Abstract

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE

AN unloading apparatus comprises an opened hexahedral main frame ,a pair of vertical members of main frame provided guide channel on its inner sides of main frame , a moving frame provided four horizontal guide bars fixed on end plate of the moving frame at their ends and provided four vertical guide bars which are movable on the guide bars by the guide bushings laid on the middle part of the guide bars and moves smoothly cooperating with rollers attached at the end of the end plate ,a Y axis station inserted onto four vertical guidebars by the bushings and shaped as a box downward and contains main z axis station inserted into said y axis station and can be slide upward and downward by a fifth hydraulic cylinder fixed between y axis station and main z axis station, a pair of x axis station shaped as a box and laid parallelly with the y axis station moving smoothly in Y axis direction on the four guide bars by the guidebushings along Y axis with the power of a third hydraulic cylinder fixed at the middle part of end plate of said moving frame and contains auxiliary Y axis station movable upward and downward.

Description

_ACKGROUND OF THE INVENT10N
1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an apparatus for unloading freight from an open freight car and more particularly, to an apparatus for unloading freight such as limestone, coal, and the like loaded in the open freight car so as to deliver the freight to a designated place.
2. Description of the Prior Art Generally, when workers unload freight such as limestone or coal loaded in an open freight car, there are a number of problems such as dust pollution, labor expenses, and the like.
In order to avoid such problems, when fork lift cranes apply to unload the freight from the open freight car, there are also disadvantages such as dust pollution and handling expenses.

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for unloading freight loaded in an open freight car so as to overcome such problems.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus which comprise an opened hexahedral main frame , a pair of vertical members of main frame provided guide ,~,_ _ _ 2~7~4l1 channel on its inner sides of main frame , a moving frame of which four horizontal guide bars are fixed on end plates of the moving frame at their ends and provided four vertical guide bars which are movable on the guide bars by the guide bushings laid on the middle part of the guide bars and moves smoothly cooperating with rollers attached at the ends of the end plate , a Y axis station inserted onto four vertical guide bars by the bushings and shaped as a box downward and contains main Z axi~
station inserted into said Y axis station and can slide upward and downward by a fifth hydraulic cylinder fixed between Y axis station and main Z axis station, a pair of X axis station shaped as a box and laid parallelly with the Y axis station moving smoothly in Y axis direction on the four guide bars by the guide bushings along y axis with the power of a third hydraulic cylinder fixed at the middle part of end plate of said moving frame and contains auxiliary Y axis station movable upward and downward by the two fifth hydraulic cylinders and contains the first hydraulic cylinders , a second hydraulic cylinder ,two auxilary shoveling hydraulic cylinders,a shoveling Hydraulic cylinder to operate its loading and unloading.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERED EMBODIMENT

Refering now in detal to the drawings for the purpose of illustrating preferred embodiment~ of the present invention, the apparatus for unloading freight from an open freight car as shown in Figs.l,2,3,4,5 comprises a main frame 1, a raiIroad R diposed on the bottom of the main frame I for the open freight car C to come into the main frame 1, a moving frame 2 consisted of two end plates 2',2' and two side plate 2~,2~ shaping a rectangular box laid on the two parallel vertical members IOZ,102' which have U-shaped guide channels 103,103' to guide the rollers 202 of moving frame 2.

The open freight car C contains a plurality of outlets Cl having a door CZ with locking pin C3, respectively.
The main frame I is laid on the general railroad R' and shaped as an opened hexahedral configuration made of steel frames.
The vertical member 102 of main frame I has guide channel 103 on its bilaternal sides and they makes moving frame 2 move smoothly cooperating with rollers 202 attached at the end plates 2',2' of moving frame 2.
The moving frame 2 is connected to first pistons 301,301' of the first hydraulic cylinders 3,3' which are fixed on the one horizontal member 101 at its one end of mainframe I .
Four horizontal guide bars 6 are fixed between two end plates 2', 2'of the moving frame 2 at their ends and four vertical guide ba rs 8 which are movable on the guide bars 6 by the guide bushings are laid on the middle part of the guide bars 6.
Y axis station 10 is inserted slidably onto these four vertical guide bars 8 by the bushings 10'.
The second piston 13 of a second hydraulic cylinder 12 of which the other end is inserted onto guide bar 6 slidably is fixed on Y
axis station 10 . Two X axis station 20,20' laid parallelly with the Y axis station 10 can be moved smoothly in y axis direction on the four guide bars 6 by the guide bushings 21,21' along y axi s with the power of third hydraulic cylinders Z2,22' fixed at th 2~7~8~

