Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un article sous forme de feuille ou d'un produit sous forme allongée à partir d'un alliage d'aluminium traité par dissolution thermique ne possédant sensiblement aucune distorsion thermique permanente. Le procédé consiste à soumettre un article constitué d'un alliage d'aluminium traitable à chaud à un traitement thermique de dissolution à une température de solubilisation permettant de dissoudre des précipités solubles présents dans l'alliage, à refroidir l'article de la température de solubilisation à une température critique supérieure en dessous de laquelle il peut y avoir solubilisation de particules d'une seconde phase, à refroidir encore l'article jusqu'à une température critique inférieure en dessous de laquelle la précipitation des particules de seconde phase ne peut plus se produire, le refroidissement prenant place entre les températures critiques supérieure et inférieure à une vitesse de refroidissement assez rapide pour éviter une précipitation importante à partir de l'alliage, et, éventuellement à refroidir l'article jusqu'à une température inférieure à la température critique inférieure. Le refroidissement éventuel supplémentaire de l'article est mené de telle façon que la vitesse de refroidissement augmente au fur et à mesure que le refroidissement progresse.
