particular high modulus son not sensitive to ultra violet which, despite the variation tint inherent to this type of yarn, has an aesthetic appearance acceptable.
Indeed, the plaintiff has found that the variation of hue on the length is not crippling when the frame is apparent on the outer layer, contrary to what has been observed with regard to the chain.
This can be explained when we consider that the warp threads are taken during warping on reels of production batches different, so that the juxtaposition of the warp threads taken from these coils and having different colors can generate a scratch on the entire length of the room, which is a crippling defect.
Moreover, even if all the coils of the warping creel are same lot, the hue variation will result in a different visual appearance between the beginning and the end of the room, which will affect the clothes made with the said piece: the same garment may have variations in appearance if the panels cut for confection are collected in distant areas of the same room or two clothing will have different visual aspects depending on whether the panels used for making them come from the beginning or the end of the piece.
On the other hand, as part of the frame, the color contrast does not relates that the width of the fabric, usually between 1.50 m and 1.60 m
Dans le premier exemple, les fils du premier type sont des fils du 4 since it's the same weft thread that crosses the warp threads over any this width. Possibly it is also possible, with a mixer frame, to use several coils in turn to constitute the pick up and thus reduce the effect of the color variation of the weft threads by a statistical mixture.
Moreover, in the case of para-aramid yarns, which do not have variations in hue but more sensitive to ultraviolet light, they are not in the chain and the fact that they are almost completely masked avoids the problem of degradation due to the action of light and ultraviolet.
In an alternative embodiment, the wires of the second and possibly of the third type represent from 30 to 50% of the chain and the second type of son from 30 to 50% of the weft son.
In an alternative embodiment, the son of the first and second type are in the range of 12 to 16 tex X 2.
In an alternative embodiment, the subject fabric has a basic armor with the following pattern: a thread of the first type, a wire of the second type and two wires of the first type and in alternation of sons of the first and second type.
In this embodiment, it has been possible to produce a fabric with a mass per unit area of around 220 gr / m2 and having a final proportion of 66.3% of meta-aramid fibers, 33% of para-aramid fibers, high color variation module on its length and 0.7% of anti-static fibers. It should be emphasized that in the case of yarns of the first type, the meta-aramid fibers are usually mixed with a small percentage of static, in particular Belltron fibers or other fibers, load dissipators or conductive.
The present invention will be better understood on reading the description of exemplary embodiments of a protective fabric having a surface mass of less than 300 g / m 2, intended to form the layer outer shell of a firefighter's clothing, illustrated by FIGS.
2 representing two basic armor for said armor-like fabric double sided chain.
In the first example, the sons of the first type are sons of the
The yarns of the second type are para-aramid type titration yarns 14.3 tex X 2, high modulus, showing color variations on their 1o length. This is for example son known as Rusar . It may also be son known under the name Armos, SVMO or AuTx-HT O. These are continuous filament yarns.
As shown on the figurel in this first example, the pattern of warping is 3 son of meta-aramid type (K for KERMEL) for a para-aramid type wire (P for para-aramid).
As for the dithering pattern, it is of a meta-aramid (K) yarn for a para-aramid yarn (P).
The texture of the fabric is 52 X 22 threads / cm.
Its surface density is of the order of 220 gr / m2, with a The final proportion of 66.3% of meta-aramid fibers, 33% of para-aramids and 0.7% of anti-static fibers.
In this exemplary embodiment, in each unitary pattern (4 × 4) having the armor shown, the para-aramid type warp yarns module are alternately visible in front and opposite back in a ratio of 1 to 3. In practice, with this kind of armor, it turns out that the meta-aramid (K) warp yarn which is the most left of the armor pattern will tend to go over the wire of para-aramid chain (P) so that the said warp is actually almost completely hidden on the face of the fabric.
It should be noted that if, for the chain, it is preferable to use wires twisted at both ends because of better fabricability, it is possible to the
For example, for titration son of 14.3 tex x 2 in warp, we use in weft single threads of 29.4 tex.
The second example differs from the first by the basic armor, of the type double-sided armor warp, which is illustrated in Figure 2, in which the warping pattern is also three-wire meta-aramid type for a wire of para-aramid type and the dithering pattern is also of a type wire meta-aramid for a para-aramid type yarn.
In this second example, in each unitary pattern (4 x 6) the wires of para-aramid type chain are alternately visible in front and back side in a ratio of 1 to 2, but as in the first example, the meta-aramid (K) warp yarn finds the leftmost of the armor pattern tends to go over the para-aramid (P) warp thread which is immediately adjacent to it, this which makes, on the face of the fabric, the para-aramid warp is almost completely hidden.
In these two examples, all the warp and weft threads in para-aramid can be of the second type but one can also have all the para-aramid warp yarns of the third type.
So, for the para-aramid (P) warp yarn it should be possible to use more traditional Kevlar Twaron type yarns or Technora O since they are almost completely masked, they should not not be directly under the effect of ultraviolet and light. This variant presents a financial benefit since these more conventional threads are less expensive than the aforementioned para-aramid type yarns presenting color variations along their length. However, she can present a disadvantage in terms of the mechanical strength of the fabric of fact of a lesser resistance of the more classic threads which, for the finesse of desirable yarns, are on the market fiber yarns while aforementioned hue variation over the length are multi wires filaments (continuous filaments) of greater strength.
The present invention is not limited to the embodiments
7 described and illustrated as non-exhaustive examples. In particular, it is possible to consider other armor, for example an armor in which the warping pattern is four yarns of the first type for a yarn of the second type and the dithering pattern of a wire of the first type for a wire of the second type, for better density and better masking of son of the second type in chain, while remaining in the surface masses desired and with a proportion of about 30% of the sons of the second type.
