Insbesondere bei Hotelgästen mit kürzerer Aufenthaltsdauer sind diese Kofferböcke sehr beliebt, da es die Ablage eines geöffneten Koffers ermöglicht, weshalb ein Einräumen von dort verstauten Kleidungsmitteln in den Kleiderschrank nicht unbedingt erforderlich ist. In Hotelzimmern, wo derartige Kofferböcke nicht vorhanden sind, werden von den Hotelgästen häufig dort vorhandene Sitzmöbel missbraucht, wobei die Koffer auf den Armlehnen der Sitzmöbel in geöffneter Position abgestellt werden. Hierdurch kommt es zu erhöhten Abnutzungen und Beschädigungen dieser Sitzmöbel.
