L'invention s'applique 155JAl' 1, aux bancs et chaises longues. Elle s ' applique également aux chaises pl i Ahl ~ et 10 empilables.
L'état de la technique permet de connaître de nombreux sièges ou fauteuils dont le dossier est articulé. Ce dossier n'est pas destiné a protéger ou à couvrir 1 ' assise.
En général, ces dossiers sont rabattus sur 1 ' assise en vue 15 de plier et/ou d ' empiler le siege ou le fauteuil de manière a faciliter le stockage et/ou la manutention. Le but et les caractéristigues de ces sieges sont donc totalement différents.
Cet état de la technigue peut être défini ainsi, -EP -A- 0 , 331 . 558 ( GROSFTLLEX ): Fauteuil ~mp 1 7 Ah 7 e à dossier 20 et accoudoirs replia-hles . Le fauteuil comprend, d ' une part, ulle assise supportée par des ~amhages reliés par des traverses hautes, d'autre part un dossier monté pivotant autour d'axes relativement a 1 ' assise, enfin, des accoudoirs reposant sur les traverses et articulés sur le dossier, Selon l'invention, challue dispositif 25 d'articulation d'un accoudoir sur le dossier comporte, derrière ce dossier, un palier supportant une rotule faisant corps avec wo 9S/15099 2 1 7 6 3 ~ ~ pcrlF~94/01395 ~'accoudoir considere et déportée latéralement, le palier présentant une fente transversale pour le passage dudit accoudoir d'un coté ou de l'autre d'un montant dudit dossier.

Selon un mode de réalisation particulier représenté notamment à la figure 5, le dossier 8 comporte deux oreilles latérales 13, 14 qui font office de butées d'arret dudit dossier 8 en position ouverte d ' utilisation.
Lesdites oreilles 13, 14 sont disposées en partie basse de part et d ' autre du dossier 8 au-dessus de son axe ou de ses axes d ' articulation 4 en vis-à-vis du prolongement des pieds arriere du siège.

Ce moyen de liaison 22 est constitué par une rainure crantée 23 intégrée dans chague accoudoir 17, 18, qui coopere avec un axe 24 solidaire de la partie 20 prolongeant les pieds avant 21.
La rainure crantée 23 permet de rabattre le dossier 8 en imprlmant un ~ de type ~ 11age à chaque ~ m7flrl~r 17, 18 qui pivote alors sur 1 ' axe 19 tout en coulissant et pivotant autour de 1 ' axe 24 ce qui positionnera les accoudoirs 17,18 en léger devers par rapport a la verticale et leur assure ainsi une protection accrue aux c~l; Cs~res, une i`ois le dossier 8 rabattu.
