Abstract

Procédé permettant d'améliorer l'efficacité d'additifs cationiques aqueux renforçant la résistance à l'état humide grâce au prétraitement de surfaces cellulosiques par des composés anioniques réactifs qui permet de créer, sur la surface cellulosique, des sites anioniques supplémentaires capables de retenir sur la cellulose une proportion élevée de tels additifs cationiques renforçant la résistance à l'état humide. Les additifs renforçant la résistance à l'àtat humide sont durcis ou mis en réaction avec la surface cellulosique. La matière fibreuse résultante se caractérise par une résistance à l'état humide inhabituellement élevée pour des doses inhabituellement faibles d'additifs cationiques. Les composés anioniques réactifs préférés comprennent des composés possédant un groupe réactif adapté à une liaison covalente avec des groupes hydroxyl sur la cellulose, et possédant également des groupes terminaux sulfoniques, ou d'autres groupes terminaux anioniques, capables d'attirer des composés cationiques renforçant la résistance à l'état humide dans une solution aqueuse.
