Abstract
Des matériaux nanocristallins lixiviés ayant une grande surface spécifique sont particulièrement utiles pour stocker de l'hydrogène ou pour la fabrication d'électrodes pour la catalyse ou l'électrocatalyse, telles que celles utilisées dans les piles à combustible. Ces matériaux peuvent être fabriqués en préparant un matériau nanocristallin constitué d'un composite ou d'un alliage métastable d'au moins deux éléments chimiques distincts. Pour être nanocristallin, le matériau doit avoir une structure cristalline avec des cristaux de taille inférieure à 100 nn. Le matériau nanocristallin ainsi préparé est alors soumis à une lixiviation de façon à éliminer partiellement ou totalement au moins un des éléments du composite ou de l'alliage. Cette lixiviation donne au matériau résultant une structure poreuse et, de là, la grande surface spécifique requise.
