Abstract

The said industrial design consists of the shape, configuration and ornamentation of an electrically-powered wheelchair having two pair of wheels, a seat portion mounted on a box-like seat support structure, a floor structure, arcuate fenders situated above the left side pair of wheels, a slim U-shaped pillar portion, a large operating panel situated between loop-shaped generally cylindrical handle portions; a pair of rear view mirrors mounted on the outer ends of the loop-shaped handle portions, and a right side body structure situated to the right of and beneath the seat portion and above the right side pair of wheels; the U-shaped pillar portion slopes upwardly to the right and has a left end surface which merges smoothly through curved transition areas into front and rear surfaces; the front and rear surfaces of the pillar portion have generally identical slightly raised panels which extend the height of the pillar portion and have generally flat outer surfaces; the lower ends of the raised panels merge through shoulder areas into opposite ends of a generally U-shaped panel section having slightly diverging front and rear surfaces; the generally U-shaped panel section extends along and follows the contour of the lower end of the pillar portion; the pillar portion has spaced-apart generally identical transparent headlight covers which are situated adjacent the area where the U-shaped panel section and the raised panels merge; the headlight covers have generally triangular configurations with slightly convex curved inner edges and rounded outer corner areas; the lower edge of the generally U-shaped panel section merges into a left side cover section which curvesdownwards and to the right away from the generally U-shaped panel section; the upper end of the pillar portion merges into an outer surface of the operating panel; the operating panel has a generally trapezoidal appearance with rounded corners in plan view and the outer surface thereof generally follows the contour of the upper end of the pillar portion; the operating panel has a generally flat upper surface portion having control areas thereon; the generally flat upper surface portion merges into a left side recessed area which slopes upwards and to the left away from the upper surface portion; the right edge of the upper surface portion merges into a downwardly to the right sloped lower portion of the operating panel;the left end of the floor structure merges into the lower end of the pillar portion; the floor structure has raised curved sections situated on either side of the pillar portion which are spaced above and generally follow the curvature of the arcuate fenders; the right end of the floor structure merges through an upwardly curved transition area into the lower end of the box-like seat support structure which has rounded corners; the front and rear edges of the floor structure have rounded shoulder portions which merge into flat upper surfaces of front and rear narrow panels; the narrow panels have downwardly extending, slightly outwardly curved outer surfaces with rounded corners between the flat upper surfaces and the outer surfaces thereof; the right ends of the front and rear narrow panels merge into slanted panel portions having flat surfaces which extend upwards and to the right away from the narrow panels and are situated along the side surfaces of the box-like seat support structure;the right edges of the slanted panel portions merge into the right side body structure; the right side body structure has curved front and rear fender sections which are spaced above and generally follow the curvature of the right side wheels; the right side body structure has a flat right end surface having spaced-apart generally identical raised circular tail light areas thereon;the seat portion has a high back rest and generally identical side arm rests; the seat portion has smooth curved corners, a slightly concave upper surface, and generally flat front and rear surfaces; the back rest has a curved upper edge and a smooth curved concave left side surface; the back rest has a generally trapezoidal open area with rounded corners in elevation view at the lower end thereof; the arm rests have rounded ends and a lower surface which tapers upwards to the left to the rounded left ends.Representations of the design are shown in the figures wherein:Fig. 1 is a front elevation view of the design of an electrically-powered wheelchair;Fig. 2 is a rear elevation view thereof;Fig. 3 is a top plan view thereof;Fig. 4 is a right side elevation view thereof;Fig. 5 is a left side elevation view thereof;Fig. 6 is a left front perspective view thereof; andFig. 7 is a right front perspective view thereof.Photographs of the design are included.