As shown in Fig.3, Y axis station 10 is shaped as a box downward and contains main Z axis station 14 whic is inserted into Y axis station 10 and can be slide upward and downward by a fifth hydraulic cylinder 15 fixed between Y axis station 10 and main Z
axis station 14.
A bracket 18 is welded on the bottom of main Z axis station 14 and main shoveling member 17 is pivotably connected by the main pin 19 . A shoveling Hydraulic cylinder 16 is connected between bracket 18 and at the middle part of main shoveling member 17 as shown Fig.4.
Two X axis staions 20,20' are also shaped as a box and contain auxiliary Z axis station 23,23' movable upward and downward by two fifth hydraulic cylinders 24,24'. AuxiliarY shoveling members 26,26' are pivotably connected by the auxiliary pins 27,27'at the one end of auxiliary Z station 23,23'. Two auxiliary shoveling hydraulic cylinders 28,28' are connected between at the ends of auxiliary Z axis stations 23,23' and at the middle parts of auxiliary shovelings members 26,26' respectively.
Pistons of all the hydraulic cylinders are extended or shrinked according to the operating situation. Because the art of control of hydraulic cylinders are generally known, minute explanation 2~ l Q8~

for the control system is not described in this specification.
Fig.5 shows extending and shrinking of pistons of hydraulic cylinders in the case of loading A and unloading 0.
The extension and shrinkage of each piston of hydraulic cylinders enable moving frame 2 and each station move on X,Y,Z axis linearly.
In Fig.5, the arrow mark means the direcion of pistons' extension and shrinkage respectivly. The said main shoveling member 17 and two auxiliary shoveling members 26.26' shapes a basket when the pistons of hydraulic cylinders are extended.
Fig.Ia shows another embodiment of the invention. A set of roller 1' and roler guide 1~ attached beside roller 1' tG prohibit main frame I 's derailment is fixed at the end of four post members 104 of the mainframe 1. Another rail R' for the roller 1' is laid beside the rail R outwardly. And the roller 1' is powered by the attachable power supply mechanism(e.g.:motor:not shown) Fig.6 is another embodiment of the invention. This embodiment is also provided a moving frame 41 instead of Y axis station 10 of the said first embodiment and two X axis station 4Z,42' in the moving frame 4I with guide bars 402,402'.
The main staion 47 fixed on the middle part of moving frame 41 is shaped as a box and contains Z axis staion 44 which is connected 2 ~
to the shoveling arm 49' of a main shoveling member 49 with arm pin 48 and a hydraulic cylinder 46 is attached between the end part of main staion 47 and the upper end of the shoveling arm 49'. A first hydraulic cylinder 46 makes Z axis staion 44 move upward and downward. Two Y axis station 42,42' are connected by a second hydraulic cylinders 43,43' to the plate of the moving frame 41.
Two Y axis stations 42,42' are inserted into guide bars 402,402' fixed between two end plate 45,45' of the moving frame 41. Moving arms 47,47' are pivotably connected to the brackets 46,46' welded at the inner ends of Y axis stations 42,42'. Auxiliary shoveling member 50,50' are pivotably connected to the moving arms 47,47' with pin 51,51' at the midst .Thlrd hydraulic cylinders 430,430' are set between Y axis stations 42,42' and at the ends of the moving arms 47,47'. Two operating hydraulic cylinders 431,431' are provided between the ends of auxiliary shoveling member 50,50' and at the middle parts of moving arms 47,47'. The combination of movement of hydraulic cylinders makes loading and unloading operation.
The freight of an opened car will be transfered to another adequate transportation means( e.g.; trucks, another opened car etc.) with the apparatus of the present invention.
As shown in Fig 7. another embodiment of the present invention _ _ _ , _ _ 2~7~

has lower moving frame 301 and provided a rotating station 303 driven by a set of gear 304 and pinion 304' powered by a motor 304~. The moving frame 301 contains four rollers 302 at its posts 301' to move on the another railroad R~. A first operating arm 305 is pivotably connected at the end of rotating staion 30~
and shaped ~ L ~. A second operating arm 306 is pivotably connected to the end of the first operating arm 305 with arm pin.
A shoveling member 307 is rotatably provided at the end of the second operating arm 306. There is provided a rectangular plate 315 connected to the second operating arm 306 and it rotates freely by the pin 314. A first hydraulic cylinder 308 is connected between rotating member 303 and at the middle part of the first operating arm 305. One end of the second operating arm 306 is connected to the middle part of the first operating arm 305 by a second hydraulic cylinder 309 and a third hydraulic cylinder 313 is coneected between one end of the second operating arm and shoveling member 397 bY way of rectangular plate 315 which is pin-connected with piston 313' of the third hydraulic cylinder 313.
Fig.8 shows another embodiment of the present invention showing a spiral worm shoveling memeber 401. A spiral worm shoveling member 401 can be attatched to the bracket 18 of Fig.3. This spiral 2~7~g~

shoveling memeber 401 have two spiral worms 402,402' driven by hydraulic motor 403. Two spiral worms 402,402' are shaped as long bars paralleling with end plate 2' of Fig.3 and rotate in clockwise and counterclockwise. Rotating spiral worms 402,402' move freight into end corner of car C with their blade 404,404' and the moved freight is poured through door C2 of car C.

With above construction, frame 301 can move and rotating station 303 can rotate freely on the moving frame 301 . This apparatus is contrived to load and unload from an general freight car which have closed roof.

The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. such variations are not to be regarded as a depature from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included in the scope of the following claims.

Claims (5)

1. An apparatus for unloading freight loaded in an open freight car, which comprises: an opened hexahedral main frame 2.
a pair of vertical members 102 of main frame 1 provided U-shaped guide channels 103,103, guide channel 103 on its inner sides, a moving frame 2 consisted of two end plates 2',2' and two side plates 2",2" shaping a rectangular box and laid on the two parallel vertical members 102,102' and provided four horizontal guide bars 6 fixed on its end plates 2,2' at their ends and contains four vertical guide bars 8 which are movable on the guide bars 6 by the guide bushings 5, and is laid on the middle part of the guide bars 6 and moves smoothly cooperating with roll ers 202 attached at the end of the end plates 2,2'.
a Y axis station 10 inserted onto four vertical guide bars 8 by the bushings 10' and shaped as a box downward and contains main Z axis station 14 inserted into the said Y axis station 10 and can slide upward and downward by a fifth hydraul ic cylinder 15 fixed between Y axis station 10 and main Z axis station14.
a pair of X axis stations 20,20' shaped as a box and laid parallelly with the Y axis station 10 moving smoothly in Y axis direction on the four guide bars 6 with the guide bushings 21' along Y axis with the power of a third hydraulic cylinder 22 fixed at the middle part of end plate 2, 2' of the said moving frame 2 and contains auxiliary Z axis stations 23,23' movable upward and downward by the two fifth hydraulic cylinders 24,24';
and contains the first hydraulic cylinders 3,3', a second hydraulic cylinder 12 ,two auxilary shoveling hydraulic cylinders 28,28', a shoveling Hydraulic cylinder 16 to operate its loading and unloading.
2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein a set of roller 1' and roler guide 1" attached beside roller 1' to prohibit its derailment is fixed at the end of four post members 104 of the main frame 1 and can be powered by the attachable power supply mechanism.
3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus can comprises;
a moving frame 41 instead of Y axis station 10, two X axis stations 42,42' in moving frame 41 with guide bars 402,402' .
a main staion 47 fixed in the middle part of moving frame 41 and shaped as a box and contains Z axis staion 44 connected with the arm 49' of main shoveling member 49 by a arm pin 48 and provided cylinder 46 attached between the end part of main staion 47 and the upper end of the main shoveling arm 49'.
a first hydraulic cylinder 46 whic makes Z axis station 44 move upward and downward.
two X axis stations 42,42' connected by second hydraulic cylinders 43,43' to the end plates of moving frame 41 and inserted onto guide bars 402,402' fixed between two end plates 45,45' of moving frame 41.
a moving arm 47,47' pivotably connected to the brackets 46,46' welded at the inner ends of X axis stations 42,42'.
auxiliary shoveling members 50,50' pivotably connected to moving arms 47,47' by pins 51,51' at the midst .
third hydraulic cylinders 430,430' provided between X
axis stations 42,42' and at the ends of moving arms 47,47'.
two operating hydraulic cylinders 431,431' provided between the ends of auxiliary shoveling members 50,50' and at the middle part of moving arms 47,47'.
4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus can comprises;
a spiral worm shoveling memeber 401 having two spiral worms 402,402' with their blade 404,404' shaped as long bars paralleling with end plate 2' and rotate in clockwise and counterclockwise by hydraulic motor 403.
5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the apparatus can comprises a moving frame 301 provided four rollers 302 at its posts to move on the another railroad R".

a first arm 305 pivotably attached at the end of rotating frame 303 and shaped " L ".
